Christian Pulisic - Official

That's concerning as I vaguely remember Landon Donovan and vaguely remember he was not a player that stood out though good work rate.

Pulisic was better at 18 than Donovan was in his prime... and it's not really close.

Pulisic is easily the most creative player the US has ever produced, and his ability to beat a man one v one is unmatched for the USMNT.

I'm not making any predictions for his club career, but he's the best field player the US has ever had already... I know, it's a short list...

Pulisic is not better then Donovan ever was.... He will be probably, but he is not yet. Currently Donovan is the best player ever for USA along with Tim Howard. Pulisic will probably surpass both, but not currently he has not.

Matt Miazga, surely?

Look who decided to purchase him. Not Sarri, probably the Russian bird who in Romans absence (he spends his time in Israel & Russia since his UK visa problems) is running the club. I live in USA, mateys in the know over here took the piss big time when 58 mill was spent on the boy, he may be the USAs brightest young hope but he ain’t no Landon Donovan. Hope I’m wrong but he’s gonna likely end up in the Morata/ Baka/ Zappa / Drinky pool. As for replacing Eddie - large laughs all round.

He's one of the biggest talents in European football currently, he was bought because of his talent and not because someone from the club just decided all by himself to get him.
Donovan never played in Europe or at least never made a career in Europe, while Pulisic at 18 years of age could make it in Bundesliga, the comparison is not even fair but Pulisic already is the youngest captain in USA history.

And all that means nothing until he comes here and proves himself. We have bought expensive flops, young flops, talented flops, elite flops, we have had the lot, so until he comes here and shows us what he's got, i'll just be half expecting another flop.

On pure ability alone, he's already better... at the very least it's debatable as opposed to a statement of "he ain't no Donovan"... no he's not... thank goodness... Donovan was a Championship Level player.

as far as what he has accomplished with his career, he has a ways to go, but he's already played in more competitive games at a higher level than Donovan.

I always say field player though, because of Friedel and Howard.

That's your problem not mine. The player is only 20 years old and projected to be a great player, if people expect fans to have patience with Sarri then fans should have patience for this young talent, he didn't flop at anything yet and instead of supporting you're basically expecting him to fail for no real reason. Some positive thinking might do you well.

Didn't realise he was captain of the US team which is unfortunate and suggests he will go to the gold cup and miss some vital pre-season training.

Positive thinking was something i use to do, when we were sh*t and in division two.

Just with that alone you should be happy seeing where the club is now despite everything...

It's not set in stone but he did break the record by being the captain at least once.

I actually thought Dempsey was more rated than Howard!

Pulisic is already better than Donovan; Donovan could have made a decent wage  playing in the Premier League no problem - maybe not top 6. He got bundesliga games when he was a teenager; he was just a California boy, that wanted to stay in California.  He's always been a quirky personality.  The MLS was paying him close to $5 mil/ year 5 years ago to play and he got to do that in his hometown.

If nothing else I'm just excited about the possibility of Pulisic giving us something new in attack.

The wingers have needed freshening up for a few years now. We've neglected to invest in those positions properly for a few years now.

Pedro was the last signing there and even he was signed for a rather modest £20m.

After the embarrassing failure that was Cuadrado maybe the board have been feeling rather cautious but it's a signing that's long overdue and I'm looking forward to seeing a new face in the attack next season.

Cuadrado wasn't even a bad player, it was the Mourinho part 2 effect, came here didn't perform in the minimum game time he got, was reserved to the bench from then on.

That’s not Mourinho - that’s Chelsea. Look at all the fringe players & youth, they get 10 minutes and unless they score a hat trick it’s back to the bench they go.

Personally, I can’t wait to see what Pulisic brings to the table. I’d love us to be able to rotate between Hazard, CHO & Pulisic next year, as unlikely as that may be!

Yes he was.

He was atrocious to the point of looking incompetent.

He was very good at the clubs we bought him off and the clubs he went to afterwards, he was particularly good in the season that we sold him to Juve.

This is part of the issue, we say players are sh*t in the Mourinho era because they had a few games and didn't play really well, we may as well say Salah and KDB are sh*t players then.

I get the point you're trying to make.

But Cuadrado was proper sh*t.

Worst player to pull on a Chelsea jersey in my over twenty years of watching us... And I've seen Ambrosetti play for us.

He wasn't very good but he barely played, it was just like Salah.

Worst player I've ever seen in a Chelsea shirt (bare in mind I'm one of the young Chelsea fans on here so I didn't watch any of the 90's) was Bakayoko by some distance.

I would say that Jokanovich was easily the worst player ever for us.

That's harsh mate. Veron was much more expensive and really just had maybe 1 good game or something like that.
