December 9, 201411 yr Like Liverpool last season their defense isn't good enough, Smalling, Evans, Jones aren't top class defenders and Shaw is too inexperienced. They got lucky last night but on most occasions the other team would come out of that game with at least a draw. It isn't but point is Liverpool got damn close last season and how many on here would have said no way regarding Liverpool at this stage last year? You just never know in football, its something to be mindful of.
December 9, 201411 yr It isn't but point is Liverpool got damn close last season and how many on here would have said no way regarding Liverpool at this stage last year? You just never know in football, its something to be mindful of. Think Liverpool where top this time last season
December 9, 201411 yr Think Liverpool where top this time last season Well anway one one thought they'd stick out the pace. All I'm saying is lets not right off United right now.
December 9, 201411 yr The thing is, Utd are the biggest club in England so are expected be challenging, whereas last season Liverpool fluked it and the media had a w**kfest over them. If I remember right, Liverpool ended up 7th or 8th in the 2012/13 season, so last season was unexpected by most.
December 9, 201411 yr This is different, Liverpool weren't as bad as United last season. United will probably have a very injury prone season and they are completely unbalanced. The reason why Liverpool done it last season was because everything fell in place for them, the whole talk was about us, City and Arsenal and Liverpool weren't even far behind with points but no one was saying a word then they popped up at a great time with not so many games to go, however still managed to f**k it up in the end thanks to the great one. Lets just be a bit logical here, United are winning games but to even think that United would ever manage to gain more points than us or City this season? I very much doubt it, would I have thought the same with Liverpool last year? I probably would have to be fair but Liverpool were much better than United. United might have more talent yes but they are all over the place they will get top 4 but that's about it, they aren't as set up or prepared as us or City are. There is only 2 teams that are capable of winning this league, United are not one of them.
December 9, 201411 yr Manchester United must be the luckiest side at the moment! They had extremely lucky and undeserving victories against Southampton, Arsenal and Man City and they were lucky to draw against us. It's quite amazing they're in 3rd considering they're poorest Manchester United side I've seen in a long time. Hello lads, City fan here. Can I just object to the suggestion that those w**kers beat us recently. Setting the record straight for a moment, we've beaten them in the last 4 PL outings. Anyway very unlucky for you at the weekend, with Newcastle at the absolute top of their game. And conversely thanks very much to a ridiculous bit of refereeing in our match against Everton, which we otherwise would likely have drawn at best. Still, keeps the title race interesting eh? Best of luck in the title race and may the best team win. Unless it's United in which case they can f**k off. But don't worry, it won't be. Edited December 9, 201411 yr by Ronetta

What possessed me? You're quite right in correcting me on my error. However I do stand by my comment that Manchester United have recorded lucky victories lately. Edited December 9, 201411 yr by Jezz
December 9, 201411 yr I don't know how we're 3rd, I really don't. Still, those saying we've been terribly lucky need to take an objective view of things. Yes, we were lucky that you guys didn't get those 2 penalties at Old Trafford along with a few other referring decisions (City) here and there, but for the most part the officials have been awful to us. We've had like 6 or 7 stone wall penalties not given. Did you know the last penalty awarded to us was from last season? We're 15 games into a 38 game season where teams on average get 4-5 penalties a season and we've been awarded zero, zilch, nada. We've also had 40 injuries. FORTY!!!! Right now, Di Maria, Falcao (not fully fit), Shaw, Rafael, Blind, Smalling and Jones are all injured. Seriously, every game 1 player gets injured. It's unbelievable. I don't know if it's the training, facilities or if the players are just injury prone. Edited December 9, 201411 yr by B.J
December 9, 201411 yr Will be cheering on Basel to progress but I have bet money on Liverpool .. so if Liverpool don't win I'm still a winner and if Liverpool do win I'm also a winner
December 9, 201411 yr Aguero out for 4-6 weeks. Could be significant given the amount of games coming up over Christmas. Is it likely he'll miss our game at the Bridge in January?
December 9, 201411 yr Has to be buttheads training methods surely ?. There is no question. I was discussing this with a United fan at work today. LVG must be doing something wrong, it was never like this under bacon nose, they've used 38 players season! 38!
December 9, 201411 yr Liverpool aren't going to win. We're going to be tasting many Scouse tears tonight.
December 9, 201411 yr I think I read that Van Gaal's training involves a lot more running and physicality. Anywho, I fully expect Liverpool to get through tonight and we'll have to listen to Rodgers chatting sh*t again.
December 9, 201411 yr So what needs to happen for Liverpool to qualify, get knocked out etc?Win qualifiedLose but Ludogrets win or draw they finish bottom Draw and Ludogrets Draw or lose they're in Europa Edited December 9, 201411 yr by Bobbywoodhogan
