Think i might binge eat after this.

that's what women do after a bad break up, you big girl. grab a glass, fill it with some whisky and down that sh*t like man. :JC_doubleup:

Genuinely don't care about the record as nice as it would have been.

I do however care about getting beat by f**king Tottenham, hate them.

but hey we've won the last 13 so we'll have to write this one off as a bad day at the office all round, we must bounce back with a win in our next PL game though.

still, f**king Tottenham.

What an embarrassing performance, Pedro put in the worst performance of any player in the premier league this season.

Pedro was terrible. As was costa and kante tbf.

I don't think most expected us to get anything from this, performance had room for improvement but overall was "okay" - the only saving grace for me is a respectable scoreline. What's important now is how the team reacts, 6pts from Leicester/Hull and hopefully tonight won't have any significance. Still top of the league, onwards and upwards.

Costa wasn't bad. He tried but couldn't do it all himself with three Spuds CBS on him at all times.

Kante was our worst. Owned by Wanyama and Dembele once again. Worst passing I've seen in quite a while from anyone.

Can't really have any major complaints, simply outplayed across the whole pitch. Kante had a dreadful game, his passing wsa all over the place. Alonso was poor. Moses poor. No service to Costa whatsoever.

I'm not sure this system really works against the better sides. Sure it's fine against the smaller clubs, because they find it much tougher to break through your defence and then are more suspectible to the counter attacks, but it was totally nullified today because Spurs pressed us high up the pitch, and we didn#t close Erikisson down yet again and they make us pay. Against City if they hadn't missed 2 sitters we'd have been about 0-3 down and wouldn't have won that either. I think when we come up against better sides, we really need to stop sitting back so much and press them high up the pitch as well.

Record would have been nice, but the league position at the end of the season is what's important.

Poor today.

However, if you're going mental over this loss then I think you need a reality check.

13 wins out of 14 and let's be honest, Spurs wanted to win this game so much after last season comedy act.

They were better tonight but we'll win the league, I'm sure of it.

Up the Chels!

Pressure valve released a bit now, don't have to deal with the press half heartedly talking us up and questions about ultimately meaningless records. Let them focus on the chasing pack and put some pressure on Spurs and their title chasing pretensions.

I could launch into a frustrated rant about the referee and Delle f**king Alli, but there'd be no point. Spurs were by far and away the better side and fully deserved the win. We just did not turn up tonight. This defeat will leave us all with a sick feeling, but in the grand scheme of things, it hopefully won't matter. Over the last 14 matches, we've won 13, an absolutely incredible feat. Yes, it's a right kick in the bollox to lose to this lot, but this run couldn't go on for ever. We're still 5 points clear, and it says it all that not only Tottenham, but Liverpool, Arsenal and City will be celebrating this result; they've been given a lifeline. There's not many positives to take from tonight, and plenty of negatives, but Conte is a smart man and no doubt he will work on them. It's also positive to see Kurt on the bench again; no doubt he will prove vital in the weeks to come as we do look light in defence. This defeat isn't the end of the world. It hurts to lose to Spurs, but as some have pointed out, Spurs will have this win to w**k over come the end the season, while we will have another PL title in the trophy cabinet all going well. We start again at Peterborough at the weekend, and go on another run. I'm confident that by the time we play Liverpool, we will still be way ahead of the chasing pack. Don't despair, people, keep the faith. KTBFFH

I imagine i will need to take a short break from the forum, for sanity reasons I can already see the wave of drivel from the negative nancys making hay whilst the sun don't shine (there has been way to much sunshine recently for some on here to seemingly enjoy themselves), Complaining bout how Bats should have been brought on in the 44th minute and if he was brought on sooner we would have won 8-2, or if VVD was playing deli allie wouldn't have been able to score, he probably would have given away a penalty, got sent off or forgot he was playing football and had a nap instead of defending but he is taller than Azpi and can pass a ball.

Went out with a whimper in the end....very disappointing....carry on like this and we wont be top for too much longer.   Very predictable lately, the left side needs sorting out...the sooner the better and it seems for two games in a row we can't deal with crosses...

It does work against the top teams however, you need to play with 352 instead of 343 as you're left quite exposed in the middle. If we had Nainggolan (for example) in midfield tonight then we'd have been able to bully Spurs mid. That's why Conte wants to change to it.

First half costa was bullied by there centre backs, he didn't hold the ball up and when he did get a sight of goal he wasted it.

2nd half was marginally better, but him kicking the ball out of play at the end there summed up his night for me.

Everyone was below par, but it's 1 bad perfomance out of 14. We could quite easy still end up 8 points clear by the end of the month.

Too passive in the first half, we conceded the exact same goal twice and there was more chance of shagging the queen than getting a goal ourselves. Poor all around tonight , how we recover after this game will determine our season... I'd still sooner be in our position though than the chasing pack.

What would really move us to the next level is a midfield general like Essien used to be. Kante is like a terrier, he runs around all game nipping at your heels, we need a Great Dane to compliment him. I'm struggling to see really what Matic brings to the side. He's not much of a threat going forward and not that great defensively.

Well it had to happen sometime and unfortunately it was tonight. But we were awful which was the frustrating thing. Kante was awful against Spurs once again. Dembele and Wanyama controlled the game, like they did for large parts at the Bridge. As good as Kante is, he does not have the size and power and technical skills like Dembele and Wanyama do to and it showed tonight. Way too nervous in possession and could not impose himself on the game. As good as he has been this season, still think he has his limitations which has been caught out by the opposition. Matic was poor as well and as was everyone else tbh. Alonso's worst game in a Chelsea shirt. Really struggled tonight.

Not going to say much more. We move on and hopefully come back stronger. But the one benefit this might have done if it had not done already, is I think it will guarantee Conte will be making January arrivals so we do not rest on our laurels. We need more strength in depth. Also another thing I did not get is what is the point on bringing Batshuayi with 5 mins to go? That made no sense. Should have done it as soon as we went 2-0 down and just gone for it. Lack of faith in him from Conte his astonishing.

As much as it is hard to say, Tottenham dominated the whole game and were brilliant and come away deserved winners. Let's wait for their DVD now on how they beat us 2-0 and stopped us getting the prem wins record

before this season started we'd have laughed if we were told we would be at the top of the league and 5 points clear, having just gone on a winning run of 13 games. some perspective needs to be taken and realise the position we are in is still fantastic.
