January 4, 201610 yr Can't help but notice his reactions, or lack of reaction, to being constantly fouled. It, again, makes me wonder about the mentality of some of the players under Jose? Did Jose have them all hyped on the us-versus-them that it caused Diego to look for things that weren't there? I don't think so, he was far more aggressive and even disgusting at Atletico. It's just a tactic he uses, either he realised it for himself or Guus told him to cut it out because it does more harm than good. Maybe he can rebuild his reputation and he won't be given the short end of the stick by refs. Cue Costa returning to fighting everyone in the next game.
January 4, 201610 yr Maybe he finally went for the anger management classes the club paid for. He's too good a player to get into niggle with the average defenders, it's putting him off instead of the other way around. He didn't get kicked much as usual as he was making runs for the ball, instead of bumping to defenders.

Simeone isn't exactly a calming influence though, to be fair. As you said, maybe just needed Guus to tell him he was a good player and to stop being a lunatic. At least last season he was a lunatic scoring goals. I think we'd all take goals over #Costacrimes any day
January 4, 201610 yr I thought he was great yesterday, Guus has that avuncular arm round the shoulder way about him, maybe Costa just needed a bit of love !!!!
January 4, 201610 yr Costa's season appears to have started...better late than never Seems he is not the only one that seems to have started their season in January 2016! Prefer to support the players that give everything in every game not just when they finished getting a manager sacked. I hope they become managers one day and the players turn on them.... Karma and all that!
January 4, 201610 yr He looked as though he had more energy/better fitness yesterday despite missing a game..
January 4, 201610 yr More and more clear he had Jose had issues. Starting to see the Diego of last season.
January 7, 201610 yr The third training ground bust up reported this season, though the first one was retracted, Oscar and Costa in an apparent bust up, unless these reports are all rubbish: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/teams/chelsea/12087612/Oscar-and-Diego-Costa-separated-after-furious-Chelsea-training-ground-bust-up.html Edited January 7, 201610 yr by Floyd25
January 7, 201610 yr Lol I bet if Oscar or Costa don't play in the FA cup because they are being rested they will try and use that as proof. Having said that it all seems a bit of nothing. In the article it even claims'even though the pair quickly struck a truce.'So to me it just seems as if they felt they needed to write a negative article about Chelsea as it had been too long since they last wrote one and needed something to fill there quota. What is the betting this guys source is the same bloke that kept saying Mourinho would get sacked regardless of results and it kept being wrong or the bloke that claimed Fabregas was the leader of a player revolt. This source seems as thick as HP.
January 7, 201610 yr Oscar's posted on Twitter that the reports of the two of them fighting are completely untrue...obviously.
January 7, 201610 yr What a load of bollox...players make strong tackles, get a bit angry then go home...happens at every kick-about with mates, let alone clubs, in the country...only been written cos Costa and chelsea involved...look forward to reading similar bust-up between Dagenham and redbridge players when it happens
January 7, 201610 yr some positive results and morons are trying to make stories up to unsettle things.
January 7, 201610 yr Oscar denies the incident: http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/35257926 "I have always had respect for my elders, and my beloved father more than any other man on the planet. This is obviously a pack of lies."
January 7, 201610 yr Stan Collymore reported the first bust up and we all know what he's like and he hates us and Rangers, he quickly had to apologise and say that the story was untrue, what an idiot.
January 7, 201610 yr Fcuk me it's all over the back pages about there being a 'brawl' etc, even though there was no such thing...how desperate are the papers...even the stories say all was hunk dory between them very quickly...what a joke
January 7, 201610 yr How did a training drill become newspaper headline? it's beyond me. I rather they stuck into each other than not putting a shift in training ( I'm sure there will be a story on that too).
January 7, 201610 yr I actually find it refreshing the players are showing they give a bit of a sh*t, especially lightweight Oscar
January 8, 201610 yr The funniest part is we're supposed to believe Oscar would even look at Diego the wrong way. That wouldn't even be a fight.
January 8, 201610 yr They are desperate to paint us in any negative light possible, obviously. Costa has a good run, and looks positive, so they've obviously got to paint the character of him being a brawler again before folk start asking questions
January 8, 201610 yr Hope he is sold now or in the summer. He has been dreadful. No, I think he's a good striker when focused on the job. I believe Guus can make him great again.
January 8, 201610 yr Author Hope he is sold now or in the summer. He has been dreadful. And buy who? It took us five years or so to find Diego, a twenty goals a season striker. We've got no European football next season so we're hardly the most attractive proposition. He's showing signs of coming out of his slump and will most likely still finish the season as our top scorer by a fair distance.
