January 6, 201610 yr Think we can safely assume we won't see Jose again Not good enough Brit. With Roman making the calls I want an assurance we won't see Benitez again.
January 7, 201610 yr We had our chance with Jose and we blew it. Not to mention that for him to come back in a year or 2, we would need an incredible squad overhaul. Cant imagine he'd be keen to link up with too many of our current squad again after what they did for him this year. Or, rather, didnt do for him.

Sad the way it ended, but come on, you're not telling me that Mourinho was completely blameless? Sorry, but he has to shoulder a fair part of the blame for the way things turned out, as ALL managers have to in such situations. Edited January 7, 201610 yr by Nibs

Thought it was part of a managers job discription to manage & direct his players & staff to all work in harmony, not have little cival wars with them & then lamblast them in public for no good reason.

Sorry, but he has to shoulder a fair part of the blame for the way things turned out, as ALL managers have to in such situations. The problem is Nibs, everyone makes mistakes, you have to decide if you can tolerate them because the good out weighs the bad. For me Jose had earn't the right to have a bum season. Look, I am as a fully signed up Jose fan boy club. I believe he is by some way the best manager in the world. I believe that given the chance we would have had a great season under him next season had we stood by him, and especially for your self history has proven that in order to develop youth as a top side you need a manager who is very very stable in his job. Maybe Jose would never have done any of the above, never mind he's gone. and even I have moved on (kinda ) He is NEVER coming back and I hope that one day we get a manager we can connect with as much that is on a similer level. For me there are 3 options that I'm aware of, Gus to continue - lets see how he goes but it's not a bad option at all, especially when you think about the other managers in the league. Pep to come in, don't rate him like others do but my respect for him will sky rocket if he puts his reputation at risk because that's what he will be doing Simeoni - for me the best option but if you hate the Jose circus, this guy makes Jose look like a PG Film (In the 80's) Who ever it is, as long as its not Rafa. I'm behind them
January 8, 201610 yr God no. He had to go. An antiquated, outmoded manager, a tactical coward and an unhealthy presence for any club. His time as a top manager is over and if he doesn't have a re-think and reinvent himself, then it will stay that way.
January 8, 201610 yr still a chelsea legend regardless of the part he played in the shambles that is this season, but time for everyone to move on once and for all...

I have heard that line a lot and to an extent I do agree. No club has the devine right to expect success every season so I think if we had struggled and ended up with nothing this season it wouldn't have been a major problem. As you say, he had earnt it. But there are bum seasons and BUM seasons! We were playing some shocking football - couldn't buy a win and were looking very much relegation candidates. And if that wasn't bad enough, there were the problems with officials, players, medical staff - it was just a complete car-crash of a situation that didn't really show any signs of improving. However good a manager is (or may have been), I don't think anyone could expect to survive that. I didn't want Jose to go, hoped he would build a dynasty etc, but for the record, in December I had serious concerns that we could get relegated this season. I don't now have such concerns. January 8, 201610 yr If he was 6/7th, he wouldn't have got sacked. Things were really bad and only getting worse.
January 8, 201610 yr as a manager he is never going to go more than 3 or 4 seasons, maybe if he managed a national team he might last longer but at club level he just loses it. if he ever came back again we would be a laughing stock !!
January 9, 201610 yr No thanks don't want him back. His sacking for me was closure for me in all honesty. I saw a side to him this season that I really didn't like and with so much negative press coupled with soooo many defeats, he needed the sack. I love him for what he has done but his special one status faded and it was all self inflicted which is the sad thing.
January 9, 201610 yr barak, at the time you were an advocate of ancelotti losing his job after his second season. in that season we finished 2nd, (9 points off the top spot) and he blooded a few youngsters including giving a 17 year old mceachran nearly 20 games. he also had his assistant removed without his say, and a number of first team players sold without being replaced. the season before he won the double. would you say in hindsight your position was wrong, and if not, why didn't he deserve a 'bum season'? because under jose we have been far, far, far, far, far worse this season. January 10, 201610 yr i have no doubt that wilkins getting fired cost carlo back to back prems That was probably the only sacking decision that the board got it wrong, terribly wrong..

I don't know his reason why he wanted him sacked but for me at that time, carlo looked like someone who lost the respect of the players because of his lack of 'power' and/or' desire in preventing wilkin get the boot.. I wanted him sacked back in november at that time because I felt we could still save the season by galvanizing the atmosphere of the dressing room, that so called 'bad moment' lasted about 4 months long, that's too long to be called as bad moment, something's not right, maybe just maybe that carlo did have something to do with wilkin got the boot.. We finished 2nd but trophyless and I had to say that 2nd position was achieved with quite a low points tally.. Success isn't guaranteed and I don't think everyone is so fickle about sacking manager when they don't win.. we want manager sacked mainly because the relationship between the manager and the players are not the same anymore, that's only 1 option when it comes to that..
January 17, 201610 yr "Mourinho was moved to tears by the tributes and gave a long, emotional speech about how happy he was to be back at Chelsea and managing in the country where he liked it best. This was the place for him, he said. But it was his final line that lingered in the memory. “It is not a threat,” he said, “but if they sack me, I will stay in England and go to another club, a possible rival.” It was, Mourinho said, a “warning” and it was the same again last season, with Chelsea on the way to the championship and no indication whatsoever about the way everything would subsequently unravel. “If one day he [Roman Abramovich] tells me: ‘José, it’s enough’ I will go to my house in London and wait for another English club. When I left the first time I had lots of countries to go to and lots of clubs to go to. In this moment, I have another 19 clubs in the Premier League and the clubs in the Championship.” Just read an article with this in it. I dont need to tell you how uneasy it makes me feel

January 17, 201610 yr Really not worried about 19 other clubs, just the one that plays at OT An associate of ours told us yesterday, with conviction, Jose is heading to Man U. I want to believe it's a wind up, but knowing this chap's life and work, there could just be something in it; I hope it's wrong.
January 17, 201610 yr It's going to happen. United are desperate and LVG is only getting worse. They'll end up with Jose and we'll end up with a journeyman. Next season will be..fun.

The chances of LVG being fired is good, but rumors are MU is not that keen on Mourinho. Ofcourse the lack of trophies and City getting Pep might force them to reconsider. Right now, There is also a good chance that they may give Giggs a chance.
