Now we know why he was so negative against City. This team especially the "world-class" goalkeeper cannot defend an open game.

100%. Playing into City's hands doesn't work when your team isn't adept at playing that game is stupid and naive.

110% If you had played any other way we would have been slapped around alot worst that we were probably getting trashed about 4 or 5

Sadly this probably spells the end for him in the board's eyes. Shame to see how quickly we've come down hill after the heights last year.

Frankly there are only two candidates who I would take who would perhaps be equal to him and don't require a total reinvention of our style and culture. They are Allegri and Simeone. Sadly who would leave Juventus or Atletico's squads to come to us nowadays given our haphazard transfer strategy and mismatched expectations.

Thought he got his team selection and tactics spot on yesterday. Nice to see us actually attacking for once, would have been interesting to see if it had stayed 0-0 a bit longer though. Only issue was him taking Hazard off again. Sure he didn't do much but a player like him can create that moment of magic at any time. 3 goals down, if you want to bring Pedro on just take off Alonso like we did in the cup last year. Subbing Eden is just a waste.

only because they scored early we literally had no choice and Barca being up 4-1 on aggregate they can afford to be more pragmatic

I just find it interesting how Conte doesn't come in for more criticism by going for a very conservative approach at home and basically making it mission impossible at Camp Nou.

The home game was a very underwhelming performance by us but Conte through the media managed to paint it in a positive light. It really wasn't.  We didn't create anything meaningful and barely touched the ball. He also blundered by playing Hazard out of position but everyone has forgotten about it. We were never going to go past Barca but Conte has done a poor job. Even Basel v City looked more competitve than us vs Barcelona.

Sorry, mate, I usually like your posts, but did you even SEE the home game?  "didn't create anything meaningful" ???  We could have scored 3 or 4 with anything resembling a decent amount of luck.  How many times did we hit the post?  Hit the post and bar again last night.  I'm not saying we should have, or deserved to, win, but to downplay the home game because you don't like Conte is a bit much.

Barcelona and City away are the only games we are allowed to lose. Other than that win is expected. However if you win these games you write your name in the historybooks.

I actually thought the lads did really well apart from the dumb mistakes that handed them their goals. Even Conte's first two subs made sense and were timely. Of course then he had to make me scream at the TV by that f**king nonsensical Hazard substitution, just to remind me why I want him to f**k off back to Italy immediately.

I don't know whether it's poor fortune or just some barrier he has to get over,  but in cup competitions he seems to never know how to get over the line.

We did play well over two legs, but can't help but think maybe changing the formation and personnel should have been considered.

I am not sure what he sees in Moses any longer. Drinkwater would have been better over Fabregas, younger legs in midfield. Maybe even go to a four at the back with more attacking intent.

Barcelona could have been got at more last night imo, they wasn't so solid in drfence that they wouldn't have conceded. if there was more attacking threat it could have been a different story.

I would have started Zappacosta not Moses. Moses gets into positions and every single time without fail, he f**ks up the cross.

I want Zappacosta to play more games but I think Moses has a better delivery than Zappacosta. I would say it's the other way around when you compare them both, Zappa gets himself in better positions but he lacks the delivery at the end, whereas Moses doesn't get himself in good enough positions like Zappa does.

You have it all wrong, it’s the other way round. They are both average though.

Moses is better at 1 v 1's, but Zappa surprisingly has very good acceleration, but I've seen Zappa hit them over with too much power too many times for me to say he's got a better delivery than Moses. I don't think they're both average though, maybe for Chelsea standards that's debatable, but I think they're both decent players.

They're both sh*t at crossing. Zappacosta tries it a lot more often though, so eventually he gets one or two right.

Pretty much the definition of "what you like". Similar level. Similar qualities. One tries to cross all the time and gets it right sometimes, one doesn't and keeps possession more often.

When was the last time Moses actually beat a player!

Not on about Alonso. When was last time Moses scored a free kick, goal, or produced a great cross or pass? Now you've mentioned Marcos.

Saw a post or is it a tweet they are called? Possibly.

It said something about how Mou came to the club and put his arms around players like JT, Lampard, Drogba and told them they were the best in the world and they played that way but Conte has players like Hazard, Morata, Courtois, at and continually talks like we are a Sunday league team.

Thought that was funny and revealing too.

Its inevitable he's leaving at the end of the season. He throws the board and players under the bus at every opportunity he gets (did again in his last press conference).

And now he's saying the FA cup isnt important. I'm happy that he won the title last year and I think he's a good manager, but continuing to moan like this really speaks a lot about his character.

Last season was great but Conte has to go    At the end of this season.  Anyone who continues to play Bakayoko when it is obvious to everyone in the World that he cannot cut it is not fit to manage.   There, I said it.

I dont want him to stay either.

But for me its more due to his extremely negative approach and his complete unwillingness to rotate his squad
