You're right - I remember now, there was a thing about Kenedy coming down there when they were getting ready to open =- Part of a big Daily Mail piece about Kenedy

still no news today, wonder what the hold up is for his medical and unveiling...

Reminds me of Bakayoko, the guy was having a medical for about 2 weeks before it was confirmed that he signed.......Barkley took about 4 months

I mean, your club just dropped over £100m on a 33 year old (34 come February).
Jorginho is coming off the back of 3 good seasons and when you look at what other midfielders are going for it seems about right for the current market.
Yeah right same thing mate, good comparison

As good as Ronaldo is, he's still 33.  He's not going to get any better at this stage and you'll probably get two good seasons out of him before he starts to really slow down.

I don't disagree with you it is possible and in any case Ronaldo is mainly a commercial and marketing investment more than technical but even 2 years of the real Ronaldo would be worth 20 of jorginho. Seriously guys if you pay jorginho 65m you should pay higuain 200, rugani 100 and sell hazard for 400.

Absolutely incredible price for me ,[emoji849]

Obviously some cringey video shooting or something.

I'd say it's par for the course considering we get our new head coach and a new playmaker for the squad as well.

Bakayoko at 40m was an incredible price.

I'm sorry but that post is utter dribble.

have you been living under a rock these past few years? You do realise the transfer market it highly inflated now where good players are going for well over the 40 million mark now?

If a player has a long contract, is one of the best in the league and is in their prime...like this player then that's the going rate.

your own club spend more on the likes of Higuain a few years back so not sure you understand the topic you are trying to get involved in.

I have no doubt he's horrendously overpriced. This is Napoli we're talking about. We've just got Sarri. They're hardly going to give us one of their players at a rock bottom price. No, they're going to fleece us for everything we've got. We know from experience you can't prise one of their players away unless you make an offer that's too good to be true. We've seen it with Koulibaly. We just couldn't prise him off them, despite extortionate bids. Higuain? How much did Juventus pay for him? That's the way it goes. Sarri wanted Jorginho and we got him for him, but we've paid over the odds in all probability. We even outbid City for him. City. They had a fee they weren't prepared to go over and we've outbid the biggest spending club on the planet. I hope Sarri's happy and I hope he turns out to be good. He'll be 27 in December so not a lot of resale value. Hopefully we get good value out of him and hopefully he's cut out for the Prem, which is a lot more physical than Serie A and you don't get half as much time on the ball. 8 caps for Italy isn't a lot, considering it's the poorest team they've had in their history, but by all accounts he's a late bloomer so maybe we shouldn't pay too much attention to that. Sarri evidently wanted him and deems him an important player. We should all be happy the club have gone out to make him happy and we should all be happy the club are prepared to spend over the odds to do so. That's the criticism that's been levelled before at the board. This time they've paid that bit extra to get their man, assuming he comes of course, which I fully expect him to do, given the reports.

What is with certain fans, this obsession with player sell-on value!? We've (maybe) purchased a player to improve the squad, not for future profit! If we buy Jorginho for £65m and sell him on in 3/4 years for £5m, then so be it! It's what he does for us in between that matters ffs!

I think that comparing Jorginho to Higuain or Ronaldo shows quite a bit of optimism. Higuain and Ronaldo are/were among the top 5 in their respective roles in the world. Jorginho I doubt is even in the top 20 midfielders in Europe, but that is my opinion having seen him playing live and on TV around 50  games in the last few years but probably you know better. Anyway clearly you are taking it personally  with these  messages about what Juve might or might not have done which is besides the point that Jorginho at 65 is way overpriced.

Chelsea has more often than not bought amazing players  like Kante, Hazard or Alonso at a very good price and I was happy for that because it is my fav English team, but I do not think I am offending anybody if I find surprising this evaluation despite the inflated market values, if Jorginho is worth 65 I expect that anything below 300 for Hazard will be laughed at...

Hopefully the end of Cesc, he can wear his pilot shirts doing punditry!

Just need someone committed to replace Thibaut so he can go and live in Madrid. I can’t help but feel short changed on Thibaut, he has never performed for us like he did in that semi final.

First of all, its 65m euros which is about 57£

second, to the people saying where does this leave our other players, I can see Sarri playing with 3 in the middle them being Kante, Jorginho and RLC. Leave Kante at the back allowing Jorginho and RLC to move forward. Baka, Barkley as subs and selling Drinkwater on.

Come on mate are you serious.... Ronaldo is a commercial only signing the guy scored goals for fun and is one of the best players that ever put on a pair of boots. Yeah he can’t go past players with ease as he has in the past but his goals per game ratio is incredible.

And what are you talking about with Jorginho.. it’s 50m and 7 for Sarri... that’s a good price in today’s market he’s 25 and been playing at a high standard for a few seasons compair that with Savic at Lazio who they are talking 135m for... Higuain is 30 mate and Juventus will have to sell players hence why we are in for Rugani the point you are trying to make is reduculas

your just talking negative nonsense
