Limbs? I get a Monty Python-esque vision of everybody unscrewing their artificial limbs and throwing them onto the pitch in delirious celebration

Made me laugh, Valerie.

Basically, it means our fans were going absolutely mental when we scored. More than the average goal...

Neither can the DailyMail to be fair, gave him an 8/10, it's like they watched two completely different games.

Yeah, I've seen that.  I liked their description too "Must have earned his manager's trust with this mature display"

What's funny is that quotes not from me, weird? I agree but where did you quote that from?

It was from me! Weird how that's happened! :laugh2:

He will be the best partnership Kante can ever get. He is such a brilliant player. But just as most people say here, Spurs won't sell him to us.

Dembele is outstanding - one of the best mid fielders in epl.   But i must say!  Having watched Bakayoko - obviously not 100% yet, only about a weeks training and been out since May.  I am excited with what i saw.  I'll keep Bakayoko besides Ngolo.  That forward run will kill opponents, the pace is amazing - Add Hazard to the team, opponents wont know where to go!  This is exactly what we missed

Have to agree, Babayoko had the one run in the first half where he picked the ball up just inside our half and then lost possession on the edge of their box, considering he isn't fully fit it was a powerful run and given a little more time he could have done more with the ball before losing it.

I like Dembele, but his temperament raises questions for me, silly little niggling fouls and always has something to say to ref.  He also gets away with a lot when it comes to off the ball contact.

Lol, I quoted evoann62 and it appeared as your name, I have no idea how that happened.

MOTD was a joke they were only describing how the better performing spuds could have opened us up better, didn't even show the goals ffs clowns, and I'm well put off gullit he never goes to bat for us, let's jeans talk his spuds praising piss for the whole segment and didn't contest it. Seems they had planned on praising spurs win lose or draw and were so reluctant to say we did a good job and answered all the questions. The c**ts didn't even score, all this praise based on a well delivered free kick ffs

I actually thought Gullitt was alright, when Jenas was complaining about Spurs outplaying us, he said it didn't matter as Chelsea won.

He explained the cantenaccio and how Spurs needed to get wider against Chelsea to get success.

What I thought was the difference was Gullitt was objective and Jenas partisan.

The Spurs end of the season DVD will be called Domination, commemorative DVD celebrating the story of how we dominated possession in some of the big matches.

Yea, I liked him explaining the tactic, I'd actually never heard of it, so I appreciated it and I can bring it up when people are complaining about us.

Jenas still hasn't got over us beating them in the F.A. Cup Semi Final. Remember after he started rowing with Shearer in the studio, and looked like he was gonna cry!.

also Ruud is a Chelsea Legend, so that helps as well

Ex head ref Dermot Gallagher has confirmed what we all believed that Anthony Taylor got it wrong with Vertonghen's tackle on Moses...he should of seen red for it and that there was inconsistency with that decision and Cahill's sending off...Dier's tackle on Luiz he thought was a yellow...let's hope that we start getting of those lucky Spuds decisions in the future...

Spot on on most of your points, but I feel you have done wrong on two!  Morata 3 - seriously??  Dude Chelsea were defensive for most of the game and Morata did okay when called for!  He missed the early chance but I think at least a 6.  We had no creative play and our would be unfair to judge the striker negatively on such a game!

Willian 5, no way based on the above - willian did so well to hold possession and bring everyone else into the game.  He was very very good in slowing down play and bringing Chelsea into the game!

Basthuayi - should go on loan!

Bakayoko - I can't wait till he's 100% fit!  This guy will run riot.

Lastly,  Hazard - we miss you, can't wait for the Leicester game when you are back.  Interesting to see how Morata does when defenders have to worry about Eden as well!  If we beat Everton, we are in with a chance.  A serious chance to win the league

I felt Morata was poor, very poor. Its one thing to be defensive, but completely other to what the player does when he gets a touch/chance. Morata looked like jelly.

No doubting that Willian slowed down, but like I said, he tried to do everything on his own. With no support whatsoever from the Mid and/or Morata.

As for Bats, we have a very small squad, the last thing we need is to send more players on loan. Bats needs to work, but he can be a decent addition.

Your "Morata looked like Jelly" hit the nail on the head for me.  At times he had the gait of Torres (Very wobbly, side on to the player, lacking in decisiveness and ultimately not doing much with the ball)  However I think his whole performance was based on the missed header.  He was saying before the game that he wanted to "erase" the penalty miss on the community shield,  which he wouldn't with a miss like that.

To me he looks like a confidence player, and after that opportunity had gone he lost confidence, and mixed with the fact he probably isn't 100% fit.  I would still say a 3 is a little harsh, maybe a 4/5 would be more reasonable.

This is not the game to lose Luiz from the back...using 2 newbies in a back 3 system is a recipe for disaster against Kane, Ali etc. Better to put one of the new CBs in midfield and leave Luiz to muster the defence...

Seemed to work just fine ;-)

What gives me hope is that we would know how to defend à la Chelsea 2012 in the UCL this season :) !

I doubt the current players have that quality and mentality. Do you remember that scenario when we were leading but Spurs were all over us with possession then Willian had the ball in our half, Wanyama tried to close him down, Moses was in a good position to get a pass but Willian took the selfish risk to try and dribble his way pass Wanyama but Wanyama gave him no chance and Willian waisted the ball when he eventually kick it out of play. Then I asked myself if Ramires, Mikel or Meireles would have done the same in such a critical time of the game when we were trying to close the game taking all 3 points, the answer was obvious. That team that won the champions league were very much mature mentally when it comes to holding on to a win. They aren't the most skilful but they are very discipline.

We won by a lucky gift goal, look at the possession stats

Possession wins you nothing.  And how was the second goal "lucky"?  A clear penalty shout denied, followed by an attempt at a quick break-away by the Spuds, a turn-over in mid-field by a good pressing play, an excellent one-two on the edge of the box and a top-notch finish.  What exactly was lucky about it?
