Christian Pulisic - Official

Reminder that Frenkie De Jong has managed a higher goal scoring season and is currently matching Pulisic's best ever season in half the amount of games than Pulisic, playing in a deep CM role in comparison to Pulisic playing on the wing in a very attacking team.

I see you made up your mind about him before he even kicked a ball. In an ideal world we should be bidding for de jong too since he is such a great talent. Perhaps we have our own prolific dutch midfielder in our squad already!

Personally I am looking forward to see him in our squad. If nothing else i am sure he will be better than willian.

Besides who else is there in that age bracket as talented as Pulisic that we could have gotten?

Reminder that Marko van Ginkel scored 14 league goals in one season in the Eredivisie but was once so sent back early from a loan by Stoke City,

Reminder than Kezman had scored 66 league goals in the two seasons in the Eredivisie prior to joining Chelsea.

Reminder that Memphis Depay had scored 22 league goals in the Eredivisie the season prior to joining Manchester United.

Moral of the story? Goal scoring records in the Eredivisie should be taken with a pinch of salt.

I made my mind up from watching Dortmund games.

We already have Hudson Odoi!

Marko Van Ginkel would ikely have made it had it not been for his knees. Remember Mourinho taking quite a liking to him.

Depay is currently one of the best players in France and is likely to make another big move within the next year. Was misused at Utd, similar to Salah and KDB here.

Batshuayi, who everyone says isn't good enough for Chelsea scored 9 goals in 14 games for Dortmund. Chicharito even scored a goal every other game and now can't even get a game at West Ham.

Moral of the story? I'd rather us buy a player with a history of goals than one who has never shown he is slightly prolific in his career to date.

To further enhance your point, he won't turn 21 until this coming September.  Though, I do wonder if we somehow set the market for young talented players in Europe with the Pulisic signing?

Real Madrid paying £50m for vinicius after he had played 7 games is a real game changer. 16 year old rookies going at that price is mind boggling.

He is only 20 though. It's barely long enough to say he won't become a more consistent goal scorer. He actually has 9 in 23 for America, so maybe of he was playing in Holland, he would have a much better goal scoring record.

Who knows what type of player he will be like in a couple of years time, he has some excellent attributes, and he seems like a very determined person, and with him being pushed into a leadership role with his country, he could turn into a player that can take real responsibility.

I'm very optimistic about this one.

the desperation of some on here to talk down pretty much any player we sign is truly remarkable.

You do realise we don't have to approve of every signing we make. If i think they'll be good, i'll say it. If i've seen little to show that, i'll say that too.

Feel like we've signed him more for his Nationality than anything else. Never watched him and thought 'woah, this kid is good'.

FDJ’s output will likely not rise much from that for the rest of his career. Pulisic’s will.

I think it was a bit of both, he might not be too flashy, but I think he will be a great 'system' player. Hopefully his end product improves, which you would expect to be the case with his age.

United have around 50 different sponsors, we have about 15, if Pulisic can help us incr3qse the amount of money we get from sponship deals in America, whilst contributing on the pitch, then this will be a very good deal for us.

You have literally no way of proving the claim you've just made. At all. Don't make sweeping statements.

this is one of the things Chelsea does that I love. They sponsor a Giant academy here in Georgia. Thousands of kids wear a Chelsea badge every week. I've talked with some of the parents who were introduced to the PL because of this club.

we play in their Spring tournament in two weeks and Chelsea is everywhere at the facility

We do indeed, for how long we dont know yet! Hazard needs to be replaced too most probably. IF they both leave we are left with willian and pedro! I for one like the fact when the club go for young talents with potential like when we signed de bruyne, salah, lukaku. If nothing else you can sell them again as their value will hardly decrease.

Mark Pulisic was on The Football Show on siriusXM this morning, talking with Charlie Stillitano, Neil Barnett, and Ray Hudson.  It was cool to listen to, he gave a lot of great insight on Christian.  One point I found interesting was that he played centrally almost exclusively growing up, and it wasn't until Tuchel brought him into the first team at Dortmund that he started playing on the wing.

Makes me think we could use him as a CAM or striker/false 9, if needed.  Still think he needs to add some strength and bulk up a little bit, but either way, he should be versatile.

Clearly. I made an educated guess about the future. FDJ is the heir to Busquet’s position, one of the best CDM’s we’ve ever seen in the modern era. His stats year upon year are similar to FDJ’s now. Pulisic, based on his experience at an early age, work ethic and tactical discipline will play a lot of games for the club and will likely produce more assists and goals year on year.

So 10 years time Barca will have the greatest Regista in the game and we'll have paid the same amount for the United States Willian.

Or Barca will have another Hleb and Chelsea will have the greatest winger in the league. Because you know, both scenarios can happen.

Could easily see him playing LCM in Sarri's system.  He could well be a replacement for Kovacic.

Started 5 games all season and been on the bench ever since he has been sold. Can’t get my head round what he is still doing there with the price we paid. Needs to be playing consistently at 20 to live up to expectations.

I’m sure the plan is that we are moving on from either Pedro or Willian, or god forbid CHO, in the summer which opens up a spot for Pulisic.  He would likely be on the bench for us anyways, not always easy to break into a team mid season and in a top 4 fight.

I see them all the time now. My neighbors kid plays there. I have a Chelsea crest on my car and the kid comments on it all the time lol

If we spent over 60 million and they couldn’t get in over Willian or Pedro then the game is up.
