Imagine the sh*t Conte will get if we end up drawing, having not started Costa.

Despite whatever happened behind the scenes, he still is our most crucial player and often he is the difference between 1 point and 3 points. West Ham, Crystal Palace, Watford, Middlesbrough, West Brom, plus him bagging a brace to earn us 1 point at Swansea.

He could prove to be the difference again against a rejuvenated Hull

Why don't we just wait and see. None of us know for sure if he is going to start or not. We're just speculating here nobody is wrong for thinking either way.

How do you know this isn't actually the case? Agents 'agree terms' on behalf of their clients all the time. Other than that, it's nothing like "slander" so maybe we can untwist those knickers now?

On another note, isn't it great to read through a thread on a football forum and see not-so-subtle xenophobia go unchallenged. What a f**king joke. When non-Brits behave in the exact same way as British clubs have been behaving for decades it is apparently a cause for moral panic.

Football has always existed in an economic bubble. Serie A clubs spending big in the 90s is functionally no different to Man United, Madrid and Chelsea in the early 00s, City and PSG more recently or now China. Money is what drives success in football. If that wasn't the case then Arsenal would win trophies.

Here's the thing; your precious Little England doesn't have any sort of implied right to the best players. The English Premier League is not the Holy Grail of football. Dismissing players who choose to play in China is rich when for the last two decades the EPL as a whole has relied on it's superior wages to attract players, let alone what we've done at Chelsea.

Private investment from China is not a threat but a natural change to the market. There is no reason why, given the level of investment, the best players in the world should not go to China and make the Chinese Super League the best league in the world. Money breaks tradition, and given how much sh*t our club has endured by bitter fans around this very fact, arguing against that is laughably hypocritical. "f**k China"? f**k Europe, f**k UEFA, and f**k tradition, I say.

Couch it in whatever reason you want, but I suspect some people are not being honest and just saying they don't like the idea of non-Europeans being major players in football.

Got no clue what any of that weird rant has to do with my comment about the media making up stories which disrupt the club, aren't you the same guy who fought me tooth and nail to praise pep so badly you said he inherited the worst Barca team of all time got absolutely slaughtered by everyone then had nothing to say....I can see a pattern here, not sure what your issues are but to you like Chelsea and the PL at all?

A report in The Sun on Wednesday claimed the Spain international was made to pay a £185,000 fine before being allowed to return to first-team training.

LOL LOL

If Costa does go, we need to be getting top dollar for him. I'm talking £80m-100m. Buying a replacement will be both difficult and expensive.

Im still hoping for a turnaround and Costa signing a new contract.

Frankly The Chinese are off their heads .......if they think they can ever compete against our English premier league.........the Chinese should stick to ping pong and manufacturing plastic sh*t...........Costa is being Costa, which as we all suspect is basically acting the big I am and can be a bit of a nutter.......however he is still a bloody good footballer......sadly a classic example of a mercenary selfish pig ........I couldn't care less if he goes, good riddance to a guy with a bad attitude.

If he goes, life still goes on.......am confident Antonio Conte will find a solution, such as playing Hazard as a false number 9........"in Conte we trust".

Finding a A like for like replacement for Costa will be impossible......these days none of the top clubs will sell their best players to Chelsea.

Diego Costa has warned Chelsea: Pay me what I’m worth or I’m off! The striker has returned to first-team training and is set to start against Hull on Sunday. However, he has only agreed to a truce on condition the club reopen negotiations over a new contract. (The Sun)

I'm happier with this than the story of him leaving in summer. Offer him 250k a week and lets be done with this.

The Summer looks to be very interesting and something worth keeping an eye on which could directly relate to the Costa situation is what happens to Antoine Griezmann. It looks as if he will be off after this season and there's been a lot of speculation about United pursuing him. Say they were to sign him for close to £100m as has been suggested then you can bet Atletico Madrid would be back in for Costa. All speculation on my part here but something worth bearing in mind.

If this is true then I agree with you. If Hazard earns £200k a week then Costa, IMO, deserves to earn as he is our most important player at the moment.

Did Costa take a wage cut last season when he wasn't worth half of what we were paying him ?

Got a feeling this was all a long game by that c**t Mendes to get even more wages from Chelsea for Costa than was being offered. Seems like he'll get his way in the end. I feel the club need to have some sort of clause that would reprimand him from rubbish behavior mid season. This is getting tiring.

Sorry just don't buy it 1.Because its the Sun and 2. He wanted a move back to Athleti in the summer, they wouldn't even pay him 100k so it makes no sense all of a sudden it's all about the money, he is on 185k according to some 150k according to others, if 150 sure put him up to 185 even 200k he is worth it, but, I think it's harder to win a game without Hazard than Diego and Hazard is on 200.

just a noob question regarding contract, says diego's contract ends till the end of 2018 earning 185k a week.. if he's to sign a new 4 years contract now worth 200k a week, does it mean the 200k a week comes into effect immediately, overwrite the previous contract?

Depends entirely on the contract, but since he is (at least rumoured to be) looking at a salary increase it would overwrite the current contract. A contract extension of his current deal makes little sense for any of the parties involved

Thought so, just wanted to make sure..  Can't single costa out for wanting increment, not much difference from what legends like lampard/terry did..  However, for 100mils, I'd have no problem losing him..
