When Andreas had the ball, Cesc was there to receive the ball, punting it upfield would have resulted it in coming back at us in no time. The pass was not perfect, but hell, cesc makes a meal out of it. Actually makes a gesture of leaving the ball, specially against a team who press like barca do. People blaming andreas for the goal are being really unfair to the lad. The far graver mistake was an experienced player like cesc not knowing who is around him to press/get the ball. Azpi going to the ground when he just never needed to and infact 99 out of 100 times, he never would have gone to ground.

Anyone who has played the game at a decent level knows that you do not play a pass across the box under any circumstances, but especially when you are being closed down in numbers. Not being hard on Andreas but he will learn from it hopefully. Unfortunately doesn't matter what spin is put on it, a pass across the box is a schoolboy mistake.

I think that is clutching at straws a bit. Christensen did have a good game overall and i do really rate him but it was a lazy pass and a schoolboy error in passing across your box. He made a similar lazy pass in the first half and shanked the ball off for a corner. Its one of those things and whilst he will learn by it there is no point in us not seeing the mistake for what it was. If it had been Cahill, whilst totally unsurprising from him, we still would have crucified him.

For what it is worth even if we had won 1-0 i think we would have struggled in Spain. If anything i prefer that we have to get something. If we are going out i would rather go down punching than just trying to starve out a 0-0 over there.

Clutching at straws there mate christensen did what every defender from sunday league to the top KNOW not to play, suicide pass against your own box, was a poor poor decision, experience yes but even a youth player would get the hair dryer for that

Positives: Conte, how he set us up and mades sure we were very hard to play against. our speed and press play......and our amazing supporters, made us all proud they did.

As we say in Farsi, you need to have a big arse to tolerate such a mistake when barca had f**k all......make no mistake, they know they got away with one here......they will not be relishing coming here any time soon.

Doesn't matter, Barca would have probably created some clear cut chances if Luiz played. Luiz against Watford was playing dodgy passes all game.

First few minutes of the match, Pedro played a square ball in front of our box straight to a Barca player. He got away with it, Christensen didn't.

True that. Ultimately cost us the game but taking a positive from a bad situation good for the schoolboy's development. When a player is still in the developmental stages such mistakes are bound to happen. You hope you don't get punished for it, we got punished for it but at least a draw is certainly better than the doom and gloom scenario painted since draw. Camp nou is a different beast altogether however it has been done before, we have also done it there. Let's keep our finger crossed for a positive showing on the day.

How can Courtois be blamed for Messi's goal?   I just don't see it.  A nice shot close to the post, and all Courtois do was to cover the center of the goal, which he did.  The fact that he did not dive I think makes people blame him, but he was nowhere close to that shot.

Fantastic performance from the team as a whole. One mistake and we conceded. However, after every tom, dick and harry was saying we had no chance and get a few put past us, well a different day we could have come away from this leading by 3/4 goals to one.

People saying about the large pitch at nou camp and how it benefits barca, well yes of course, but we also have players capable of finding space, and on a bigger pitch it will also help us too. 

I think me and yorkley have found some common ground on Morata. Praise the Lord.

But then you have to have a predictable dig at my Pedro.  Minute 3 is SO f**king different to minute 83. And so different when it's someone paid to defend as opposed to a V good attacker

Thought we really upped our game against Barcelona and the players worked very hard and were supremely disciplined. Terrible pass by Christiansen but thought Dave, who was on par for MOTM could have stood up rather than slide in.
I still think we can go to their place and cause an upset just like in 2012.

I wasn't knocking Christensen, just trying to explain to another poster that a ball across the box is a no no, because the other poster didn't think it was a mistake.

Not blaming him Phillip, but De Gea for instance is standing up and waiting to see where Messi directs his shot. Messi isn't even that close to goal, I think he's just outside the box. Courtois dives the wrong way before the ball has even been struck, which is criminal in my opinion. I thought it was really poor goalkeeping.

harsh on courtois. Messi wrong footed him from about 8 yards out. No shame in that, he also made a good stop to deny Suarez. 

Azpiliucueta was great, but he shouldn't have dived in, if he stayed on his feet then we might have got away with it. Fantastic, but not quite impeccable.

That's not a dig. That's a fact. It could just as easily have led to a goal, and Pedro is an experienced player. Going 1-0 down after 3 minutes would have been a lot worse to conceding an equaliser with 5 minutes to go. Everybody's focusing on Christensen's mistake, so it's only right and proper to point out he wasn't the only one tonight.
