July 6, 20197 yr Matt Law saying that we made our money back on Mortata. Good business if true. It could have been so much worse.

So it sounds like the original 18 mo loan terms still apply, since he will still be on loan for this coming season? So between the loan fees and purchase amount, the total has made us our money back?
July 6, 20197 yr Didnt suit the prem in the end. Not the striker we hoped he would become, but we got our money back in the end. Hopefully Abraham works out, or another Jovic appears this season, because there really arent many good strikers at a good age available at the moment. No hard feelings really towards morata, wish him all the best.
July 6, 20197 yr Happy to have moved him on. Mentality didn't stand up to PL football even though technically he was great.
July 6, 20197 yr We paid his wages for 2,5 seasons so we made nothing back if we are honest. Good he is gone though. Hate players with mentality like his. Fragile small boy he is.
July 6, 20197 yr And so Super Frank makes a start. Lot of dead wood to clear out for Frank. Morata was one because of his weak mentality. In Spain his dives may well help him look a good striker again, but not here. Good luck fella, but you rarely gave it your all here.
July 6, 20197 yr Nice dig from the Chelsea twitter account ha ha. Posted about morata leaving, then the next post said "and more good news, RLC has signed a new contract."

July 6, 20197 yr When he was arriving at Chelsea, I thought it was a good signing for the club. But now I'm happy that he is moving back to Spain. He didn't fit at the club and the competition. But we still need a good striker for the up-coming season don't you think guys?

To be honest when I saw baka and zouma but not him at training yesterday it was clear he wasn’t coming back they must have asked frank about him and he has turned him down, either that or the club made the decision for him. He has the pedigree it’s a shame he is so fragile as a man, Tammy isn’t ready, so we have Bats and Giroud, we struggled for goals even with hazard, Giroud is Giroud he does what he does so it’s a case of bats stepping up or the midfield will need to chip in with an awful lot of goals this season for us to stand a chance.

Well he was only 6 months into an 18 month loan, so he wouldn’t have been at our preseason anyways, even if the agreement for purchase didn’t happen.

How does that work did kurt and bakas loans end so they are back by default? I know we had the option to recall but also makes sense if he is on an 18 months loan he would train with them, I thought the reason the club was saying basically pay up or send him back was because his loan was up, figured it was season long.

Yeah both Zouma and Bakayoko had loans that were up, Morata went out on an 18 monther starting in January, so it would be unlikely for him to not train with Atletico during that timeframe.
July 7, 20197 yr f**k off and dont come back, the epitome of a gutless footballer. Knew he was a wrong un when he was out injured with his back then posted a picture on Twitter of him giving his wife a piggy back. ????
July 7, 20197 yr The right move for parties. I was happy when we first signed him as I preferred him over Lukaku, but it hasn't worked out. After his comments from a few weeks ago. I think the decision to sell him was easy in the end. Edited July 7, 20197 yr by Jezz

Good, he's done nothing but disrespect the fans and the club. He's made me look a right nob for 2 years defending him.
July 7, 20197 yr I regret defending this spineless twat for 2 years. If he's not good enough, that's not his fault, I won't berate him for that. But to try and blame Chelsea fans and the club for why he's not good enough and can't finish a one v one is such a bitch move.

July 8, 20197 yr 50 odd million apparently, but only at the end of the season once the loan is finished. Good business from us, and in all honesty for a transfer window where we can't sign anyone (apart from Kovacic and Higuain) this has actually been a really good window (minus the sale of Hazard obviously) The amount of deadwood we have already gotten rid of is amazing. This UEFA rule on the amount of loanees we can have is turning out into a blessing as we really dont have enough squad space to be filling it up with players like Morata with a weak mentality. Hoping to see even more sales being made, with our war chest be built nicely. I can already tell next summer is going to be massive for us in the amount we spend.

Costa's main issue was that he didn't enjoy living in London and wanted to go back to Spain. If he was unhappy in London he'd be suicidal living in Merseyside. I dare say he'll end up in China if he does leave Atletico.
