February 4, 20179 yr "I don’t like my club to participate in impossible deals. It is a waste of time, it is a gift to these impossible players and to their agents to have a club like Manchester United interested in them. It just helps them to improve their situation, but it does not help us at all so I am very realistic, I am very objective."
February 4, 20179 yr I just looked up their form on Statto.com they are unbeaten in 14 and on their best run for 8 years. The majority of United fans think he is doing a good job turning around the car wreck they have been since old red nose retired. The board back him again like they did last summer I reckon they will only get better. IMO people who write Mourinho off and say he is a crap manager are wrong.
February 4, 20179 yr 38 minutes ago, just said: The majority of United fans think he is doing a good job Well they would wouldn't they ? What hope do they have if Jose fails ? They have to believe in him. But how long has he got ? Going to be tough for him to get top 4 (not impossible), if so next season the honeymoon is over and the real pressure begins. The trouble for him and manyoo, their are FIVE other clubs now in the league who have top managers and impressive teams. It's Mourinho' biggest and toughest test of his managerial career.

February 5, 20179 yr Quote "Do you think I can go to Tottenham and bring two Tottenham players to kill Tottenham? I cannot. I cannot go to Arsenal and bring the two best Arsenal players. I cannot go to Chelsea and bring two of the players that I love very very much. That time is over. " Who are those 2 players? Cesc & Costa? Willian & Azpi??
February 5, 20179 yr They need to give him one more season but he needs to win the title next season or at least challenge till the end.
February 5, 20179 yr He'll win the league cup and I honestly think he'll win the Europa League (which is a trophy United have never won).

Didn't mourinho himself dismiss our europa league win when he took over in his second spell? We won the Europa league and finished 4th under Benitez but it certainly wasn't a good season.

We finished 3rd not 4th that season. That wasn't a great season because we were on to win so much more but it was still a decent season. United have been out of the title race for a long while so winning the EL would be a much better thing than finishing Top 4. He'd be delivering a trophy United have never won in the EL (UEFA Cup). Winning trophies breeds confidence and can lead to bigger titles/trophies. I'd rather win those two trophies and finish 10th than finish top 4 and win nothing. If you deliver silverware it's a good season.
February 5, 20179 yr Fair enough. But I reckon he was brought in to take the club to the league and champions league summit not win cup trophies that most clubs don't take seriously.

He probably was but at the same time there will have been people at United who thought Champions League was the aim and if he does that via the EL then they will have met those expectations. But of course they have to win that or get top 4. We'll that's on those clubs I certianly do as a fan and I know the history books talk about the winners.

There the sort of cups if your club wins them then you let other fans know your club has won silverware and there brilliant. If another club wins them there not so good, clubs don't care etc.

February 6, 20179 yr “You know, my team is playing very well,” Mourinho began. “But for many, many years in my career, especially in this country, when my teams were ruthless, and when my teams were phenomenal defensively and very good on the counter-attack, I listened week after week that it was not enough, in spite of winning the title three times. It looks like this season to be phenomenal defensively and good on the counter-attack, is art so it was a big change in England.” http://www.independent.co.uk/sport/football/premier-league/manchester-united-jose-mourinho-leicester-defending-art-a7564256.html

Even after finishing trophyless and out of top 4? I would like see MU miss next season CL under jose so we all can see how the top management at MU handle the situation.. His predecessors got sacked for failure to deliver CL, it'd be intriguing to see how that pans out.. It's also intriguing to see the kind of excuse of his fanboys come up with for his failure after spending such fortune, the so called excuse for his failure in his previous club.. Normally I'd like spurs and MU to miss the top 4 among the top 6 but in order to boost our chance getting sanchez, I think it's better if arsenal in place of spurs to miss the top 4.. spurs can get 4th and then knocked out in CL Group stage qualifying game or maybe if leicester won the CL, does that mean spurs would have the same fate as we did to them??
February 6, 20179 yr I love Jose but the guy keeps shooting off his big mouth every chance he is up a little. Do your work man. Why do you have to keep deriding your opponents? Getting tiring now.
February 6, 20179 yr Pressure is getting to him, doesn't like the fact we are getting praise with the players he had. The side of Jose that brings him down sadly, always been the same. Still the longer he is like this shows we are winning and doing well. If I were him I'd be more concerned with those around him like Arsenal, City, Spuds and Pool....scrap for 4th
February 6, 20179 yr I wonder where he'll go next when Utd finally gets tired of his sh*t. None of the other top top 6 will have him. Can't go back to Spain, or Germany so I guess Italy will be his next destination. Or he could always cash in and go to China.
February 6, 20179 yr Im not quite sure what Mourinho is going on about because I thought the team that won the double premier leagues was a machine and probably the best defence the league has seen only conceding 15 goals was it? Did anyone say it wasn't enough? It was the only team who could give Barca a run for there money. It made Fergie sit up and take notice. Yes it was counter attacking team with players like Robben and Duff but I found them a joy to watch specially when your winning and breaking records. Contes team is very similar where it's great defensively and quick on the counter.

At times, Jose sides have played some great attacking football - especially in the Robben, Cole & Duff days. But as time has gone on, his sides did become more renowned for seeing games out. Go 1-0 up - bring on Mikel. He has his own cautious ways to blame for that. This current Chelsea team and Conte are getting loads of plaudits right now and rightly so because Conte has found the right balance. That must be really eating away at Jose but again he only has himself to blame. People used to love him - he was a breath of fresh air but the arrogant / surly attitude means folk like to see him struggle whereas Conte has been class from day one and everyone loves the guy. That could all change when we start lifting trophies and more pressure comes but let's hope it stays like this FOREVER!!
February 6, 20179 yr I think that a lot of you people need to actually READ what the man said in this last article. He's not cracking on us, but the way that the media flip-flop as to what and who they praise and what and who they slate. He is right, previously the way that we are playing now was criticised in the press and by TV pundits and opposition fans as functional, brutish and not very entertaining. It happens that Mourinho was in charge of us at the time, and just look back at the comments in here in the second half of our last championship season. Wingeing about the style of play was rife. Now we are doing it with just a little more style and panache, the press and pundits are loving it, and so Mourinho is abusing the press for their change in attitude and their hypocrisy. Not EVERYTHING he says is a dig at us. We need to get a thicker skin and not be quite so touchy. That said, I agree that he does appear to be losing it generally.
