He was superb under TT till his contract talks broke down. I remember him telling Chelsea fans 'not to worry', suggesting he was planning to stay, but then Barca came calling and his head went
April 21, 20224 yr 1 hour ago, just said: Don't be surprised if Newcastle hijack the Haaland deal axman. They have bags of dosh now. Also Haaland comes from Norway. That is near the north pole. So is Newcastle. Lol won't be enough, they are not in position to challange for the honours Haaland wants. He said as much when he dismissed a move to PSG, along with us, last summer.
April 24, 20224 yr Maybe it was just a stomach bug he had today, but it seems more like he had another problem with his anxiety. People take the piss out of him but I actually feel sorry for him. Anxiety is a mental illness, he shouldn't be mocked for it. It seems like something that is going to be a big problem for the remainder of his career.

In my teenage years I suffered from them. On a different note why is TT coming out and saying Toni is leaving but not saying what was known before this that AC is leaving? He does not have to say to Barca but why confirm that of Toni and not AC?
April 28, 20224 yr Confirmed he’s signing for Barcelona. 5 year contract. Not in the least bothered he’s gone other than timing. So Madrid have signed a Lion and Barca a Pussy
April 28, 20224 yr Glad to see the back of AC. He’s ok, decent but way too soft and gets bullied. Not sure the fans have ever really taken to him either.
April 28, 20224 yr Good. Again we miss out on a fee bit he will be a better defender in Spain than here. Better for him and Chelsea.
April 28, 20224 yr Given the way he played for us in the first year of TT's reign, I really thought he was the perfect long-term replacement for Silva in the centre of our back three. Cool head, good distributor, intelligent. Since the shenanigans over his contract started he's declined sharply and has looked the mentally and physically fragile player he was before TT arrived. I'm not happy he's leaving on a free, though. He's worth £40m at today's prices. I think he'll do well in Spain. I still think Ampadu can be a good addition next season. He's a quality player who deserves his chance after a few loans, and I've heard good things about his form at Venezia. He's always looked class for Wales. Chalobah should also continue to improve playing with the magnificent Silva , and everyone seems to rave about Colwill. Not seen anything of him so I can't comment. May 16, 20224 yr Can’t believe he refused to be part of the cup final squad with no injury or illness. Hope he doesn’t get selected for last couple of games as it would cause a bad atmosphere in the ground.

May 16, 20224 yr If what Richard said is true it makes zero sense. We know now we lost but beforehand he is giving up a chance to get a winners medal. Why refuse that bit play dirty Leeds who were far more likely to see him injured? Hmm Sky are reporting it, as well as his status for the last 2 games being uncertain: https://www.skysports.com/football/news/11668/12614300/andreas-christensen-chelsea-defender-stood-himself-down-from-selection-for-fa-cup-final-despite-not-being-injured Edited May 16, 20224 yr by axman2526

Of Pedro giving his all to get us to the UCL despite a contract and actually getting injured .This seems bizzare to be honest.
May 16, 20224 yr Little bit more info. Some in the media claim AC wanted to play, was informed by TT he would be on the bench, refused to be involved if he was not starting and then left the hotel. My Liverpool supporting mate found this all hilarious too. Have seen us called a "shower of sh*t" and a "laughing stock" that has been compared to United. Charming as ever. May 16, 20224 yr I'm leaving my job soon, might try 'standing myself down for selection' during my notice period. Good luck Andreas, you won't be missed.
May 16, 20224 yr Christensen has had stomach cramps all his career just before games. He clearly has a mental issue there as well. I think Sarri bluntly made that public. Anyway AC is a top player no doubt about it. I think he will do well in Spain. I wont miss him as I miss Rudiger but we have to give him credit for making it through our academy and playing at the highest level and winning the Champions League with us.
May 16, 20224 yr I think the only Chelsea player with a good enough reason to ‘stand themselves down’ is Fran Kirby and even she was on the bench yesterday despite having another bout of her mystery illness. Edited May 16, 20224 yr by Munkworth
May 16, 20224 yr Bet the Barca fans can’t wait for their club to be re-built around this sh*thouse. Definitely captain material for them.

Cannot wait for him to go I thought he did very good in the TT part of last season and was a good Thiago replacement to manage his minutes (and threat of injury) but I agree. He is not reliable enough to be first choice hence even a questionable back-up. Bit sad though that he couldn't take that final step. At least makes the parting way easier.. 😄 Edited May 16, 20224 yr by weetee
May 16, 20224 yr Modern day footballers man. Making stupid amounts of money, then whine and moan about not getting minutes.
May 16, 20224 yr 5 minutes ago, enigma said: Modern day footballers man. Making stupid amounts of money, then whine and moan about not getting minutes. Did he though? Don't follow British media but never heard he publicly complained. And to be honest: he's not getting the minutes because Thiago seems to be even more reliable than himself what wasn't really to be expected so nothing wrong to make a move to a top side at a beautiful city to become a starter for them. Would be strange if he'd rather be an expensive bench warmer here than a regular starter at Barca. No hard feelings from my part. I think we can even upgrade our defense that way to make a more flexible backline. Rüdiger leaving hurts, Christensen not so much.
May 16, 20224 yr Kind of glad he's leaving now, can't have players pulling out just before big matches so regularly. It messes up our preperations.
May 16, 20224 yr Disgraceful. So selfish. If I was Tuchel, I would put him in the starting line up for the remaining games and make him face the fans.
