Next Chelsea Manager

Who would be your choice as Chelsea manager going into next season? 213 members have voted

  1. 1. Here are the current favorites with Conte included. Jody Morris is in there as he is the current youth team manager, and promoting from within seems to have worked for Barca, so why not us?!

That just came across as your typical Hazard interview. They say he is hinting at a move to Real Madrid by saying "everybody wants to play for Real Madrid" but i could then say he is hinting at wanting to stay with Chelsea because he said "The blue shirt suits him well, and staying doesn't bother him"

It's basically pick and choose what words to focus on to push the narrative you want to go with.

Yeah, but he doesn't excactly sound like a guy that is looking to sign an extension this summer.
And now Real will be looking for a Ronaldo replacement which might open the door for Hazard for the first time since he's been here.

Not having a clue about who's going to manage him this season 25 days away from kickoff can't be a good thing either. He's already said previously this summer he's not staying if we get worse.

If Hazard and Courtiois do end up leaving then Sarri’s job really does turn into a crucial rebuilding job. Absolutely  vital that Sarri and the club get it right.

As far as I’m aware football clubs don’t telegraph their intentions. They don’t give prior notification when sacking managers, just as they don’t when they wish to sign players.

In poker parlance that would showing your hand.

There's an argument to be made that the managerial sackings are being made by the press. Print enough rubbish, stir enough doubt in the minds of fans to cause palpable and obvious agitation and the board start to wonder if they should be acting in line with the "feelings" of its fan base.

Of course such strategic decisions are not best made under emotional strain, but that's what tends to happen more often than not in our modern football age.

Our board may be annoying with their approach to transfer dealings recently but i'm also proud of some of the decisions they have taken over the years. If the all knowing press (most of which I feel are scum and have little or no regard for anyway) were to be believed, Conte was to be sacked in August of last year, and September, and October, and November...... and you get the picture.

Out of the top 6 we yet again look the worst in the market. City have just landed Mahrez, don't really need any signings. Tottenham likewise all they need to do is keep hold of players. Liverpool, Arsenal & United have all snatched players up by June. And Arsenal sorted their managerial affair, we are still beating around the bush.

I said I would start worrying if we haven't made any business or changes in June, it's now the 10th of July and I already know how this is going to go.

Another 48 hours passes & still no new manager, its sounding like press bollox the whole Sarri thing, anybody else reckon AC will still be here come the Charity Shield ?

I said pages and pages ago on this mother of all threads that we wouldn't get anything sorted until after world cup, it was a bit of a tongue in cheek comment, and I have no pleasure in saying I might be right. Maybe club had no intention in replacing Antonio and we have wasted half our summer speculating and arguing on this topic.

You're bang on, i have seen no concrete evidence Conte is going, just media driven hyperbole and BS speculation.....on the negative side of negativity, worried about any transfer dealings thus far...

It's all still just rumour but apparently Jean-Michael Seri who was strongly linked with us is set to join Fulham.

We're apparently close to agreeing deals for Jorginho and Rugani.

Both players from Serie A. One played for Sarri at Napoli the other Sarri tried to sign.

If and it's a big IF we're signing those two then it looks like Sarri might be dictating the transfer strategy ready for his appointment.

Actually, both played for Sarri. Rugani played for Sarri at Empoli. Was sold to Juventus the same summer Sarri joined Napoli I think. Sarri gave him his big break.

This was probably answered months ago but why was Sarri even replaced at Napoli? If ADL was willing to pay his wages why not just keep him as head coach until we eventually paid up and then get a new manager. I don't understand why Carlo was hired months ago after Sarri had just helped Napoli to an incredible season.

Think he and ADL had disagreements and on top of that, Chelsea came calling well before the season ended so he had made his mind up to leave and wouldn't sign the new contract being offered to him by ADL.

Funny how Juventus managed to sign Cristiano Ronaldo before we could get our new manager.
Says something about how far we are from the biggest in Europe at the moment.

How dare you say such a thing, you ungrateful fan? Where were you in the 80's when many on here were battling relegation with CFC? Be content with what you have! Why would you want to compare us to Juventus or a club of that stature? You can f**k right off talking all that sense. :)

If we get Sarri, Jorginho and Rugani completed then I take back all of my posts criticising the club/board.

Nope. Nothing stopped us from getting this wrapped up in June, especially since we've ended up paying a fat fee for the pair anyway. This is no way to plan for a season ahead. Valuable time has been wasted on haggling over peanuts.

That logic is not true now that we know Ronaldo has already formally signed for Juventus.

Not allowing Sarri to leave before the new season  will cost Napoli not just  a lot of money (compensation from Chelsea plus usual annual pay to Sarri), but also become subject to a lot of negative press review for clinging on to their former manager while having already signed a new one in Ancelotti.  This is akin to a hostage-like situation. And there can also be legal ramifications - they would not want any of that mess.

I don't think this will carry on for long. [ (!) and we’ve heard that enough times by enough people in this thread (!) ]

They must have been so pissed with our Board’s attitude of refusing to pay the buy-out sum after convincing one of their most successful managers of recent times to break an existing contract, that they really want to drag this thing on and on closer to the start of the season, well aware that we have to give in at some point before the season starts (paying whatever they want).

But now that Ronado has joined Juve, Napoli would be under increasing pressure themselves to raise capital and be decisive about which players they want in and which players they’d allow to leave.  Delay will only shoot up player prices.

For sure,

with Ronaldo at Juve, things will become easier for chelsea.

I'm very sorry for Conte and I'm very sorry for chelsea, because sarriball doesn't mean trophies, sarriball means chelsea is on the way to be the new arsenal.

Winning is another thing.
