To be honest they're no more fickle than any other set of fans. They got behind him when things were going well (and it's hard to deny they were going well last season until they let things slip) and got on his back as soon as their season started going tits-up. No different from Newcastle with Pardew, West Ham with Allardyce, Arsenal with Wenger, us with AVB, etc... The only difference is that Liverpool fans do themselves no favours with the grandiose nonsense and saccharine references to their past they come out with when they're feeling confident.

 

That said, I was surprised with how Liverpool set up yesterday, a very defensive lineup considering I've called Rodgers the 'thinking man's Kevin Keegan' in the past, and doubly so considering they were at home and needed a win. Either way it went horribly wrong and they got utterly trampled in the first half. Playing Henderson wide is essentially the equivalent of us putting Ramires there. Also it was good to see Gerrard shooting pointlessly from distance in desperation (although his free kick was marvellous) as well as Markovic showing why we turned down the first option on him. Either way a thoroughly enjoyable evening - I hope tonight is just as good.

Just seen the highlights of the Liverpool game. They really did struggle to creats chances. The sending off was harsh, I would have been disappointed with that.
