Cesc Fabregas

Great assist, may have given Fernandinho a cheeky slap, I could care less.

You mean you couldn't care less, meaning you care absolutely zilch!

Did you see it - I genuinely haven't but was amazed how calm he was when Fernandinho kept shoving him.  Apparently Cesc got a yellow so presumably the ref saw it.

Yes sorry, I meant I couldn't care less. If you watch it back you can see him tap Fernandinho on the face, initially I thought he was trying to calm him down, but I don't think so. Anyway, it serves Fernandinho right for failing to control himself.

doesnt fit conte's system at all, but still a fenomenal player

slim chance but i truly hope he stays, a total luxury having a player like him coming off the bench when we need a late goal with his telephatic connection with diego, think they were twins in past life

He actually done better in the system than I thought. There wasnt a stage in the game yesterday where I thought our midfield were being popped around, like we saw against tottenham in the first half.

Maybe that was due to them matching our system rather than playing with a 3. But i certainly think in Home games/easier games he could play in that 2 comfortably.

Imagine if Fabregas played over Matic that Tottenham game. It would be almost a foregone conclusion that Fabregas linitations defensively was the sole reason we got doninated early on and everyone in the gameday thread would be typing get him off in cap locks. Could thing he wasnt subbed yesterday, him and Costas moment of brilliance completely turned the game around.

A foregone conclusion is he got that telepatic link up play with costa, more often than not, it's goals so why take that away from the team?

Give him a run of games, his positives would cover over his so called negatives..

I dont think fabregas made us much weaker defensively than we have, kante had a poor game imo, but it is too small of a sample size to put that down to cesc being in there next to him.

Alonso and cahill were responsible for most of city's chances, and moses fell asleep for one in the 1st half that azpi blocked.

Cesc played 2 world class balls, 1 in the 1st half which hazard should have tucked away, and also the assist.

He hasnt been given much of an opportunity to prove whether or not he can play in this 433, because the results and performances have been so good.

I will reserve saying whether or not he fits conte's system until he has a rin in the side, as we have already seen how well luiz, cahill, and moses have done, having been written off aswell at one point or another.

Top player though, and he can win you a game with 1 pass, which is massive when the margins are so fine.

kante and alonso had a poor game too against spurs and cesc didn't play in that game...

I take it you meant to say 3-4-3 and I like it when you mentioned a list of players being totally written off but turned out good when given chances in a proper way... I think the best example are pedro and moses..

Good eye to spot moses fell asleep for that 1 chance but I would like to think it's being addressed at the break because on the 2nd half, he rectified his error of getting caught up..

I absolutely agree with that! What would people have say Fabregas started against Tothenham and they dominated us in that game? He doesn't fit the system! Fabregas started the match and BOOM we conceded a goal for the first time in ages!

Played well on Saturday. But won't ever fit in this 3-4-3, our midfield doesn't look as strong it has to be said.

His attacking abilities are there for everyone to see. The pass for Costa's goal was phenomenal on the face of it... but that was just standard Cesc.

I would love for him to stay and provide us with an injection off the bench for when we're chasing the game, but the man is a superstar and in another formation would be world class, it'd be wrong to limit him in what's the tail end of the prime part of his career to bench appearances.

I'd imagine he'd stay till the summer and then go, but lets hope he signs off with a second premier league title (two more than he ever won at arsenal might I point out)

The man is proper Chels and loved the way he celebrated Hazard's goal!

Great pass for Costa but the game in general passed him by big time and was argubaly the main reason City created so much.

Totally agree. Seems like a misfit in any 2 man midfield system.

He is a part of this big team, he should probably get more chances than he does but he is acting like a good professional. Why would he leave mid season when he has a chance to win the title again. If he does leave he will probably do that in the summer.
