So a top class keeper who has been nothing short of spectacular for all of his career apart from this one season should be rid off, but we should instead rely on a 17 year old who has done nothing in his career and that too from an inferior league.

I think you are missing point here. we would keep both and if Tebo won't work out in couple more season we could that other young GK.

I don't think Courtois has ever been exactly happy to be here & I feel that his loyalties still lie with Atletico. His wife is spanish and if you throw in the fact that there'll be no CL for him here next season, I can understand why he's been somewhat cagey about where he may be next season. In that recent interview (of which we never received a comprehensive translation) I very much got the impression that he wanted out.

Could get donnarumma as our 2nd choice. Plenty of games through the season for him to get good game time.

Courtois hasn't proved he should be the 1st choice neither.

We should sign 17 year old as a prospect and develop him.

Begovic can be our 1st choice.

Made some very good saves today I thought. Red card was as much the defence's fault for being repeatedly sliced open like a knife through butter.

Yeah today wasn't really his fault, 1st was a deflection, 2nd was a one on one with one of the world's best pure finishers and the 3rd the CM's and CB's were non-existent.

Begovic is one lucky bar steward. Was en route to being stuck on the bench like Cech. Instead he got to play after Courtois's red card early in the season, then played for a few months with Courtois's injury, and now he'll get the next game due to another red card.

The crazy thing is that he arguably should have gotten to play even more.

Played is too much of an exaggeration though. He did what any decdnt keeper would have done. Har he played well we would have lost maybe 0-1. I think fans have a right to expect more from the player who forced the departure of Cech.

 

That said, saying that he was embarrassing is an even bigger exaggeration.

He had a couple of very good saves today, and I'm not a huge fan of him. I'm just amazed at how easy it was for Nasri (clearly overweight), De Bruyn and Agüero to get behind our defenders. Overall, I think that Courtois had a decent match.

Some people need to stop criticising the guy for every goal we concede. The whole team has been poor this season, and behind a shaky defence it makes his job so much harder.

This makes it sound like Cech leaving for Courtois was a bad thing? Cech wasn't great in recent years and often watched shots go past him. Sentiment aside Courtois coming in and Cech leaving was a great thing for this club.
