February 2, 20188 yr To the tune of Black Lace's Agga Doo Olivier Gir-roud, roud, roud Left Arsenal for Chelsea Scores with his left, with his right, jumps and down to Celery. Or something. I'll get me coat.
February 2, 20188 yr All these players joining for conte, he'll be gone at seasons end. Unless we win the champions league lol
February 2, 20188 yr Conte has said he doesn't think Giroud will be ready for the next match. Get ready for that false 9 bollocks again.

February 2, 20188 yr Warm words from Arsene Wenger explaining the transfer: “We owe him a lot,” Wenger said. “It was linked with the Aubameyang deal and he has just had a third baby so it was difficult on the family side for him to leave London. It was difficult to turn down [Chelsea’s offer] just because it is an opponent,” he added. “He was massively popular in the dressing room and the club, for all the players that left it was sad to see them go, but Olivier wanted more playing time – he wants as well to go to the World Cup. That is why I opened the door.”

Too many words can be confusing as a club with many fans throughout the world we need to be inclusive and multilingual. It also helps keeping to the same three tunes.
February 2, 20188 yr Nice words from Wenger, though did hear somewhere he has not played much recently due to injury................. hoping that is done and dusted, so to speak.
February 3, 20188 yr He's had a hamstring injury but he doesn't get injured much. I think his only other lengthy time away from Arsenal was when he broke a tibia in 2014 (and then he came back earlier than expected).

February 8, 20188 yr Looking through the Random Rumours thread and found this gem, courtesy of everyone's friend: Football agent. On 7/12/2017 at 16:46, Football Agent said: Arsenal will not sell to Chelsea FC

We missed him during the January Transfer window. My favourite was when he said we wouldn't break our transfer record......and then we went and signed Morata a few days later
February 9, 20188 yr Arsenal had something similar... to the the tune of Stealers Wheel ‘stuck in the middle with you’ Hazard to the left of me... Pedro to the right... Here I am....stuck in the middle Giroud.
February 12, 20188 yr Looked decent tonight, linked up well with Eden. Will only improve as he develops more of an understanding with his new team mates and system.
February 13, 20188 yr A decent performance, got a good understanding with other attackers, and always willing to get on the end of the cross, until the head collision put him off the game. Arsenal clearly missed him on Saturday, their plan B was with us.
February 13, 20188 yr We signed arsenals all around best forward from them imo. Not their best goal scorer but their best forward. Good business imo.
February 13, 20188 yr He lacks match fitness and looked a little disorientated after the head knock. Great assist and link with Hazard however looked absolutely knackered when leaving the field. He will be an asset when he’s up to speed.
February 13, 20188 yr Clearly wasn't 100% and the bang on the head didn't help him, but I liked what I saw. Really good movement and link up play. Shame he didn't put that one away though.
February 13, 20188 yr He is already looking good. Some great link up play with Hazard for our first goal last night. He gives direction to our forward play and a focal point for Hazard and Pedro to play off last night.
February 13, 20188 yr What I liked about him most is his sacrifice for the team, helped the defence, had good movement, ran a lot, put a lot effort into his game. He has to work on his passing, few bad passes in the second half. Was happy with him.
February 13, 20188 yr Not sure if I necessarily agree with the Costa comparison, but I enjoyed this article from Ronay: https://www.theguardian.com/football/blog/2018/feb/12/olivier-giroud-well-groomed-half-speed-costa Particularly this part: Just after the half-hour Giroud almost made contact with a spectacular spinning overhead kick, a spring and leap that ended with Giroud tumbling dramatically sideways, bouncing defenders left and right, as though someone had thrown a bulky blue triple sofa down a spiral flight of stairs.
February 13, 20188 yr Solid debut. Was impressed with how well he was playing with his back to goal. His hold up play was noticeable and was able to bring others into the game a lot. Certainly showed signs of promise and emphasised (to me) how having a traditional centre forward can be to the benefit of a passing game.
February 13, 20188 yr Hew won 100% of his aerial duels and 80% of his duels on the floor. I think hes going to be a vital option for us in the next 18 months and it looks like Conte finally got a target man he can use. When the understanding between Giroud and the others improve, he'll get more invovled in scoring and setting up goals. Hes slower than an oil tanker but hes a very technical and intelligent player, hes aware of the space and runners around him. I was quielty impressed with him, had he scored it would have been a dream home debut.
February 13, 20188 yr Thought it was a very good game from him. His hold up play and flicks were key to Arsenal scoring many of their great goals, looks like he's already replicating it here.
