Exactly. I've read rumours from €75M to €150M over the past 12 months. Most recently it was €100M and in the past weeks it has been €130M. 

Now it seems that we are telling them to pay up around €140-150M for his services.  And I bet that we're going to get it - which obviously is what he's worth as well.

Given the current over-inflated market, and players like Chilwell being talked about for 70m and Zaha for 100m... Hazard going for a similar amount is quite a disgrace

It's just due to his contract expiring, nothing else.  Last summer, with 2 years left on his deal, the rumored price was something north of 200m.  If he had 3 or more years left on his deal, we'd probably be looking for a record transfer fee.  But even better, we kept him instead.

So if RM wanted him and would pay for him, Hazard should of signed a new contract, with the proviso we'd let him go this summer for £150 million+

I agree, something like that could have worked.  Although I think it is unprecedented, so I doubt anyone was too keen on actually doing it.

If a player signs a new deal it’s is because he is committed to staying - from his perspective. Clubs may well put players on new deals knowing full well it is partly to protect their market value, but Hazard isn’t and wouldn’t sign if he intends to leave, he loses any leverage or control he has.

I think this move has been his ambition and intention for a while, years in fact.

Hazard is a man of his word and he wants to have good relationship with everyone. I probably would go on about it the same as Eden. It is not very easy to be as good as he is and move to another club. Only 3 clubs can afford him basically. 

I hope the club works this deal out soon. It is good for us and him. Status quo is the worst state.

Why?

Madrid would offer him less wages and less signing on bonus.

Add to the fact it may also mean Madrid pull out of a deal and look at alternatives because of the price. Lets be honest, if you have £200m you'd spend it on someone more productive than Hazard at 28 years old.

The bloke wanted to leave and it looks like we'll get a good deal for him.

£100 million is about half his actual value going by the other top players moving about in their prime. 

You couldn’t replace him with that amount and I doubt even if we had double we would attract that level of player anymore. We don’t need money as we make tons of it and with the stadium plans on hold we ain’t short at all. Add into that the sales of our loan players ever season we make a fortune, sadly we spent it on sub par players though. Barkley, Drinkwater and Bakayoko would see Hazards fee gone. Morata and Jorginho would see it gone.

We need to be far smarter when we can buy again like we were in the summer Cesc and Costa came, when we brought in KDB, Hazard and Lukaku as potential. We seem to have lost our way on that front

He has one year left. Its a good deal. Its a good deal considering we got 7 years out of him, failed to ever build a team around him and made him feel like he needed a fresh start elsewhere.

The point is we didnt attract that level of player when we bought him, we bought a young player with huge potential... we can still get that sort of player most teams can its then the ability to keep them once they get to the highest levels that is brought into contention. We, after the ban, will always have a few quid to throw at players

We already have one in CHO. Sign another one to replace Hazard (Pepe?) and we could have a Robben/Ribery-esque partnership for years to come.

exactly, and to be fair who is to say that Pullisic isnt already that player (he could fall on his arse but you dont know) 

 

Mbappe went to PSG for how much? £160m odd wasn’t it? And he’s 20. And he’s just scored 30 odd goals this season. £100 million+ for Hazard would be a good price.

7 years ago to the day a young Eden Hazard signed for Chelsea for £32m. 

The rest, as they say, is history. 

Best of Hazard is on at 8pm tonight and 2am tomorrow. Not sure if it will come on again. Has been on several times, however not sure how much people know, Chelsea TV is ceasing its contract from July 1st, so I will be recording this and keeping this forever. Shows his first 50 goals (I think) for Chelsea and it is a joy to watch. From seeing is cheeky penalty style to some absolute beauties, a must watch for anyone with access to Chelsea TV and a must keep. Enjoy! May repeat once or twice before July but no guarantees so if you got sky plus, record and keep!

I thin ZZ being back has fueled the interest in a deal for both Hazard and RM

Latest I read is the hold up is due to us negotiating to sign Kovacic at the same time in a separate deal. Real supposedly want it as an exchange deal to lower the Hazard price, whereas Marina supposedly wants the highest price tag while paying around 30mill for Kova.

Keep digging in Chelsea, get exactly what you want and don’t budge.

Talks have collapsed according to a number of papers. Marina drives a hard bargain. I assume this will mean we'll see the cycle of transfer request/not turn up for pre-season again for the second season in a row. 

We haven't got a lot of leverage here but glad we're not backing down.

We arent exactly in a rush aswell this year, since we cant bring in a replacement. I hope it doesnt rumble on into preseason though, but it really wouldnt suprise me.

Id rather the transfer deal go through ASAP tbh. Imagine having him for one extra year just for him to leave on a free next year? Would be a nightmare by all accounts, just for a extra few million
