I know you are particularly obtuse, but it shouldn't really come as a surprise that on a British Chelsea forum, more people care about Chelsea than the US national team.

Interesting. You really are showing you’re ignorance, I suspect you are just a bit of a WUM. 1. He was eased into a CL match against Malmo, a Swedish team who we were dominating and got 20 mins at the end. 2. I suggested 30 mins for USA for him would be a good thing. Clearly with your comments you have very little experience or knowledge about competitive sport.
November 5, 20214 yr 2 hours ago, USATim said: That's wonderful. But if you don't think exposure in the United States and remaining relevant to the public here is important, especially when you are the "captain" of the US national team, then you are a special type of ignorant. Calm down. You are in a good position to qualify and there are still a lot of games left. I don't think it would be smart to play him for more than 15-20 minutes. I'm sorry to inform you that this is a Chelsea forum, not a US national team forum.
November 5, 20214 yr It shouldn't be a problem that @USATim wants to see Pulisic playing for his national team, I don't understand why such hostility. Playing for the US is going to make Pulisic in a better match form than not playing at all. And if he gets injured there, it won't be anything new but maybe a sign that he simply can't play in the PL which would be sad. That being said, vamos México

And if Chelsea didn't think he were "match fit," no way they would have played him against Malmo and this Saturday. They would have sat him, come up with some excuse, and handcuffed the US from bringing him into camp. But he is obviously good to go. If it was up to you Chelsea fans no foreign born Chelsea players would ever be realeased for national team duties. You would wrap them in Saran Wrap during international breaks and keep them locked up at Stamford Bridge. Real world doesn't work like that. Domestic clubs cannot block players being called up to their national sides. National team doctors will carry out their own health/fitness assessments on players to determine whether they can play. Again, this can be done with the national teams interests in mind with little to no consideration for the domestic side who holds the players contract. The fact Pulisic has missed such a lengthy period is all the more reason to carefully manage his playing time and fitness. We played him for 20 minutes against "low risk" opposition, probably using it as an opportunity to test out the recovery. If the US national team overuse him during the next couple of weeks there is a greater risk to him setting back his recovery. That the national sides have much shorter term objectives than domestic teams is exactly why so many players get injured during international breaks.
November 5, 20214 yr The more CP plays, the higher risk he'll gets injured. Unfortunate, he's not like Mount or Willian. Frankly, I rather he sit on the US bench or not show up if they can win comfortably without him. He's still not match fitness and probably still recovering. Better off staying in London the next few weeks.

November 5, 20214 yr If they only give him a few mins, I don't mind, as it's more game time and getting bacdk to fitness. But if they overuse him and he comes back injured again, I'll be furious.
November 5, 20214 yr Still waiting on someone to tell me the difference between playing 20 minutes in the most difficult league invthe world and playing 20 minutes against Mexico. How CP isn't match fit, yet able to play against Malmo and Burnley but can't against Mexico and Jamaica. Please tell me how he can be match fit enough to play there but not here. Waiting.

Waiting. maybe that is a question for CP too? South Americans for example hate missing out on playing for their national teams - they would go against the coach play on one leg for example... If CP really wants to play he will.. match fitness is also a little about how the player is feeling about his body. To be honest as a chelsea fan i have a selfish interest in him not playing for the USMNT..

November 6, 20214 yr Pulisic still looks injured. And it looked like he was limping at the end of Burnley. Hope it wasn't Chelsea that rushed him back too quick. That would be ironic now.

There is this event, pretty important, called the Olympics. And, if Pulisic ever has a good World Cup showing, he would rake in the endorsement dollars here in the US big time. So, you couldn't be more wrong. Edited November 6, 20214 yr by USATim
