Another goal for Morata.

Four in his last five games for Atletico and six goals in his last seven games including internationals.

Look at all that space. Doesn’t happen at Chelsea.

Oh I agree.

In hindsight I just wonder how much he ever truly wanted to be here?

Was it a case of wanting to play for Chelsea or that Real didn't want him anymore?

Absolutely. Think he had Costa-syndrome where he didn't ever want to be here.

Suffering from memory loss? Morata was beyond bad for the past 12 months. Link up and hold up play was some of the worst i've seen from a Chelsea player.

Probably suffering from blindness from the amount my eyes have been bleeding watching Higuain run like he’s wearing lead boots.

At this current point in time - Morata is a better player than Higuain and I stand by that. I agreed with us replacing him if we could get a quality replacement - we never and replaced him with an aging player who was already in decline and has a history of not looking after himself the way an elite footballer should.

I don't think we had much choice with Morata, I think he was miserable here and he's definitely a confidence player. He was always going to leave though I do question whether we should have held out until the end of the season.

We just weren't playing to his strengths. We weren't getting the ball forward quickly into wide areas and whipping crosses in and often when the ball did come into the box he was on own in there against 4 or more defenders.

But then again, I don't think Sarri's setting us up in a way that's going to benefit any centre forwards right now. The build up is far too slow and we don't commit enough players into the opposition penalty area.

Oh I agree, I think our hands were tied to a degree, if we’d been signed a high potential player or a proven striker or even calling on one of our talented young players to replace him I’d understand.

Instead we took the agin Higuain which many people on this board had reservations about. Morata would have done no worse than Higuain has IMO.

An aging and unfit Higuain has still been an upgrade on Morata.

I agree, but not at Chelsea. Morata had given up. He was next to worthless for us this season. But he is a better player, and the reason we'll be able to get a full refund on him thank goodness.

Playing in a different team, in a different league, surrounded by different players? Perhaps.

Based on Moarta's performances this season, playing for Chelsea, then no. Absolutely f**king not.

Another counter attack goal, Very Torresesque for Atleti or Scousers, showing bags of pace, and a cool finish he aint sh*t, just our style didn't suit him, and he didn't suit us, he looks like that player we signed from Real madrid.

I'm delighted for him but saddened that he couldn't do it for us.

I'm not, he was a massive child at Chelsea and sulked at every opportunity and has started to try again since getting what he wanted (move back to Spain). Dislikable bloke.

Reports that Atletico are terminating the loan deal as apparently they need to pay £15m to continue the loan? Not sure how the deal works, I guess there was no loan fee for the first 6 months..

After watching Giroud and Higuain this past season, honestly I'd rather have him over them, at least Morata is fit for our games and with the ban I don't think we'll have a choice either.

I don't think Giroud wants to stay either so next season I think we are back to Morata, Michy + Tammy or a false 9

Odds of Atletico looking to pick up Morata's option after next year just increased. Griezman is leaving. I'll be surprised if Costa is there in a year as well. Would make sense for them to pick up Morata's option, which would give us pretty much a full refund.

Hope they take No data, but he is no Griezmann replacement. Bit of a dick move from Griezmann after doing that ludicrous live TV special last year to announce he was staying.

Barca again going to the chequebook to solve their problems. They've now spent about 500m on their front line trying to replace Neymar and they're still Messi reliant. No wonder they are trying to move on Coutinho to reclaim some cash.

That is some auto correct!
