June 8, 201610 yr Release clause in Prem? Isn't that something they do in Spain... Remy had a release that we payed.
June 8, 201610 yr Release clause in Prem? Isn't that something they do in Spain... Vardy has one too. Obviously something Leicester liked to do.
June 9, 201610 yr Big difference in style, playing for Leicester and coming to a 'top team'. Would of done a lot of shielding and breaking up play in defensive third for foxes. Can he do this higher up the pitch, and offer solid technical ability. I think there are better options.

June 9, 201610 yr Leicester won the league . . . . . . . He does have a point. They ovbiously did win the league but they won by sitting back and countering at pace. Its "easy" to be a defensive midfielder when the whole team is sitting deep, there is a limited amount of space you need to cover and if you screw up there is often someone there to save you. Mikel has often been absolutely outstanding for us in games where we park the bus and stay low for example. Its going to be different for him playing in in a team that will have more posession and that are looking to win back the ball before they even get into our half.

And Conte has just come out saying he doesn't do counter attacking football!
June 9, 201610 yr Leicester won the league . . . . . . . Very Observant. They won playing good counter attacking football. Kante would find himself in a compeletely different role at Chelsea.
June 9, 201610 yr Very Observant. They won playing good counter attacking football. Kante would find himself in a compeletely different role at Chelsea. Thanks, probably my finest trait. I think it's a bit of an insult to Leicester to not call them a top team after winning the league, while all the 'top' teams floundered. They won playing counter attacking football, yes, but Kante was winning the ball all over the pitch, a lot of his ball winning tackles were coming in and around the halfway line, not just on the edge of their own box. He has the energy to get up and down the pitch, and no matter what style of football you play, that is key for a central midfielder. He's also decent with the ball and can make driving runs, and can pick out a pass at the end of it. He'd be an addition to any side, and if we want to get back to being a 'top' side, we have to aim for players who will improve us and who are realistic targets. We're limited in our pool of talent to pick from due to not having European football, so adding someone like Kante who is undoubtedly quality and is attainable for a low enough fee, would be good business

Especially when the fee is £20m ish. No doubting about needing to add energy to the midfield. Just worry about Kante technically.

June 10, 201610 yr Similar player. Only older, more expensive and had never played in the prem. Id rather have Kanté
June 10, 201610 yr Dear oh dear. People thinking Kante just breaks up play. The guy is the complete midfielder; of last season wasn't a fluke. Sign him before the Euros.
June 10, 201610 yr Prefer Naingollan. Similar mould of player. Kante just turned 25, Radja just turned 28. Kante's fee seems to be 20mil pounds, Radja's would be 40mil pounds. I get what you are saying and honestly, I would prefer Radja too, but that transfer saga seems to be going poorly for us. If we can get Kante, then well and good.
June 10, 201610 yr I think it's time top form the Kanté fan club and start the Kanté for Chelsea campaign. Who's with me?
