Maybe Alonso's performance will motivate the Sandro deal

I'm so sorry, Mr Alonso.
I shall never doubt you again.

Think that half will do Chelsea the world of good on several levels. Never hurts to get a thumping in preseason.

And anyone says Sanches is no good needs their head read in my view.

boga has played decent considering who we're playing. he definitely has the potential to be a very good player. this is his first full start for us too, but doesn't seem to feel any pressure.

Bit of a wake up call for us in that half.  We were jumped early and could have (and should have) been 4-0 down inside 30 minutes.  Played much better in the last 15 minutes and got a nice goal as a reward.

Absolutely meaningless fitness session, more for the local fans then anything else. and A small chance for us to see the likes of Boga who we may never see again

Boga was ok. Adjusted to the pace quite well.

Fabregas is fantastic when he has time on the ball, when he doesn't we get cut up.

Bayern also worked out how to pressure Willian when we bring the ball out and we got caught that way a few times.

Good half. Like I say we will be much the better for it.

Alonso's ability to find the back of the net for a LB is amazing. What a goal. And despite being battered, positive is Boga has looked confident and is making things happen. Impressed once again and the Premier Sports commentary team seem to be to.

One thing I've noticed is the closing down tactic we use. When the opposition have the ball (assuming we're not defending a quick counter), we have numerous players close them down quickly from various directions. Against lseser clubs this works quite well, because it panics the player and they often don't have the composure or skill to get out of it, but against the top clubs, with top players, more often than not they just flick it past everyone and suddenly we've got 2-3 players out of position.

Gary needs to come off for a midfielder. He's either doing nothing or making fouls

Classic. Pre-season match and already Cahill is being scapegoated.

He's been no worse than others. Noone has played well. The midfield two in particular is well off the pace.

Be interested to see Morata come on in a front two and another midfielder coming in to make a three.

have to say willian and batshuayi were very poor up front, but at this stage a lot of that might be due to tiredness in the legs.

Batshauai seems like a confidence player. When he was scoring and doing well against Arsenal, everything came easily. With things not going well today, he starts to make simple mistakes and rush shots, etc...

Christensen is very good. Managed Lewandowski quite well

Cahill was poor. I hope his decline hasn't begun and if it has I hope it's not as steep as Ivanovic

Bats hasn't had much service, Boga needs to assert himself more and probably choked by the occasion initially.

Moses and Willian has poor chemistry atm

We're losing the midfield battle with Kante and Fabregas due to Bayern overloading the centre of the pitch. Can't believe some said that Sanches was sh*t, he stopped our attacks quite well.

Alonso can't go too far forward because he has to cover for Gary and Fabregas. Nice strike tho

Overall, very slow start. Probably jetlagged or the double training sessions but this needs to be rectified before the season starts.

Pointless friendlies are still nice to win, but team without a doubt in holiday mode, it is nice to see what level we need to be at.

If you think this is bad just think what they would do to Arsenal :-) ........ oh wait, they did ! in a competitive match  :-)

Fitter team ,who also are very talented able to expose our lack fitness. Conditions will be draining and playing only two in midfield against a three has left us with too much work to do.

I agree. Players in teams like Bayern Munich don't panic when closed down quickly and will play through the small gaps. In the Champions League i think we will need to be very careful with that. Closing players down is a strength, but it can also become a weakness if 2 or 3 players are taken out of the game from one simple pass.
