Jose Mourinho thread

I don't think Jose will turn against us. He has too much history with us and it is mostly good. Fans still love him and if our brilliant track record of cheering our old stars is intact Jose will love playing away at SB.

i don't think ferguson being there will make much of a difference tbh. i can see those two clashing sooner or later as well, at least disagreeing at some point. whether they are friends or not is irrevelant, jose is stuck in his ways and is a stubborn guy, he won't like his work being critiqued by ferguson and their hierarchy. i would say having too many football people involved at utd could be their downfall with jose at the helm.

Just don't know how to react when he will be sitting in the opposition dug out, as Man U manager.  It will be weird.

I can't see him winning much at Utd. Not with City getting Pep, Klopp having a summer to build, Tottenham looking stronger and all the dark horses like Leicester, West Ham, Southampton etc..

Wherever Pep goes he tends to dominate domestically so i can't really see anyone getting the better of him for the next two years or so.

We've seen how Utd fans reacted to LvG's 'philosophy' of boring football so just imagine what it'll be like under Mourinho. Sure, he might win an FA cup or league cup but i highly doubt he'l dominate. I'm giving him 3 years maximum.

Someone give me odds on Mourinho to have a mental breakdown in the next 4 years please.

Lol. I can dominate with Bayern and a supercharged Messi, Xavi and Iniesta in my side.

Against a prime Ronaldo and all the money Real were splashing at the time it was no easy task. Bayern is slightly easier domestically but once again Dortmund aren't exactly push overs so to finish 10 points ahead is impressive.

I don't think he'll have the same problems there. He will build a dynasty at man utd and be there for years to come. In the end he'll be remembered as man utd legend, not chelsea. Same goes for Mata

Nothing in his resume suggests he's capable of building dynasties. Jose is well known for achieving fast success anywhere he goes, but his methods and personality don't make a good mix for a long term work in the same club.

I don't find it impressive when you buy the best players from your only competitor every year so that they have to retool.

I think I was more concerned about Lampard going to City and Cech going to Arsenal, than I am about Mourinho going to United.

The landscape has changed a lot in the premier league, everyone has money to spend including the so called smaller clubs. Mourinho is a vast improvement on Moyes and LVG, lets not kid ourselves, but he is not a miracle worker. His first two seasons at Chelsea coincided with an unprecedented occurrence in Abramovich turning up and blowing the old cartel of Man utd and Arsenal out of the water, admittedly it took a season under Ranieri for us to get up to scratch and Mourinho benefitted from the groundwork to some degree.

Before he was realistically only up against two other clubs, now there are at least 5 clubs who could challenge for the title.

I was gutted when he got sacked this time, and tended to blame the players, but there was an obvious behind the scenes problem and his man management skills deserted him. I hope he fails miserably at United, But I'll always respect what he did for us.

Also remember that Jose thrives on controversy. It's where he gets his motivation from. You can see it throughout his career. It's hard to see that happening long term. Apparently he refused a behaviour clause in his contract with United.

Funny thing is, he is the opposite of United supposedly philophsy.

- Negative, defensive football

- Risk adverse

- Doesn't promote youth and is very selective if he does.

He'll turn against whoever he feels like. He's not our manager anymore, in fact, now winning against Chelsea will become a matter of principle for him. People need to stop fantacizing about Jose and his 'eternal love for CFC'. Mourinho's ego is too big for those kind of things.

Ignoring Real Madrid and dominating world football then?

Real Madrid have one league title in the last 8 years. They don't dominate their own league never mind the world.

Ignoring Real Madrid and dominating world football then?

Real Madrid was and is a circus. Another matter is I think Messi is definitely superior to Ronaldo. Barca are a very well run club where all.the parts fit in seamlessly because everyone follows their ideology from birth. A prime Xavi and Iniesta is half of the battle won. Also the reason Spain was so successful during that time. Madrid is more of an amalgamation of best players who may or may not fit. Ask any Madrid fan and they will say the same. The club buys without any long term plan in sight.

That is why even teams like Atletico with vastly inferior resources are pipping them to the title.

And what world domination??

They don't dominate their league largely because of what Pep built at Barca. Yes, he inherited great players but he took them from great to world beaters. Real had won the league the two years prior to Pep and Atletico managed to win it once he'd left.

World domination such as 3 la liga's, 2 Champions leagues, 2 Super cups, 2 club world cups. They lpretty won everything at every level of football under Pep. He revolutionised Barca.

It's going to be interesting watching Pep vs Jose again but I don't think they will have a grip on the Premier League like that had in Spain. I think Jose is going to be a big success at Utd if they let him work. He's not a stupid man and I imagine he's going to learn from the mistakes he made here in his 2nd run and become a better manager for it.

But guess who won it while he was still there

I dont think Jose has any grounds whatsoever to hold any ill feelings towards us.

The PR disasters he brought on the club were an embarrassment and we stuck by him, until he had us down in 17th, 4 wins from 16 games, horrendous toxic atmosphere, the trigger simply had to be pulled.

He should stay respectful. If he has any grace he will, but will he....

One things for sure - he'll still hate Wenger, he'll still hate Pep, he'll still hate the FA, referees, Liverpool etc etc ..........he'll hate everyone who is a remote threat and in the end that has proven time and time again to cause problems for himself and the club he represents.

You say that as though it's a bad thing. I mean, come on, we also hate Wenger, Pep, the FA, refs, and ruddy Liverpool!

I'm sorry, but anyone here who thinks that Pep will dominate domestically for the next few years must have absolutely no knowledge about English football whatsoever. Being successful in Spain and Germany is all well and good...but the Premier League is where a manager really has to prove himself. Things are different over here. Very, very different. Leicester City winning the League last year proves my point... Anything can happen in the Premier League.

You mean Mourinho on his third attempt after spending hundreds of millions of euro's?

It's not like Pep didn't spend as well.

Also ignores all the other managers who spent hundreds of millions and won squat.
