Doesn’t mean he will sign but getting him regular football will be in their favour. I think Aina will leave as he is doing well on his loan and they can get him at a reasonable fee afterwards. We do have Reece James and Jay Da Silva as options for full back though.

If Sarri is to remain manager going forward, might be a smart idea to give him only 17 1st team players, and 4 youth team and players since he only plays 14 players and doesn’t rate. Wouldn’t be against buying him back from Torino at a premium and getting rid of one of our LBs if funds are limited. At 22, he can only get better offensively.
February 23, 20197 yr btw the topic header is wrong - it's two transfer windows & not two years - sorta like what spuds do during a regular year - just saying

February 24, 20197 yr Peak Chelsea to buy Torino's rightback for 25 million only to loan them our own young and english rightback who turned out to be the better player. With an option to buy him for a quarter of a Zappacosta non the less.

Bristol city have an option to buy jay da Silva aswell, so he could well leave with aina. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.bristolpost.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/bristol-city-chelsea-liverpool-transfer-2404130.amp Edited February 24, 20197 yr by big blue

February 24, 20197 yr Just now, Gol15 said: OK thanks! Officially it's this summer, but every time this has happened,it's been appealed and delayed by one window the process takes months. We have appealed so there's no chance there will be a full hearing on this in time.
March 8, 20197 yr Price for Hazard just went up. I'd bet Chelsea makes Hudson-Odoi see out his contract as well. Means at least one more year of Willian and Pedro as well. Getting Pulisic in the winter looks pretty smart right now.
March 8, 20197 yr So what if we can't sign anyone in the summer then win our appeal ? Not like Fifa can give us the summer back ? So they can punish is regardless if our appeal is successful or not.

Sorry if this is a bit dense but if we appeal the ban and are found innocent (unlikely) in say September we've then been punished for nothing! These things take a while so you'd assume the appeal wont have a conclusion until after the summer transfer window.
March 8, 20197 yr I’ve read that Chelsea intend to take the matter further and are still appealing the charges - will fight the matter at the Court of Arbitration for Sport

These things take a while so you'd assume the appeal wont have a conclusion until after the summer transfer window. That isn't dense at all, it is a surprising risk that FIFA are taking. The appeal will not be concluded until the Autumn so if that did happen, FIFA would need to pay us some serious compensation - what that is is completely unknown but would be at least in the tens of millions. Forget about Hazard / Willian / Pedro, at the moment we have 5 world class players for 2 of those positions, we are fine! Central defence, we've got Zouma who can play in our squad next year to bolster that. Right back we've got Reece James who would be a handy squad option on the right and Alonso / Emerson are fine for our left side. What is most interesting is the striker position where we have Morata, Giroud, Batshuyai and Abraham and no one else. Morata is also likely to leave as we put a clause in that contract and Higuain is uncertain if he can join. Also our midfield position, we have a serious gap there, we are going to lose Kovacic and replace him with who? Mason Mount hasn't shown enough quality this season to come into our squad. Drinkwater and Bakayoko certainly aren't good enough for our current set up. RLC is injury prone. Ampadu is going to need to learn fast. Dark times.
March 8, 20197 yr Seems like the club saving face at this point. I believe they are guilty. I mean we all know how the club has been run in regards to making money from young players rather than having a plan to integrate them for years. To sign underage players with making money from them as the main goal, it seems pretty pointless now considering the situation the club have found themselves in.
March 8, 20197 yr I guess we will try and get that decision overturned, since there is numerous cases which have set a precedent, like Madrid, Atletico, and Barcelona. if we cant buy players this summer, I think we have to refuse to sell hazard. We would look so weak as a club selling our best player without being able to sign a replacement. Maybe hazard could sign an extension with a release clause that can be activated the following summer? We really need to focus on the youth players now, the striker situation will be the biggest concern, it will be either Tammy, Batshuayi or Giroud. We have pulisic, mount, James, and Zouma that could also give the team a lift, then there is Van ginkel, Bakayoko, Kenedy, Pasalic, and Morata, that could all possibly see there Chelsea careers rise from the ashes. It's going to be an interesting 18 months, hopefully we see some stars emerge, and we dont make the mistake of hoping the senior players can play 50/60 games next season.
March 8, 20197 yr FIFA moving the goal posts as soon as an English side is involved is the most FIFA thing ever. No idea how you can hold up a punishment whilst an appeal process is ongoing? Guilty until proven innocent apparently? In the unlikely event we could clear our names completely we would then be able to sue FIFA for the unfounded ban?

So he's not coming back Giroud would need a contract extension, and I don't know that he'll get one. We have Higuain option for next season that we're almost sure to pick up. That's still allowed. So next year we go in with Higuain, Batshuayi and Abraham... could be worse...
March 8, 20197 yr Didn't something similar happen with the Kakuta signing with our ban being lifted after serving some of it?

I'm sure we are guilty to some extent but as you said guilty until proven innocent is completely ridiculous. Looks like Sarri is going to have to use some more youth and i hope this is then a blessing in disguise and some of our prospects actually save us tens of millions in transfers that we can then invest on a world class signing or two instead of squad players .
