Severely underrated by some. Always hears it when he's had a poor game but often doesn't get enough credit for his top ones.

Magnificent today. More often than not he's been excellent since Tuchel took over.

Played well tonight. A game where I would score him an 8/10 and that doesn't happen very often over the course of a season.

Anyway do you think we should get Ndidi? I was thinking that till this point but now I see he's really a shameless thug so I got some mixed feelings about it. Very annoying Fofana kicking Werner the whole game and Ndidi basically everyone else he's close to.

I would prefer Bissouma. He has more to his game than Ndidi IMO. Fofana is a real talent and a real athlete.

At this point I despise anyone who's ever associated with Amartey on any level, so I'd say keep him far away from this club! Nothing irks me more than bench warmers pricks.

But if I'm being reasonable he's a good player, just don't see him being to answer to our prayers. Seems to be a little bit reckless on his tackles to my liking, iirc he's also the player with most fouls in the PL (maybe this year... something along those lines was mentioned during the FA game)

Of Jorginho's 13 Premier League goals, 11 have been penalties [85%], the highest such ratio by any player with 10+ goals in the competition's history. Only Frank Lampard in 2009-10 (10) has scored more penalties in a single Premier League season for Chelsea than Jorginho in 2020-21 (7). Penalty specialist.

Confession time. I had to leave the room for the pen! I don’t think I’ve ever done that before. I like to think I’m old enough to have some healthy perspective when it comes to football these days. But for some reason I was a nervous wreck last night.

Not for the pen (he scores too many too be make me nervous) but the last 5-7 mins I was pondering whether to switch off and look at the final result 8 mins later or not..glad I stayed brave but the Perez chance was almost too much. Getting older I think...lol

Some say penalties are a gamble but IMO the player taking it has a huge advantage over the keeper, sometimes you can see on a player's face how's he's doing before taking a penalty, good example Anelka 2008 I knew he was going to miss it. But when it comes to Jorginho it's that hop that he does that sometimes looks like he's gambling so it's almost like an extra factor, like when he missed in the cup final against Man City even when he was taking the first penalty.

If it comes down to a penalty shootout in the CL final, the players that I would select would be first Dave then Jorginho, Havertz, Alonso/Chilwell and Mount as last.

Gol thanks for your response BUT - this wasn’t really about Jorginho. More about the game itself. I would probably have not only left the room but also gone upstairs and blocked my ears had it been Werner taking the pen.

Yeah was more about the game in general as per my response to @Gol15

I heard that claim about the keepers perspective and tend to agree. From outside it's hard to determine if a player gambles with his shot or not (to some extent they all gambe somehow you could say) - if that image above is from yesterday (doesn't really matter) you can see that Jorgi looks at the keeper so I'd think he knew what he was doing. Looks weird seeing him flying around like that though 😄

Well if you had that much fun during the latest PL game, CL final smiles at you my friend! :good2:

If Werner converted the penalty VAR would disallow it because Werner was offside.

Haha! You know what - I will be much more relaxed for that one weirdly and that’s partly because I have low expectations and it’s not a must win (for now and I hope that is the case when we get to it!) in the same way yesterday’s was. It will be disappointing to lose of course but I’m resigned to it. Losing or drawing yesterday would have been horrid.

Or... he would opt to not strike it with his foot, but slide in on the ground and try and arm it in.

Hhmm. Not sure that would have helped Dean. If Werner was taking the penalty you could have gone upstairs, shut the door and hidden under the duvet, but Werner would still probably have hit you with the ball.

Your safest position in that situation is between the goal posts.

I'm not sure why he keeps doing that whole "routine" when at times it didn't work, he did take a normal penalty at some point and then his shot even had some power to it... But that's the point I guess, the testing of character and what not, like when Zidane chipped the ball against Buffon in the World Cup final before he was sent off.

Firstly I hope we dont go to pens again, we dont have Drogba or Lamps for one.

Secondly that is a horrible list of pen takes if we end up with those 5. Could be worse and include Werner but still, certain defeat if those 5 take them, probably would not even see number 5 take his.

Would be better having Rudiger, Silva and Zouma join Dave and Jorgi lol.

Same here, I treat it as a bonus, which is the result of a lot of hard work so fully deserved. I'm just crossing fingers that there aren't any dodgy decisions or flukey own goals (by us) that would tarnish the result. And of course that we comfortably win this thing so we can all chuckle when thinking back about all this "race to the top four" nonsense doing our heads in..

What's wrong with the players I put, I read somewhere that Havertz never missed a penalty while he was playing in Germany and he tried to chip Courtois so he's ice cold, then I trust Mount to bury that like Lampard basically and to spice it up you got a left-footed player like Alonso that is basically a striker mentally speaking
