December 2, 201510 yr I think the happiest person would be Costa. Never in the history of football has it been so obvious a player is angling for a move. Gallas.
December 2, 201510 yr Costa is a bit of a phenomenon. Looks like a 40 year old, is actually 27 years old and behaves like a 15 year old boy. A little bit of everything. As long as he was scoring goals and using his 'impetus' against the opposition I guess it was tolerable. Our hard core support in the MH even seems to like it. But now he's become a liability so if anyone is prepared to pay 28m for him it is best for everyone if we take it. We need a replacement, but if Adebayor or Persie is all we can get I'd rather play Pedro or Hazard as a striker until the summer.
December 2, 201510 yr Remy is back this weekend and I expect him to start vs Bournmouth (he should grab a brace) Costa needs sitting on that bench a wee while longer I can see the new baby celebrations already!
December 2, 201510 yr If they had him, then they need to have removed one of the other attacking 4 - Oscar, Pedro, Hazard, Willian. Of those Oscar has creativity and defensively tracks back, Pedro defends for the team, Hazard is making smart runs and if lucky could have gotten one and Willian is in the form of his life. Removing one of them and bringing on Costa who is slow, neither contributing defensively to the team nor scoring goals nor assisting in holdup play against a pacy team is asking for an invitation for trouble. Mourinho made the right call. We looked more creative with those 4. Fabergas had a bad game as usual and you may have a case for subbing him for Costa. But I would prefer that if we take off Fabergas it is for RLC or Kennedy (And alter our formation ofcourse). Costa has not done enough to warrant being a starter and i am glad that Mourinho is recognizing that and is trying to right the ship. Nothing changed with the subs JM made. Cesc going off for Costa WOULD have changed the shape and who knows what might have happened. We do have to try and win games. unless of course you are happy to finish mid-table ?
December 2, 201510 yr Cannot se Chelsea putting in a minimum fee clause. Is more likely a buy back atletico could use if all parties wished it. They already have Martinez so I doubt they would pay that much to take Diego back.
December 2, 201510 yr At this stage, I don't mind if we sell him, hes a target for referees and media.... and that wont stop, we'll be at a constant disadvantage because of this. Torres got sh*t treatment from refs too, but at least they weren't baying for his blood like the media do. Seems like he wants to go back to Athletico, cash in and replace.
December 2, 201510 yr As I stated a while ago, and likely echoing what many have said before, without his goals the rest of the baggage isnt worth it. 20+ goals a season and his nonsense can be tolerated.....

Problem is we cant get rid until summer. Looks likely Falcao would leave in Jan. We aren't sure who his replacement would be. I doubt the club would be looking to offload two ST without quality replacements this coming winter. Sadly I think we got him till summer Edited December 2, 201510 yr by lesblues
December 2, 201510 yr I was against signing him originally, but was pleasantly surprised with his goal return last year, however he's now reverting to what I was afraid he was going to be. He's a good poacher, if he actually gets in the box, but he's got very little ability with the ball at his feet outside the box, and is a constant ticking time bomb whenever he's on the pitch.

December 2, 201510 yr He can go. Was instrumental in the title win, but the hamstring issue and his temperament... Take the money.
December 2, 201510 yr As much as I want him to leave, this is the first time he is facing a down period. I hope he comes out of it and stays long term. There was a time chelsea supporters were asking for Drogba to be sold. Drogba was a serial diver and didn't score much at that time. I am not putting my money on Costa being the next Drogba but think he has done enough for us to warrant another chance.
December 2, 201510 yr Gallas. I remember when he came back for pre-season he was a moody f**ker however, I'm not convinced he said he'd score an own goal, I honestly don't think he'd have played in the game if he had and why would ge not want to go to a final? Yes in that semi against Pool he gave away a soft goal but the week after when we wrapped up the title to Man U he got the scoring underway. He was a twat for sure and acted like a prick but I don't quite buy the own goal story.
December 2, 201510 yr The difference with Drogs was that unlike Costa, his teamwork went unnoticed. I remember him saying in 2006 complaining on a post match interview that he sacrificed himself for the team (which he did, setting up Lamps and defending corners) so he would be more selfish next season where he went on to score 30 goals. Costa is nothing like Drogba and picks more fights than he scores goals. Total liability. Wouldn't surprise me if he fights with players in training.

Doesn't seem like it from the comments some teammates have made about him. People think of him as a joker and generally like him. And some have even commented he works hard for the team. Quicker, better skill and better in the air. I remember he won ALL aerial battles against Bayern in 2005 over 180 minutes, which was incredible. I don't really think Costa could reach that level even if he tried hard. God I miss him! Edited December 2, 201510 yr by PythonLu
December 3, 201510 yr For the record, I am not saying Costa is the next Drogba. Just saying he can still come good for us. He isn't totally like a Torres, he has proved he is good.

December 3, 201510 yr http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/chelsea-stars-pictured-leaving-london-6945492? I would take those pictures with a pinch of salt
December 3, 201510 yr Yeah none of them look drunk apart from de gale And apparently Degale doens't drink (Apparantly)
December 3, 201510 yr I would take those pictures with a pinch of salt I wouldn't. Whatever the circumstances, you'd hope Diego would have his head down and be solely focused on regaining some form and helping us climb the table, and take a bit of the spotlight off himself after his shenanigans on Sunday. Bottom line, if you were the manager, you wouldn't be very happy about seeing Diego out on the town on a Wednesday night, given everything that's gone on. At best, it's poor timing and unprofessional. Ship him out.
December 3, 201510 yr I don't see the big deal to be honest. Footballers are allowed a life outside of football.
