Slag him off all the time but he’s been great the last few games. Magic of the #10?

Take away the goal and did he have a good game? Not for me. Slowed the play down, lost the ball easily that led to the counter attack for their goal.

He had a good game. One often overlooked aspect of Willians game is his pressing and workrate, he's one of the best in the world at it (for an attacker) and it was unreal again against Lille.

He's had a good couple of games now.

But my issue with willian is that he's never done that for a season. He's only ever done it once for half a season (Jose's last)

All the talent but no consistency

Unpopular opinion but I didn't think he was that far above his usual level in Jose's last season, it's just that it in itself looked amazing compared to how far everyone around him fell.

It was February/March in Conte's last season that he truly stepped it up a gear and for that brief period genuinely looked as good as Hazard.

such a myth, blokes been lazy since Mourinho left. Rather throw his hands up at his team mates after he's made a mistake than try and win the ball back.

Maybe his best strike ever for us

He's very often quiet but in bigger games he's always there for something special, dream goal.

Wednesdays game pretty much sums up Willians time with us, incredibly sloppy in the first half broke down a couple of promising counters for us one of which led to the corner which we conceded from. At half time I believe Lampard may have had a chat and he was a lot better especially by pressing and offering support to James who was making his CL debut in a completely new position, he was eventually awarded with a goal.

The quality is there for all to see and that part of Willians game shouldn't be up for debate but it shouldn't take a rocket at half time for you to up your performance.

True. My point saying half season was that didn't do much after Jose left when no one was paying attention any more.

It was brief. Hull at home in the fa cup, and Barcelona 1st leg, he was outstanding.

I like willian, his flaws are obvious, but he is a technically outstanding footballer. He hasnt quite lived up to the player i thought we were getting after that shakhtar game, but 300 games in, for £30m, he has been pretty good.

I was concerned about his attitude after luiz got sold, but his application has been 1st class, snd i hope it continues like that, should he find himself on the bench.

Not sure if id keep him or pedro beyond this season, so if it is last, lets hope we see some more moments from him like the one on Wednesday.

I think when he works hard like recently he deserves place though he has not always been like that.

I'm not sure he was that close to Luiz and felt without Hazard he might have been one of the payers to step up.

I thought he would play on the left stepping in with shots though think Frank has him on the right as I believe he links up better with other players on that side.

Also with Mount and CHO we have other options on the left.

They must be pretty close since they have opened a restaurant together.

I looked for a restaurant and could only find it listed under David Luiz with a lot of negative comments about the time he moved to Arsenal, called Baboo or something similar.

Interesting and see also Kia Joorabchian is mentioned suggestive that he has the controlling interest.

Heard the name before as an 'agent' of players notice it is claimed he has done some other wheeling and dealing too.

This is where he excels in. High pressing, recoveries, plays it fast and no faffing about.

Keep playing like this. It's when he thinks he's the next Ronaldinho is when he plays like crap.

Fantastic performance today.

Just my theory but I think he was trying too hard to prove himself in previous games because he felt his place was under threat but now he probably feels more comfortable to keep it simple after being a match winner.

Today we saw a side of Willian that we rarely see.

When we think of Willian over the totality of his time at Chelsea, we think of rapidity, agility, work ethic, mazy runs and 'hero goals' (spectacular long range strikes). We certainly don't think of through balls to set goals up on a platter for teammates - but that's what we saw today.

Another superb game.

It was his decision making I was happy with. He was timing his passes, dribbles and runs properly. His performance today is something we should be seeing on a regular basis.
