He's just not very clinical. 

Once CHO is fully fit and Pulisic has found his feet I don't see Willian getting much of a look in.

Kante has now scored more goals against the top 6 in the last 4 years, than Willian has in the last 7 years with us..

Logically you would expect him to score more against the big 6, as these teams will prepare for the usual goal threats and not the others so much.

I meant the opposition would likely prepare for Abraham, Willian and Mount yet not Kante, meaning Kante is not seen as a priority around the opposition box giving him a little more time to do damage.

Lampard has caught the Virus, seems he sees Willian as playing well and having a good effect on the team.

 

Maybe if used deeper he could do, but as far forward as he is he needs to create and score goals, and does neither anywhere near often enough.

Apparently Juventus are eying him on a free in the summer. We’ll probably give him a 6 year contract.

Kante had more league goals than Willian last year, no one is preparing for Willian as being a goal threat.

The old broken record is playing the same tune when it comes to Willian in this forum but I he has been very good in last two games. Frank agrees. I think Willian is the first choice winger depending on formation. Mount is more of a midfielder imo.

Now we need some goals or assists of him. Hope this new brave generation gives him some inspiration.

The biggest criticism of Willian is his lack of end product, it is abundantly clear that he has all the fundamentals to be an elite player yet season on season he keeps failing to truly kick on. With his ability and the number of years he has been at the club he should be aiming for 20 Goals and assists per season, he is operating in an advanced role within an attacking setup so he doesnt have much of an excuse for not getting close to those sort of figures.

Because, of thread like this thinking on this a bit more and think Willian has played because we didn't have Kante.

That meant just having Kova with speed in the MF, unless you add Willian as well and then you have two potential fast breakers from midfield. They also chase down the opposition numbers too. 

So for me in SFL's mind Willian banging them in would be nice yet as long as his play opens up the rest of the ground for Kova to find Mount or Abraham in space he is happy.

I thought he had a solid game today.

I was frustrated with him s couple of times but worked hard all game and got a goal too.

Willian played well today. Tony Gale absolutely loves him.

He does like the one most likely to do something. That's the truth. Different skillset to our other wingers. I think he has played well recently. I'm not a fan post the Conte emoji incident but credit where it's due he deserves his spot.

Absolutely deserves his spot right now. yet the lack of end product and the wast of the ball is very frustrating. Kept going for the full 90 yesterday and is willing to help out when the team is in a tight spot. Tracks back, is great at bringing the ball out of tight spaces... Worked as hard as any of the younger players and was for mine much more influential over the whole 90 than say Mason Mount yesterday.

It was clear yesterday that SFL has had a chat with him on his goal scoring looking at the number of shots he took.. goals bring more goals .. expect him to go on a run.. if he puts in similar performances he will get more opportunities to score and confidence to finish.. watch this space..

There have been too many false dawns when it comes to Willian, so I will see yesterdays performance as a one off until he can prove he is capable of performing well consistently.

I will give the devil his due, he was very very good against Brighton.

He's gonna have to play very well and score more goals this season for me to change my dislike of him.

Creative spark yesterday. Personally hope he signs a new contract.

God No! We are so far off City & Liverpool if we are ever going to get any closer it wouldn’t be with Willian/Pedro on fat contracts for another season or 2. I still can’t see what other people are seeing with Willian, personally for me a top quality winger should be producing more than 1 goal & Zero assist in 323mins of league football.

In a perfect world we get top 4 which is still achievable and get 1 of Sancho, Chiesa, Under or Chukwueze.
