A manager, especially one as high profile as Mourinho, will still have input into transfers.

You really think it's a coincidence that now Jose is there that they've signed an English centre forward that played for one of the teams he's formerly managed (twice).

Mou will say to him: I worked with Drogba, Milito, Ibra, Balotelli. What you need to do is bulk up. I want you to be a strong forward. The goalie puts a long ball, you drop it down and the team counters.

No Roma signed him, as with all big clubs now the Manager is just the head coach

Cannot agree more. Similar to Lukaku, Tuchel clearly has no input in this matter. Similar to Varane or Sancho, ogs clearly didn't want both.

This is just ridiculous post. When you make big signing the manager will always have some input.

- Time to get some pasta into him and bulk up,

- Learn how to moan in Italian,

- After Mourinho is sacked after 1,5 seasons, finish the season playing for a local club legend,

- Switch to another Serie A club where he really learns the striking business,

and he's ready for a return in - let's say - five years time.

Good luck Tammy!

Good on Tammy for trying his had in a league overseas.

Not many English players try their hand at playing outside of the UK.

He'll be just the 34th Englishman to have played in Serie A joining fellow former Blues Tomori, Ashley Cole, Jimmy Greaves, Ray Wilkins, Paul Elliot and Nathaniel Chalobah to have done so.

Always amazes me that, there's some stunning cities on the continent to live in for a few years and with how regular flights are you could quite easily pop back for a visit when you have a couple of days off.

In other words: "Tammy, you have two choices - be an arsehole or stop a civil war".

Exactly look what happened when we had Sarri and Conte

Jorginho, Higuain, Zappacosta, Emerson, tried to buy Sandro, Rugani, Nainggolan, and Koulibaly.

Incredible, I'd be chomping at the bit to go play abroad in my teens and early 20's

I would have loved to be 23 years old, living in Rome, and being paid £4M a year ... his life is turning out pretty good !

Best of luck Tammy.

I get that but I’d give it all up to lead the line for Chelsea and become a legend!

So would I, but then again we can stroll through the city and take in the sights without being mobbed by hordes wanting our autographs and taking selfies with us

Best of luck to him - Great opportunity for him in Italy to get a killer instinct and iron out the flaws in his game. Here is hoping that he is a massive success, turns into the best striker in the world, that we have first refusal on in a couple of years time....

Read all of Jose’s quotes on the signing, he congratulates Roma on the signing.

Jose doesn’t have the sway he once had, his career is on the downhill slope!

Best of luck to Tammy, his blood runs blue and he is a Chelsea boy. He never gave less than 100% for us. Never sulked and the way he celebrated the CL victory showed just how much it meant to him that Chelsea won. We have implemented some clever buy back clauses and who knows - never say never. If he does return he will be bigger in frame, more experienced and most likely more proficient as a striker. Just hope Jose does not destroy his confidence if he goes through a tough patch - hardly the nurturing type.
