I mean, the option was Danny Drinkwater who's also terrible.
The club screwed up terribly that summer spending over £100 million on those two and Zappacosta.

Tell me about it, we seem to do every time we win the league. To be fair Drinkwater was better than Bakayako.

I seem to remember conte saying it would be better to buy 1 great player than 2 or 3 average ones. It was infact last summer's transfer window that sent him over the edge.  For what he was, lets not all jump on the bandwagon and try and blame Conte for those atricious signings.

Im not criticising the board for that signing who were we suppose to get instead? Lukaku cost more and yeah he's getter than Morata but he's not perfect either.

I agree but Conte also kept talking about squad depth at the end of his first season saying we need to make more signings. 

Nobody really knows who to blame for it all.

From memory I dont think that Dortmund were interested in selling him during the summer, it was only when he didnt sign a new contract that they sold in the Jan window (I could be way off the mark here though)

Not sure if better, he does pop up with more goals in general but his general play is shocking

Laca is much better......more all around type. No contest for me. Now in 2 years time it might change hands, but atm Laca is far ahead.

Saw a few Milan fans rating him and saying he should have been MOTM against Juventus. Promising but it’s Bakayoko.

The weird thing about him at Chelsea is that he could play well against the top sides (maybe due to the formation, but still) and yet bomb against almost everyone else. 

Still, he's managed to piece together a few good performances so I hope for his sake that he enjoys a lasting run of form.

Yes, he actually has become one of Milan most important players.

When he came to Milan he started of very poorly. Didn't stay in position and made many unforced errors. So the manager (Gattuso) placed him in the freezer and didn't use him. Then the DM (Lucas Biglia) and the LM (Bonaventura) were injured and Bakayoko was given a position in the starting eleven. He started ok and has just been better and better since then. In November I think he has been Milans best player.

Today in the match Milan - Parma 2-2 he got 7.7 on whoscored without even making goals or assists. He covers the midfield, stands right and make it really difficult for the opponent team to get through. In offence he just plays simple and quick with very few errors. 

It was romoured early in November that Milan would send him away in January (although loan deal is until summer). That Milan would pay the 30M fee option to Chelsea was totally out of the picture. 

But now I would say that Milan will likely get him to stay even after next summer. At least if he continues to play like this.

I’d argue that Bakayoko’s failure was the key to last season’s subpar performance. Trying to hide him in that dreadful 8-1-1 (3-5-2) while he floundered. 

What would have Conte given to have had this player last year? This was the upgrade on Matic we were hoping for.

It's great to see him playing well, but I think he is not Sarri's type of player. 

I won't be against a second chance for him to play with us, but now when we play with a new system and Sarri is looking for technical players.

Let's see how his situation will be going.

I agree with you completely. When he’s at his best, he’s more of a Destroyer in the midfield. The kind of guy Mourinho would love. The perfect replacement for Matic... in theory... obviously it didn’t work out for him like that with Chelsea. 

I’m happy for him. He had to be miserable last year. While he’s obviously well compensated, he looked utterly lost.
