We tried to press with cesc in our two man midfield, took off Alonso who was better than Moses (goal aside), and started batshuayi who is a clear step below morata.  When morata came on, even with ten men he was able to bring the ball down or head effectively to team mates.  

Thne he sent up thibaut for a pen, and that solidified the 100% for me.

The doomsday feeling around this club is downright embarrassing. Yes we need players but there's a month to go in the window, don't forget we didn't sign Luiz or Alonso until the very end of the window last year, there is still a lot of time.

The performance wasn't great but they have had a few more games than us and this match will have done the team a lot of good ahead of the season, in the second half we were a lot better and looked a lot more alive, literally only conceded the goal because Fabregas had a brain fart and just stood there but onwards and upwards, imp we are in a considerably better place than we were in 2015

For whatever reason we just don't seem to play well at the Community Shield whenever we participate in it.

During the Abramovich era, we've played in eight Community Shields but only won two (2005, 2009) and lost on six occasions (2006, 2007, 2010, 2012, 2015, 2017).

Well don't I feel like a w**ker....Arsenal level trophy/dinner plate.. celebrating it like a CL final, bunch of underachievers. 

Not enough depth our new defender w**ked up for the goal, our new striker missed a sitter and a pen....on the bright side hazard and our new CM both out after surgery and our not quite good enough but better than any of our options RWB is out for the start of the season...if the board could get the c**ting cheque book out it would be stupendous, cheers.

Pedro took a red and Conte doesn't buy our players.

Penos were awful, ABBA system was awful.

 

We are always sh*t in the community shield anyway

 That was gutless and clueless.  What should we realistically expect from this new season? I hope we are in top 4 and in CL quarter-finals, and judging from pre-season it is a BIG hope.

I'd rather lose the community shield and have Champions League football than win it and have to play Rostov on Thursdays.

The current squad is lacking depth, so we need to make some signings before the transfer window closes.

As it stands, I'm quite worried about our prospects heading into the new season.

I know it's a glorified friendly. But it would be nice to win it against Arsenal. We just had to hold on but we f**ked up. 

Dunno why of late we seem to have stupid sending offs at wembley. Moses back in May and Pedro today

Agreed. The story from the rags now is about how we have another Spanish headcase leading the line.

I thought we played well after halftime. Kante was excellent as was Cahill. More work to do and always annoying to lose to that mob but we were pants for the first part last year and then broke the wins record.

Unfortunately it wont. The whole pre-season is a continous non-stop wake up call.

On the Plus side. Pedro wont be suspended for the league since the charity shield is considered a friendly. THANK GOD

I think it was a fine pre-season game. Could have done without losing but who gives a sh*t if we learn and are back next year as league champions?

I told you, it was pretty fast some of our "fans" starting crying and b***** on Conte. What exactly was his fault ? Pedro fu*** us hard. Fuc**** idiotic tackle. Why the hell he have to do it? It was totaly unnecessary tackle.

And he fu*** the team even more, now 3 games without him. His IQ is very, very low. Same goes for Willy.

And what Conte could do with that squad? He is puting CB who operate with right foot, on the LWB, cause there is no one else who can play there. Fuc**** board.

And Morata was usless. Atleast Michy was fighting and combinate well with his teammates. Not that he did great, but Morata did nothing as well. And don`t forget Conte said he is not ready, hes physical condition is far from good, forget perfect.

Another match thats show how weak our team is. It will be a huge success if we move from the group stage in CL, and finish in top 4. Titles with this sh** board it`s only a dream.
