Juan Cuadrado to Chelsea .... Done!

Featured Replies

Draxler, Mertens, Levezzi? None of them better than Reus, but Draxler and Levezzi are definitely better than Willian I feel.

Draxler could be good but I'm not sure he's what we need. Mertens has never impressed and Lavezzi is apparently a fairly frustrating player when it comes to the final ball.

None is screaming to be better now and I think at least 2 are cup tied. Cuadrado does remind me of a José player and he could contribute in Europe.

It's just a shame it would probably signal Schurrle's exit. I'd rather we sold William but who would buy him?

And tbh, end product isn't the first of my worries atm. We actually need to have a right winger who can put in a decent cross, we're top of the league with the lowest amount of crosses. Imagine how far we'd be ahead and the superior goal difference if a few decent crosses came in

He is an upgrade to what we already have, He's rapid works hard and slightly better end product than Willian however if we're talking about nearly £30m then no idea why we are not in for Reus.

I know it's a crazy thought but what if Mourinho doesn't want Rues?

Two serious ankle injuries, missed 14 games in the first half of the 2014/15 season, hasn't played a game since his last injury 3 months ago and is CL cup tied. Can't work out why Jose doesn't want to bring him in now.

Because jose wants cuadrado this month. We can't buy reus until summer, even if we were interested. Reus doesn't even play on the right according to everything i've heard and seen, so no idea why he'd be in our minds. We have hazard for the left side.

Salah looks like hes leaving,

This chap was good in the WC had a few excellent moments imo

Its only Romans money and hes got a lot of it

In Jose I trust.

could be just another made up rumor as well.

26m is still a lot of money to be spending, so if we're going to get him, he better be an upgrade on what we have, not another willian.

Doesn't Rues typically play on the left or in the middle? He's not going to displace Hazard on the left or Fabregas and Oscar in the middle so why would we buy him in the hope he can repeat his form playing out of position on the right?

Although Cuadrado isn't as good as Rues if he is more specialised at playing on the right (assuming that's where we are looking to improve) than surely signing him makes more sense?

He doesn't even look very good in youtube compilations, and they are supposed to show the best of players. I'm not feeling this transfer at all.

Cuadrado isn't world class but from his WC performance he is defintely top class. Loves to run at defenders and has nothing but sheer pace! In my opinion he reminds me of a cheaper version of Bale since he isn't a serious goal threat. If Mou wants a guy now because Salah is leaving Cuadrado is 10x the player Salah is. Just because Cuadrado comes doesn't rule Mou out of Reus, you guys may sell Schurrle in the summer to make room for Reus but to be honest it looks like RM may have won this race....

Don't forget Cuadrado isn't cup tied so it's definitely a quality transfer for a player in that situation with that much quality.

Comparing reus to this lad is kind of pointless as reus has only shown his potential in a poor german league. Cuadrado has played in serie a where it's notoriously harder for flair players.

Everyone here seems to assume that Reus will/would be a hit on the right, but I've never even seen him play there. I've asked four different BVB fans on the internet since we were first linked with him and they all said he is vastly less effective on the right for them.

If nothing else, at least Cuadrado will be on his comfortable side while adjusting to the squad/league.

Wait, what?

Wait, what?

Yeah, that one confused me too. Serie A is terrible now, easily way below the quality of the other 3 big leagues. Gervinho is one of the best players in it for gods sake.
