Diego "the guv'nor" Costa

F me, they are only human, why shouldn't they go out on the lash for Xmas?  they get zero time off to celebrate unlike us lot

I think that showed better sense than what our club did.  Players get zero time off to celebrate? LOLOLOLOLOLOLOL.  I wish I could work a footballers hours, never mind the compensation package.

Some members of Chelsea’s squad are believed to feel striker Costa gets away with things others wouldn’t be allowed. #CFC (Mirror)

I would go further and say he needs an extended holiday break.

Could be worth it.

Send him back to Spain for a few weeks and see if anything changes, if not cash in time.

Not like we'd be missing much just now.

I agree he needs a bit of a break but the sad truth is he possesses attributes which our team desperately needs, we have absolutely no presence up front without him and teams can bully us off the ball.

We seriously need to bring in a player to either play up front or behind Remy who would actually provide some threat in the air and be able to physically compete against big CB's.

Costa's actually quite poor when balls come up to him. 9 times out of 10 defenders out jump him or his close control sees the ball bounce off him and go to an opposition player.

He enjoys a scrap but very rarely does he win the ball

Yeah very good point, if you asked people what his best attribute was, most would say strength, but he does'nt even have that now.

Unfortunately he's turning out to be what a lot of us feared he would be.

I genuinely thought I'd been completely wrong based on last season but that injury seems to have made us realise our worst fears.

I can't say I was completely right because I did say I'd prefer Balotelli haha! Thank god we didn't go for that one.

Thats actually great to see.

I would usually agree, but since he is the one that has been sleeping the most this season it's hard to take him seriously.

If it was someone like Willian doing this it would make more sense.

Pretty much the whole squad has been sleeping this season, they only wake up when the game we are playing is getting desperate.

Talk about cognitive dissonance, as I completely agree with both of you.  First, it shows that he cares, and that he's annoyed that we have conceded again.  Second, if I were a defender, I'd probably have a hard time telling him to keep his eyes open and create better movement in front of goal.

If his teammates have a problem with him, stuff like this is not going to help

Honestly, a fair assessment of the defending of the first goal.

Sad thing is, Zouma could of responded with a "w**k off sign" :tank2:  and it would of been a fair assessment of Diego's attacking play this season.

Can't agree with those who say it's great to see (sorry Zola).

It's one thing saying it, it's another thing making a sleep gesture so that everybody watching can see it. He's playing to the gallery and humiliating his teammates.

It's bullying in fact, because the hallmark of a bully is someone who can dish it out but can't take it themselves.

Can you imagine if any of our players did the same thing to him in public, and what's worse, he deserves it far more than our defenders, he's been sleepwalking throughout our current campaign.

My only hope is that Terry gave him both barrels behind closed doors, where it should be done, behind closed doors.

Terry's a real leader unlike this fake, and he's as hard as they come. You'll never see him dig out his teammates in public like this.
