Was a silly act that likely cost us millions in the progress. Not disputing the FA cup win, this was still one of the daftest moments during his tenure.
June 23, 20188 yr Be difficult to retrospectively punish Conte financially a year after something happened. Presumably the counter argument will be if the club took umbrage with it, why didn’t they intervene at the time? Dont think that story has any legs personally.
June 23, 20188 yr It's just grasping at straws and looking at every nook and cranny. Just pay the guy his compensation and be done with it. As much as Conte caused the Costa issues, Costa also wanted out and the club got 50m for him.

By TONY BANKS https://www.express.co.uk/sport/football/978284/chelsea-news-antonio-conte-sacking-contract-legal-loophole Sounds like nonsense. What's much more worrying is the speculation about Cudicini leaving if/when Conte leaves
June 23, 20188 yr It just embarrasses the club further and demonstrates the current sad state of affairs. We are probably heading into one of the worse disorganized seasons in the clubs history and the blames lies squarely at the feet of the owner and boardroom.
July 11, 20188 yr Allegedly there isn't a single mention of Conte in latest issue of the club's official magazine. Not going to lie, I think it's pretty shabby the way he's been treated and if he is to be sacked it'll be one of the worst handled sackings during the Roman era.

The worst part is that he's tasked with starting pre-season which we are now well into, before he's probably going to be replaced now so close to the season he's spent his summer preparing for. We should have done this the proper way and sacked him a couple of days after winning the FA-cup.

One week you're preparing for a new season with one coaching team, the following week with a completely different one. Must be really disruptive for everyone involved. I'm just bemused at how it's all been handled in truth, the club statement when they release Conte is going to be interesting.
July 11, 20188 yr No mention of Conte on the CFC site normally you have some feedback from manager on website to start pre season very strange

He should not be at Cobham right now and we should have put him out of his misery a long time ago. Also wierd for the players to have Conte coach them for three-four days before a completely different manager comes in with an entirely different style and approach to everything.

We had to endure Conte's misery from December to about April last season so i'm sure Conte can put up with a couple of days pre-season misery whilst he picks up his millions of £'s.

Still better than the mid season we are used to doing it in. Although I probably shouldn't speak so soon

The club have basically told him to prepare the club for pre season even though they don't want him. I bet the atmosphere in training has been very tense and awkward over the last few days.
July 11, 20188 yr We certainly have been ruthless with Antonio. It does leave a bit of a bad taste in the mouth in how we have gone about this after what he gave us (which in the grand scheme of things was remarkable) however I’m not all sympathy because Antonio himself was rather ruthless with the whole Costa text ect. It’s a shame it has come to this for Antonio because there isn’t too many managers in our history who the fans have taken to like Antonio, hopefully whatever happens his achievement and supporter recognition won’t be forgotten.
July 11, 20188 yr Yep it's that weird moment you know he your boss is gone but still here and you don't know what to say to him. But I could see why they let him start pre season because they want to be seen as business as usual I agree, farcical really. Yes, but I felt the writing was on the wall when he didn't extend his contract. He doesn't want to be here anymore than the board want him to.
July 11, 20188 yr 1 hour ago, just said: Roman has lost much of his interest. Just my opinion. He is caught between the Hammer and the Anvil. He needs to keep on good terms with Putin just at the time the British Government is demonising the Russians.
