July 25, 20169 yr Everton are in a strange position. They have more money than they usually have, however they still have to abide by ffp if they want to avoid sanctions, should they reach their goal of getting into Europe. I also think they will struggle to attract the calibre of player they need to reach top 4, and throwing big contracts at new players would result in pay rises for the rest of the squad. Koulibaly needs to put in a formal request to try and force the issue, however we know what napoli's president is like, any club will still pay an astromical fee, and its still possible napoli will just refuse to sell.
July 25, 20169 yr As I said above Napoli don't sell cheap. How can you say what Everton won't be spending when it's highly likely Stones is going to City for that sort of money plus their owner is a billionaire? John Stones is English. We know the ridiculous values english players are sold for. Common mate, Roman isn't exactly a pauper. Edited July 25, 20169 yr by summer is coming
July 25, 20169 yr Well he will be going for whatever Everton sell Stones for. It's going to end up costing more than the fee we were willing to pay last season. If it's a bidding war I can see Everton coming out on top. Just because Everton will receive a high fee for Stones doesn't necessarily mean they'll blow it all on one player, especially when they know City are paying overs for him.
July 25, 20169 yr John Stones is English. We know the ridiculous values english players are sold for. Common mate, Roman isn't exactly a pauper. I never said he was but you said Everton won't pay that money but it's clear have tons of money and a 50 million fee coming there way so of course they can spend that on a replacement if they want to. Our problem is we still have a few players we require to come in by all accounts so I don't see us spending crazy money on any 1 player.
July 25, 20169 yr Just because Everton will receive a high fee for Stones doesn't necessarily mean they'll blow it all on one player, especially when they know City are paying overs for him.Of course not but they could if they wanted to and that's the point. Their owner has already said there will be significant investment so I can only assume players will be bought and ones that can get them into the top 4. City done the same way back when. FFP will mean it won't be on that scale but it wont affect them too much if they spend the money they get for Stones on this boy. Edited July 25, 20169 yr by Chelsbear
July 25, 20169 yr I say we should get him whatever the cost is. We need to strengthen desperately at the back. And it will come with a price, nothing will come cheap.
July 25, 20169 yr De Laurentis is an Italian version of Daniel Levy, he's a nightmare to deal with, this one may drag on for a while and may still come to nothing.
July 25, 20169 yr Chalobah did go to Napoli on loan so we have some relations with them... Didn't he hardly feature? Relations might not be that good
July 26, 20169 yr Didn't he hardly feature? Relations might not be that good Yes but by all accounts they treated him very well, he was enjoying his time at the club and the club enjoyed having him there. They were impressed enough that they put a bid in for him so it can't have been as bad as the lack of game time suggests.
July 26, 20169 yr @ChelseaFC are favourites to sign @sscnapoli's Kalidou Koulibaly, he has a price tag of €45m (£36.6m). #cfc
July 26, 20169 yr If thats the price, just get it done Exactly. We need a defender, and in this day and age that price is as cheap as you're going to get for a quality defender. Let's not turn this into another Stones situation. Either get it done or look elsewhere.
July 26, 20169 yr Anyhow new stories today that moulin alt will be Chelsea player. Is he any good? I heard he's great on Football Manager
July 26, 20169 yr hope we sign Koulibaly, it's an ok price at 37 million given the current prices. We need to complete the squad ASAP so all players can have a good pre-season.
July 26, 20169 yr Now that Higuain to Juve is all but confirmed this could well affect this possible deal? Pretty sure Napoil are not going to want to lose two important players in the space of a few weeks. I do hope we have alternatives. Edited July 26, 20169 yr by bjd

Pretty sure Napoil are not going to want to lose two important players in the space of a few weeks. I do hope we have alternatives. Apparently its that what is the final push to Kalidous decision to leave. He wants to win titles and Napoli have basically surrendered the title with that sale.
July 27, 20169 yr Now that Higuain to Juve is all but confirmed this could well affect this possible deal? Pretty sure Napoil are not going to want to lose two important players in the space of a few weeks. I do hope we have alternatives. It's at least early enough in the window for them to get some quality replacements, which they should be able to do with the funds they would receive from both sales.
July 27, 20169 yr Jon Stakes will be sniffing African heritage and demanding signatures. I think he's still pissed we never signed Asamoah!
