June 7, 201610 yr No,i want hazard to stay till his 30s...Imagine us winning the league next season, and the following one the cl Why would anyone in their right mind wanna leave? No matter how much we win Real and Barca will always have the attraction and pull for players.
June 8, 201610 yr Lets be honest, to get 6 years of service for a player of Hazard's calibre before he goes to Real or Barca is great imo. I don't think he has given enough for the ability he has to be honest. He's hardly given us anything like what Ronaldo gave United before he joined Real Madrid. We have what is supposed to be one of the most talented footballers in the game in our squad and we have only once competed for the league title with him in the squad and not once looked like winning the Champions League with him. He was great in our title winning season, but other than that i don't think he has reached the levels he is clearly capable of. It may sound harsh but for someone of his ability in the squad, we really shouldn't be struggling to keep up with the top teams every year.

It may sound harsh but for someone of his ability in the squad, we really shouldn't be struggling to keep up with the top teams every year. I think that has more to do with the lack of quality in the squad rather then Hazard. We haven't exactly been surrounding Hazard with lots of other worldclass talent now have we ? Oscar and Willian work hard but they aren't really top players. His first 2 seasons here we played with Torres as the main striker while having Ramires and Lampard in midfield. Then there's our defence which has been/still is a bit of an anchor that, whenever we play good teams, forces us to defend deep and play on the counter because Ivanovic, Terry and even Cahill just don't have enough pace to play a high line and they simply aren't able to handle 1 vs 1 situations with pacey attackers and space in behind them. That puts a lot of distance between Hazard and the oppositions goal while also not giving him much support to work with when he does reach the oppositions half. No coincidence that he ended up playing his best season for us when Costa and Fabregas were added to the squad and we ended up winning the PL. Now we just need to overhaul our defence and shore up our midfield which according to the rumours seems to be what we're looking to do.

Ronaldo is a goal scoring machine and very few players will match his output.

June 8, 201610 yr to be honest if i was a player in england, i too would fancy going to a big club abroad. sunshine, warmth, great food and all that jazz. i can certainly see the pull with places like barcelona, madrid, rome, turin etc. Edited June 8, 201610 yr by enigma
June 8, 201610 yr Daft to compare him to Ronaldo. Ronaldo is a goal scoring machine and very few players will match his output. I'm not really saying he should give us what Ronaldo gave United, i'm just saying that when you have that superstar player in your team, you should never struggle to compete with the best.
June 8, 201610 yr to be honest if i was a player in england, i too would fancy going to a big club abroad. sunshine, warmth, great food and all that jazz. i can certainly see the pull with places like barcelona, madrid, rome, turin etc. I think i would be the opposite to be honest. I'm a fan of sunny and warm weather conditions, but playing in those conditions would be hell, the heat would drain me. I would find it easier to play in English weather conditions. The food isn't a big issue either really, Chinese, Italian, Indian, you name it, we have it over here too.
June 8, 201610 yr Most of these European footballers grow up following the likes of Barca, Madrid and they see that as the pinnacle. If he were English it might be different but I don't expect him to stay here until he's in his late 20's.

Ever been to Madrid in winter? Less stormy than Britain, but not warm at all. And they go home in the summer anyway. You can get great food anywhere, especially when you're on over £100k a week ffs.
June 8, 201610 yr If I were privaledged enough to be a professional footballer, earning £200,000 a week to play a couple of games a week I would play in Timbuktu or anywhere and shovel Shi. For the rest of the week.
June 9, 201610 yr Good player only good because of other good players hey? Good players need other good players to play off of. You don't win trophies with just 1 good player and 9 other worker ants. Also we're talking about winning the CL which means going up against the likes of Real and Barcelona. The gap in quality between us and teams like that is just too big atm for Hazard alone to bridge it.
June 9, 201610 yr be interesting to see how hazard performs vs italy on monday. anyone reckon he'll put on a bit of a performance to prove a point?
June 9, 201610 yr I reckon Hazard is going to have a really, really good Euros and be the stand out player like James Rodriguez was at the world cup. If that happens i get the feeling Real Madrid are going to come in for him in the summer especially with Zidane there but i hope I'm wrong.

Having watched Belgium quite a lot recently they do underwhelm like a lot of golden generation teams.
June 14, 201610 yr Average today He was the best player for them in the second half, but I don't understand why he slows down so much. Needs to run at defenders far earlier before they can form up around him
June 14, 201610 yr He was the best player for them in the second half, but I don't understand why he slows down so much. Needs to run at defenders far earlier before they can form up around him Yeah, it's almost as if he needs a breather so stops for a few seconds. Maybe there are still fitness issues? There were a couple of times where you thought go on Hazard, run at the Italian defence like you did against Liverpool and do something memorable, but he would check back and choose the easy option. Was still one of their best players though. KDB was hopeless and as for Lukaku, he made Harry Kane's performance the other night look relatively decent. He was worse than useless.
June 14, 201610 yr The thing with Hazard is that even when he is average, he has moments which show you how much ability he has got. He can change a game in an instant and has bundles of natural talent. Granted he needs a coach to bring it out of him, but he is the one player we have that IMO would stroll into any team in the world. I don't think any amount of money would buy a better replacement.
June 14, 201610 yr Thought he played well. Did his best to spark a very average team. He started most of their best moments.
June 14, 201610 yr Luca's comments were interesting regarding Eden. And Vialli had a stark warning for the attacking midfielder ahead of Conte's arrival after the tournament. "Conte has them so well organised, we have so many options," Vialli said on BBC. "We love defending but we were also ready to attack at every moment. "Hazard has to do better, he has to work harder. "Conte demands that you run. If you don't run, you will be straight out."

It's not a fitness issue. It would use more energy running then stopping and repeating. I think it's down to the fact none of the players at Belgium are in sync with each other at the moment, none of them are running to the areas Hazard is looking to play a pass too hence the reason he stops.. there is nothing on.

Belgium are doing exactly what England did with their golden generation, wasting it due to bad manager(s). What they need to do is get a competent manager with a solid track record with getting teams playing together, then by the time the next world cup comes they will be one of the favs. If Jordan Lukaku and Charley Musonda develop as hope/expected, they could have a terrifying team by the time Russia comes along.
June 18, 201610 yr He had a half decent game, but gave the appearance he wasn't putting in a shift, seemed to look pretty flat at times...
