October 5, 20196 yr Juve IMO haven't been quite as good this season as in prior seasons (I saw the game against Fiorentina and IMO they were lucky not to lose), while I would back Conte to win the league in his first season with any club, even Inter. Plus Inter is playing at the San Siro. So I would back them to get up this time.

Conte vs Sarri Sunday night Conte has made a great start with 100% record Sarri not bad either just one draw after 6 games so 2 points behind Conte. I follow Inter and love Conte passion so I am going for inter to shade this, they are at home, arguable Juve is still the storngest team in serie A, Can't bring myself to root for Conte after what he did in the last six months here. Although I would say there's a good chance he does win it.
October 7, 20196 yr I thought it was quite preditable Juve are probably still the strongest team still very disappointed
October 7, 20196 yr Juve were excellent against Inter last night. Sarri actually changed things up and played 4-3-1-2 with Ronaldo and Dybala up top. They caused Inter a lot of problems.

October 8, 20196 yr Especially the second half of Juventus against Internazionale was brilliant. Higuain was ruthless

Do you have any evidence that Conte deliberately sabotaged our season and only "turned it back on" for the FA Cup? We finished 5th (70 points) in his final season and we finished 3rd (72 points) when Sarri was in charge, so it seems that were an inconsistent team more than anything and the last two seasons was a fair reflection of where we sat in the broader league. From where I'm sitting, you just have a grudge against Conte. Edited November 7, 20196 yr by Jezz

From where I'm sitting, you just have a grudge against Conte. We were second and well clear of 5th coming into January, then all off a sudden we're averaging one win a month and setting up like a non league side against City. He went from being the most passionate manager about pained when we were even conceding a goal to not giving two sh*ts when Watford put three past us in ten minutes amoung other horrors. Do I have a video recording of Conte openly saying he didn't give a sh*t? No of course not, however his comments and body language made his thoughts clear as day (even more so if you directly compare them to the time he was motivated). Maybe I was a bit harsh implying sabotage (apart from the City game) however do I believe defeats were affecting him the same way they did in the first 18 months? Absolutely not. And let's not forget, he's doing the exact the same thing at Inter, already whining that he hasn't got enough signings even though he was given 8 players at the cost of over 100m (which is a lot for a club in Italy who are under FFP constraints) yet still went on a rant the other day about how it wasn't enough. Could you imagine if he was here under the current circumstances, do you think after losing Hazard without a direct replacement and having Kante/Rudi injured for most of the season he would have knuckled down, got on with it and put his entire focus on getting the absolute best out of what he has like Lampard has done? I think we both know the answer to that. Grudge? If you mean angry that I spent about £1000 that half season following Chelsea up and down the land (and Barcelona) to be rewarded with a sulky manager who didn't give a sh*t then guilty (and the fact he's proven he is capable of getting average teams punching makes it worse, what did he have to lose doing it for five more months?). For all the things Jose did wrong in his last few months (which was pretty much nearly everything) the one thing I can't take away from him is he stayed commited to the job until the moment he was fired. If he did everything by the book that year why did the club try and refuse his compo? A board that happily paid Scolari and AVB no questions asked refused a title winning manager payment for sh*ts and giggles? Yeah right. Edited November 7, 20196 yr by Argo

June 26, 20206 yr I think Sarri was decent but we weren’t a good fit for each other. Thankfully it worked out well for both of us so we mustn’t complain. One thing though, Sarri did get us playing out from the back extremely well. Every time it was fantastic.

Overhauling an entire style of play from pragmatic to possession based high line/attack is very complex, 99.9% of the time the early stages either involves a lot of boring/cautious possession (Sarri here and this season at Juve) or a lot of games of pinball (us this season, Pep's first at City). I think Juve are ultimately preparing for Pep and Sarri's there to do the growing pain part of it so Pep doesn't have too.

I can see him leaving City at the end of the year especially if there is no CL. I think he has just run his course there. He made similar comments to his comments after Barca lost to us in the CL in 2012 about the team lacking the drive to win again after so much success.
June 28, 20206 yr Didn’t Pep hint at the possibility of retiring after City? He said he has a very clear plan of the life span of his management career. I guess it’s whether he wants to try Italy or not.

He might even be the guy they hire to be Sporting Director or President even.

He left Barcelona while they had their best generation at the peak, he obviously didn't want to deal with any possible trouble in the future.
