The history argument comes out because fans are jealous, let them be jealous it's means your club is usually doing great ::ChELSeAFaN::

I'm really hoping Huddersfield get promoted.

In an argument last year with a Liverpool fan about "big club" "history" etc I compared Liverpool to Huddersfield who after all were a big club in the 1920s.

My argument was roughly we are now 40 years past Liverpool's heyday. Just as in the 1970s we were roughly 40 years past Huddersfields heyday.

History is pretty irrelevant unless you're not winning anything now.

Harry Redknapp wants to sign Benoit Assou-Ekotto — but defender is more interested in becoming a porn star

Surely we are not getting a better headline that this during the summer transfer window?!

That's awesome

Interesting debate on Talksport yesterday, which is bigger? The FA Cup or the Championship Playoff final?

FA Cup victory gives you the chance to win José's new favorite trophy and join the suddenly prestigious Euro League. Do neutrals care much as much about the playoff final? It is a bigger payday though

Huddersfield are my local team, be great for the town to have top flight football.

I'll be a Northerner for the day on Monday.

am i the only one here that was even just a little slightly impressed by how fast city got the silva deal done and what looks like a swoop for another 3 players that is still TBA at the moment but looking to be done in the near future?

or maybe the memory of the last 2 summers is lingering in a my mind a little too much going from signing virtually no one except pedro in 2015 and then signing people in 2016 but kante aside they were all side options after not getting the original targets we wanted in the first place. i know its all a moot point now since conte can virtually turn dog piss into gold but i want to see us get in the transfer market aggressively and get our business done nice and quick like morning sex before you gotta go to work

We have an FA cup final to prepare for so we would only realistically confirm targets when our season is actually over.

Will be interesting to see how Aaron Mooy performs with them in the PL should they get promoted.

Huddersfield are my uncle's team, but my dad (his brother) supports Wednesday.

Good points Erskblue and I believe everything is cyclical and some of those clubs with glories in the past may yet resurface in the near future.

After all it took Chelsea 24 years to win a major trophy again.

Preston North End last won a major trophy in 1938. The FA Cup.

They last won the top league championship in 1889/90 !

However I respect their club and it's history.

heard marco reus may have ruptured his cruciate ligament in the german cup. jesus, that guy is just not destined for a long term career in football is he, such a shame.

Been reading that both you and us are interested in Perisic... I barely watch italian football so I can't say much, but redcafe are fuming and especially for the amount of money being mentioned. Do you guys rate him? We've also been linked with Moura and Douglas Costa... I know it's all just rumours. But I'd choose Costa every day of the week if I had to go for one of those three

just take a look at the perisic thread here, reaction's pretty much the same as in redcafe

didn't watch any inter match this season so i have no opinion of him

honestly costa and moura are both very good when in form, but again it's consistency. i don't watch inter so couldn't comment on perisic, but it sounds like he is inconsistent too. then again, how many players apart from messi and ronaldo are consistent week in, week out? very difficult to find such a player

perisic is quick and direct + has a high work rate. would work well with a player like fabregas where he can run into channels and hes also a decent crosser, to be honest, looking at our squad, we don't really have a player like him that can offer that type of threat (pedro would be the closest). wouldnt improve the quality of our squad however, besides being another number on the bench and we need to be targeting better players

Here's Alba again. This is even more ridiculous than previos week. Enjoy

He's a cheating little sh*t, but this time i think he is just throwing himself to the floor because he knew that if the defender didn't clear it, he was in. I don't think he was trying to get a penalty.
