There's simply no case for comparison, for me Pulisic is more Harry Kewell or Andros Townsend than Messi or Ronaldo - he's not even close to their potential at the same age. First that was as a teenager.... before turning 19 so as a 17 and 18 year old. He just turned 20. He's 4 months older than Mason Mount, and Mount has been doing his thing in the Championship this year. Pulisic has been doing it in the Bundesliga for 3 years. And while he's no Messi or Ronaldo, he's much closer to them than he is to either of your comparison's. Pulisic did more before turning 20 than Townsend has his entire career. While I don't think he's Messi, I think he'll be better than Raheem Sterling.

December 7, 20187 yr In the Bundesliga he got 4 goals 5 assists at the age of 19, 3 goals 6 assists at the age of 18 while making around 30 appearances in each season. Not far off Willian’s stats and he’s what 10 years younger?
December 8, 20187 yr Isn't the idea that we're meant to improve on Willian right now not match his stats?

There should be four things in transfers in my opinion. 1) Buy younger players that can already match the older players production with room to grow, 2) buy better production, 3) take fliers 4) fill in with veteran depth. It's expensive to buy better players both in wage and transfer fee. If you buy older proven players you risk decline, if you buy great players in their prime... no one wants to sell or unbelievable fees are being spent, especially on attackers.

I would be okay with it if we already had a player scoring a whole load of goals in that position, but we don't. We need more end product from right wing now, waiting 3 or 4 years for a maybe isn't going to do us any good.
December 9, 20187 yr I don't think Sarri wil have a shopping basket in january with probably one signing only, if we don't foul up the negotiations. For me, why this guy is definitely worth investing in, a striker has to be a prime target, surely.
December 9, 20187 yr An Agüero type finisher to compliment our style of play against Man city 2nd half.
December 11, 20187 yr What we need is a finisher so we get points in games like wolves or everton where we dominate but haven't won mainly due to lack of finishing. I think Sarri's style of football maybe works better with the fast, movement oriented striker rather than the point of reference type bigger guy. Has to be someone with character who can really lead front line. I think there are a few out there. i don't know about the italian strikers but depay or lacazette, or say Nicolas Pepe, maxi gomez. Theres a few to be honest if you look hard.
December 16, 20187 yr pulisic and wilson will be decent maybe a defender then replace hazard in summer doesn't say much about when so here's hoping!
December 16, 20187 yr Lot of rumours this morning that we’re likely to complete a £60m deal for Pulisic but he won’t arrive until the summer. That’s a lot of money for someone that isn’t currently tearing it up. Do wonder what Hudson-Odoi would have to do to be given a fair crack. I remain sceptical about this one.
December 18, 20187 yr Trying to share an image my Liverpool mate just sent me of what appears to be Pulisic signing for Liverpool. edit. this is it. https://photos.app.goo.gl/vfpzL4oMDRvqewNr6 Edited December 18, 20187 yr by big blue

Watched him against Düsseldorf tonight & he was well average. Thorgan Hazard has been ripping up the Bundesliga & wouldn’t cost near that amount. Might even make Hazard sign a contract.
December 28, 20187 yr Author Bild is saying Dortmund and Chelsea have agreed and Pulisic will be coming to Chelsea this summer.
December 28, 20187 yr So potentially without Hazard we may lineup something like this next season... Kepa Azpi - Rudi - Luiz - Alonso Kante - Jorginho - Kovacic Pulisic - ? - Willian We're so f**ked.
December 28, 20187 yr Fuck right off if this is true and Hazard gets sold. Completely unremarkable player who has been outperformed by Sancho and benched for poor performances all round. Couple this with Bayern offering 13m for Hudson-Odoi this seems monumentally dumb if we accept Edited December 28, 20187 yr by MANoWAR

December 28, 20187 yr I'd take him over Willian and Pedro. But not over CHO ... Madness to sell him. Ideally both should be our young prospects - if Abraham doesn't cut the mustard. (Not including mount, even if he should be back next year)

If Pulisic is worth 45M with 12 months left on his contract, Hazard should fetch 100+ That's Isco and Kovacic Chelsea should cash in on close to another 100 on player sales. Maybe a bit more. Morata and Bakayoko will be around 75-80 alone. That's getting close to Icardi money. Luiz will likely be gone next season, so pencil in Christensen or someone like Rugani. So, I see some significant changes in the potential lineup. Edited December 29, 20187 yr by Skinnedy Fixing typos

December 29, 20187 yr Not a terribly high price but this still just reeks of a purchase for commercial reasons. Maybe I should be excited, he’s easily the best US player of this generation, but he just seems so average to me. I’ve watched him play many times for the national team, and never once have I been blown away by him. I haven’t seen a whole lot of his Dortmund games, but his YouTube highlights (which can typically make horrible players look like Ballon D’Or candidates) even aren’t that great. The ones I’ve watched show him being pretty loose with the ball and doing nothing spectacular. Maybe I’m missing something, I don’t know. £45m isn’t that expensive these days, so that’s something positive I suppose.
December 29, 20187 yr Not terribly enthused. He has potential but he's never been that prolific and he's been fairly unimpressive in the Bundesliga this season. I would prefer someone like Thorgan TBH.
