A week to sort out issues and play with a positive attitude in front of a home crowd.

Honestly think the top 4 has gone so we do not have anything but pride to play for and that was the one thing denied to us today by how Conte had us set up, pride.

 

But I really don't want the man getting a 20mill payout and have supported Chelsea long enough to see both good and bad seasons. So this season we end up in the Europa League and most probably trophy-less. Either Conte takes the job with Italy, somewhere else or he stays. Great no problem, one more season to plan ahead, let him make a mess of things. His ego wont let him relegate this club he won't want to blot his CV with that. Maybe we miss out on Europe all together. No big deal. Happened before. Maybe Tibo is sold, and if he is I don't particularly care. Likelihood is Hazard has gone already, which would be the only real shame in all this. Let Conte leave to a new job or let him leave at the end of his contract. If he stays give him zero say in any signings. Let all signings be based on the future and line up who we want to replace him after his time is done. I personally would like the job to go to Eddie Howe. Not a glamorous enough name or enough big game experience right?

 

Oh yeah Palace. What would I like to see, some attacking intent would be nice, something different:

Positive lineup, some different faces, time to start changing these piss poor results and have a glimmer of hope of getting top 4 if it's possible. 

Looking forward to this,first game at The Bridge although I've done the tour,usually only get to the games up North.7 Am train down in morning and 10 30 coach back to Glasgow at night.

I would like us to play with a striker, even though that would require Conte to show some balls. So not really expecting it.

Time to bring Ampudu into midfield next to Kante...with either Morata or Giroud up front with Hazard...

To be fair Morata is a slightly different type of 'false 9' than Hazard.

Play some goddamn attacking football after that horrible showing at Man City build some confidence for Barca away go for it we should win this at least by 2 to 3 goals.

Back to the more bread and butter games,  I am expecting a big response and a convincing win.

Well that's cheered me up.

Morata is struggling however he has not had a start for a while against a team we should be beating comfortably. He is our main man and we need to back him and hope he returns to form. Ideally, this is a game where he will have a lot more chances to score as we are the much better team.

Or, we will see the palace defence touch him and he would do his "I am falling" act for a whole 90mins. This is a must win. Pool are playing United at OT, and can drop 2/3 points. Add the game at the bridge and we can cut the 7 point gap to 1/2. Hardly a time for taking chances with a player whose confidence is completely shattered. I would go with giroud up front, get the win and then put morata on for 30mins or so and hope he can get his mojo back. Starting with morata is suicidal at the moment.

Can we just win a game please?

Palace back in the relegation zone, this should be interesting.

They have been one of our bogey teams yet we need a decent performance and to go with a striker. Giroud would be my preference.

I feel a result against Palace is vitally important after the last couple of league results.

Absolutely no excuse if we don't win this game. Our nemesis Zaha and their best defender, Sakho won't be playing so I expect a comfortable win. Their central defence pairing are definitely shaky so I would start with Giroud. I don't think Giroud and Morata will start as Conte isn't that cavalier in his approach. I can see Morata lining up against Barcelona, though. We badly missed Kante against City so, I'm hoping he's recovered for this one. Ampadu looks like he's a non runner but Barkley should be OK.

Got to be realistic here. If Palace turn up how they have been turning up against us lately, it's going to be a tough game. Seriously, this has 1-3 written all over it if we don't snap out of this bullsh*t. Forget Chelsea on paper, the reality is, at the minute, we are not playing well, with confidence at an all time low. If 3 points are not collected here, then the top 4 which has probably already gone, will definitely have gone.
