If the FA want to start banning Chelsea fans then they need to start banning none Jewish Tottenham fans that use the word. They have as much right as us. All or nothing FA, stamp down on the word everywhere or not at all.

Fixed it for you... it doesn't matter if you're Jewish or not....

Hi Everyone
I just wanted to see what everyone has been thinking about the reaction to the morata chant that was sung at Leicester using the word that spurs fan call them selves all the time?
Apparently there will be bans for any fans seen singing the song? Which means the whole away end is expecting a ban I'd imagine?

Honestly man I don't know what the fans were singing about morata I didn't watch the Chelsea match on Saturday, I just want to know what song did the fans sang at Leicester?

"He comes from Real Madrid, he hates the f**king y*ds"

I was in the away end Saturday and it wasn't a 'small minority' singing the song - it was very loud. I personally don't have a problem with the song but if the club and Morata make it clear they don't want it sung then that's fine.

What I have a problem with is the idea that people might get banned for it - fans will naturally self-censor after what Morata and the club said. I can guarantee you that if it gets started at another away there'll be loads of people shushing and trying to sing something over it, and the song will die and a new one will take its place.

You can't ban thousands of people - and what about anyone singing 'Barcelona, Real Madrid, Tottenham are a load of y*ds'? What about 'there's no bacon at the Lane' while we're at it? I think we're all sensible enough to know that thousands of people in that away end are not anti-Semites.

The point is they've successfully nipped it in the bud by condemning it - no need to ban an arbitrary handful of unlucky people out of 3,300. It's a complete overreaction. Say you don't want it sung - and yes, this will always be a tricky issue while Tottenham still call themselves y*ds, and move on.

Up the Chels.

Do toe-pokers count, and tap in's ? What about scuffed goals, or off the shin goals ?

A headed goal can be the most beautiful thing in the whole of sport.

What's wrong with praising our players when they contribute to the team?

Hoping for improvement is fine but to put a wet towel on just for the sake of it is hardly what a fan should do

The club knows that, it's just to scare the parts of the fanbase that are adamant on it is all. I agree that the Spuds should be reprimanded too since they have a song about being a y*d lol, but we should do our part first

On Morata, he himself has admitted he needs time to adapt to the league, not that i have a problem with his ability with the ball on the deck, i think he's pretty damd good. Have every confidence it's going to come and in the mean time the fact that he's so good in the air takes a lot of the pressure of him. Problem we have is Dave is the only one who can actually put a cross in (it was him who put the sitter in against spurs right)

Moses, Alonso and Pedro made Crossing look very very hard this weekend....

Exactly. There's a time and place to have a go at them but it's stupid, let's be fair how many of them are actually jewish these days.

Especially when you look at rangers and Celtic's religious fan base.

Maybe it's one of those days. Fabregas' corners were really poor too.

Not excusing the ant-Semitic behaviour but how many people singing that song on Saturday actually have a hatred towards Jewish people? Surely Chelsea have to use their heads here and make the right noises with regards to public statements etc and just move on. I really don't understand why this has come to light now when the 'y word' gets sung at every game home or away for the past god knows how many years.

As a Chelsea fan let the guy score as much as he wants but he needs improvement actually because all the goal he has scored were heads only,

This is exactly what I think. How many people genuinely sung that song to offend Jewish people? I don't think the song should be sung again but I don't think any bans need to be put in place.

Do headed goals count for less? Frankly if he scores 30 headed goals this season I would be more than happy.

Besides the goal, I was disappointed in his performance. His first two games he was good, however, still needs time to settle and gain the confidence like he had at Madrid/Juventus where he was capable of running at players, he's a bit hesitant on the ball right now. All that being said I've done nothing but praise him on this forum and I think he's the best signing we've made this season by far, he'll live up the price tag in today's market.

If he never scored the goal people would have said it was a terrible performance, fans can be very fickle when it comes to strikers, Costa's goals used to cloud everyone's judgement on his actual overall play. What we need is a forward that can actually link well with the attackers, Tottenham have Harry Kane, City have Aguero, Liverpool have Firminho & so on. Once he settles and we have Hazard at full fitness which I believe will be very shortly I am very confident we can dominate a lot of teams in the division.

I agree with you on that but my point is the premier league is tough so he needs improvement

While I do love Alvaro's headed goals, showing how he can get into the right positions.
I think we really need to see him score with his feet quite soon.
