Seemingly, and yes this is according to Twitter, Conte told the board half way into the summer that he was leaving.  So, they were going to look for a replacement, and put all transfer activity on hold.  Then when that didn't transpire, Chelsea were stuck with the transfers we ended up with.

I'm not sure of timelines and if this even makes sense, but thought I'd put it out there.

PSG want to win the CL. Conte has never gotten close to winning that trophy, seems nonsensical. 

If he leaves to build a super-team good luck to him. I'd love to have Enrique or Sarri replace him

Zero chance of this ever happening, this is his agent stirring the pot. PSG want to win the CL, why would they be after someone who has never gone beyond the round of 16? The owner also decides what star signings the club gets, so they wouldn’t be indulging his defensive needs. And no way Neymar sanctions him as his manager.

So they might have been in daycare together. It's a bit of an meaningless claim, "authority" or not.

Honigstein is very reliable so it's unlikely he's referencing something from a while ago. Falk, somebody who's even more reliable, has had this to say, which probably adds to the robustness:

Whether it is true or not, I would be amazed if the club haven’t started the recruitment process for Conte successor. 

Xaxaxa, Tucchel, that would be fun. I want to see people here, who was slamming Conte and was crying about the football, what we will do with Tuchel.

Sexy football s*** again. Same that happen with Villas Boas. Wasn`t Frank De Boer have the same philosophy of football ? We see what happen with him. Worst manager in the PL with zero scored goal and fired.

Sampaoli is the same, sexy football all over the place and disgrace result ....

After the bad first season, there wasnt a word in the media about Guardiola and about to being fired. Not a single one. While with us, the team had 2-3 bad result, and there is ton of speculation about manager is about to get kicked out.

This is big difference.

I said it right there, Tuchel is not good enough and will be fired after less then 1 full year at our club. I said it right there, we won`t find better manager then Conte, and after this fiasco, we will go step down. We can`t get world class players anymore, we won`t get world class manager anymore. That`s the true and the only guilty is the board.

They all need to be changed, started with that lady that knows nothing about football - Marina.

You seem to know an awful lot about the workings at Chelsea so could you enlighten me as to what Marina actually does at Chelsea? I don't actually know but a lot of people seem to slate her very harshly. Imo she's just a scape goat, same as Emenalo was, and gets criticised harshly.

Difference is Davey B, Spurs have won f**k all for soooooooooooooo long. No real pressure on Spurs Manager and everyone can say "what a good job he's doing" even though they end up as also rans every season with an empty trophy cabinet. Poch has no need to slag off Levy & Board 'cos he know's he's got a cushy job with low expectations.

Levy runs a transfer policy that makes ours look like PSG and City combined (and a lot of fans are using our policy to excuse Conte for being 5th). He may have won no trophies yet but he has them competing with the top teams at home and abroad and lets be honest here, if Gullit, Vialli or Ranieri got us to 2nd with 87 points in the pre Roman era we would have given them the freedom of West London.

Also there is still a lot of pressure at Spurs for manager's, not to the extent as here granted but Redknapp was sacked after finishing 4th, AVB months after finishing 5th with a points tally that most seasons would be enough for top 4 (and gave Spurs there highest tally in PL history until Poch broke it last season), Sherwood after 6th place and Jol after back to back 5th place finishes. All those were good results given Tottenham's transfer policy and wage structure but still didn't save them.

Maybe Nibs, but we've heard his complaints haven't we? Does he need to repeat them before EVERY game? Shouldn't he be focused on winning games? If it ain't working, CHANGE THE RECORD.

 

Imagine if Pochettino had come out and criticised Spurs for selling Walker last summer. Pochettino may have less pressure than Conte but he's ambitious, he wants to win trophies. I'm sure he wasn't happy about it. You get on with your job and you do the best you can for the club that pays you handsomely. It's called being a professional.

I too am a bit fed up with hearing the same thing from Conte but it's not as if that's ALL he talks about - the media just like to highlight that over everything else.

Poch has assembled a good squad at Spurs for relatively low cost but that's because he's been allowed to. No-one is saying to him you MUST win trophies, failure is NOT an option so he could try a few bargains and younger players plus got lucky with Kane and Ali coming so good. No Chelsea coach ever has that luxury - the pressure and expectations are at least 10 fold.

Thats a disgraceful statement from Conte. Shocking and shows his mindset. 

We should have sacked him after Bournemouth. He just doesn’t care. 

I expect him to be sacked tomorrow morning, bring Carlo in as interim. As slim a chance as we have to get top 4 now it is even slimmer with Conte leading us.

Needs to be sacked before the cup semi. He has given up and to say " we're having the season we deserve" is f**king criminal.

Surely the final nail in the coffin for him today. The FA Cup wouldn't be enough to save him; then again, I'd nearly rather lose to Southampton in the semi finals than to Spuds or Jose's United in the final, that would be the dingleberry on on the steaming pile of sh*te that is this season.

Conte breaking all our treasured records with impressive alacrity.

(1) After almost total domination over Arsenal they've beaten us about 5 times under his tutelage. He's basically become Wenger's bitch.

(2) Spurs no win at Stamford Bridge for almost 20 years. Conte sees that to an end.

(3) Messi never scored against us. Messi scores at SB and makes a mockery of us at Camp Nou.

He can't continue to make excuses for his incompetence this season because of our transfer window. He's just not as amazing a coach as he seems to think he is. Anyone who isn't CONTE OUT is just plain delusional at this point. 

Him being stubborn cost us this season. His tactics were easily being countered even by teams like Norwich, Didn't change a bit. Needs to be sacked immediately.

Joe Edwards must step up from U-23 atleast we'll get to see some attacking football

We are not Good enough to beat spurs or United in the fa cup so don't base the choice on that. 

Make him resign. No compo. Or put him on gardening leave.

I would honestly get someone else in just to give us the best chance of winning the FA Cup.
