And on the left

It's always been his best position, but since Willian departed and Pulisic came in CHO has been forced into having a bit part on the right.

I guess i watched a different game because CHO was pretty much in effective for us. I will give him a pass since this is his first start in his preferred position but he had less touches than Mendy in the game, Won only 2 of his 9 ground duels and had no shot on target. To be fair he could have had an assist if not for the biased referring .

That’s unfair. Our default strategy is to keep passing back the keeper until the opposition fall asleep!

He could have had an assist and a goal too but he waited to long in order to take a shot when he ran with the ball.

He looked much better in that position in comparison to the times he played as a wing-back even if he missed a chance and lost some balls. Similar to RLC that looked better playing deeper than playing more offensively, even if RLC also struggled with making good passes. Both looked more fresh than in a long time so it's a good sign.

Pulisic, CHO and Mount are on that position, that's really good depth there and even Werner can play there. You can argue that just with our depth we should be winning against teams like Southampton.

Can't really fault him today.  TT does seem extra tough on him, and I'm sure there were moments he wasn't tracking exactly where Tommy wanted.

Well played - keep going!!!

Excellent performance. Needs to keep going now.

From Tuchel's post match it seems he's going to start on Tuesday as well so that will be another chance to deliver.

Sort of reminds me of the Jose & Joey Cole relationship, maybe tough love will get the best out of CHO?

Yeah, must be more to it that we don't see.  TT so positive though and said he gets another chance Tue.  It's no coincidence to me Odoi and Havertz were brought off at the same time given the pace they bring, injuries we have, and upcoming fixtures.  To me, that said it all.

I think he needs that tbh. He seems to be one of the few in our teams that look like they'll get carried away and gets a big head.

Played well today, in his favourite position.

Does definitely get some tough love from Tuchel.

Maybe Tuchel thinks his potential ceiling his very high and this is best way to get the best from him.

Hopefully he’ll get a run of games now, could be dangerous for us on a nice big pitch like St James Park next Saturday.

Thought he put in another solid performance against Newcastle.

He's so good at creating a half yard of space around the 18 yard area and going on either the inside or out for a shot or cross.

I don't think Pulisic walks back into the squad ahead of him when he returns from injury.

One of him, Werner and Pulisic needs to learn how to be good on the right side. Give us the option to attack with pace on both sides.

On recent form, Pulisic is going to battle hard to get a leg up on Callum.

I agree with axman, need someone on the opposite side who can do that too

With everyone fit I think that left side of attack is filled by Havertz, who interchanges with Lukaku so that you have a left footed attacker cutting in onto their stronger foot.

Take it you mean right side of attack there FC.

In theory that works well, but Havertz is as slow as a tank compared to Werner, Pulisic and CHO. If one of them could make the right side their own it would be very helpful to offer pace on both sides, not just one.

Casing point Mane and Salah, arguably the 2 fastest attackers in the league.

If you want to play another winger on the right except cho, werner is probably your best option but if that is your plan, you are better of selling Werner and get a true winger.

I think it would be interesting to see this:

Werner            Lukaku
            Havertz

Kai dropping deeper and playing Timo and bigRom that cut inside with their stronger foot on the inside would be a killer move and it's possible for them to change positions during games depending on the situation. When all are healthy we must try to make Werner and Lukaku play together, their respective skills combined could be so good if you ask me.

Could be, would need our wingbacks to stay wide most likely though as that front 3 is far more central focused.

We have a true winger, he's just inconsistent
