People are underestimating the advertising / sponsorship avenues that will open up by us signing him. Even if he is a flop, the money he could bring in could easily justify his price tag. If you dont like that aspect of football then sorry buds - this is the new reality! There is a money game also being played in this era.

As above, I think this guy will grab us a load of new American fans and as a global brand that's always a good thing.

Hopefully his talent shines and he takes over from Willian/Pedro, he may even be replacing Hazard unless we have somebody else coming in. 

The commercial aspect, whilst relevant, is in danger of being overhyped a tad here. Millions of football fans in the US doesn't necessarily translate into millions of new Chelsea fans. It's not like existing fans of other Premier League clubs are going to jump ship just because their countryman has gone to a rival.

He's here on the merit of his talent, anything else is a bonus. We're already locked in to the Nike deal until 2032, so Pulisic won't be having much of an impact on that particular revenue plank unless he's still plodding along in the first team aged 33.

All that said, though, I am envisioning a big Delta Airlines jetliner with a Pulisic graphic plastered over the fuselage. I'm sure our commercial dept. will be exploring new opportunities in the US.

Pedro would be my guess, like when we sold Ramires 6 months after he signed a 4 year extension.

I think there’s a chance that Pulisic plays as our attacking midfielder.  It’s his natural position, he only started playing on the wing when Dortmund brought him into the first team.

Side note - I completely forgot that Ramires had just signed that extension before we sold him.  Always had a soft spot for that guy, had a wondergoal in him, that’s for sure.

Would mean we're not likely buy Kovacic at the end of the season unless Sarri changes his mind and wants to use him as cover/competition for Kante and Jorginho instead of that LCM position. 

Only thing I'd say about Pulisic playing in midfield is that we're left with the problem of RLC, Barkley and another all competing for one spot again and I'm not sure RLC is going to stick around if he's not nailing down a regular starting place. 

I do like Pulisic but I'm really not that fussed on the commercialisation of the signing, if that's one of the reasons why we brought him in then I'm disappointed, we need to be looking at signing actual good players. 

I was unaware of his activity this season, he's been benched by a 19 year old, before that I highly rated him whenever I saw him play. Not going to write him off but that's kind of confused me I must say.

He was injured and then made clear he wanted to move. It's not quite as simple as just him being benched by a 19 year old.

He has only played 174mins in the league  last 4mths though. Which averages at 17mins per game.

To be honest I am not fussed if they dont play him because we know he is a great talent and it means less chances of an serious injury. I think he will surprise a few people.

I'm starting to wonder if we're the ones who didn't want him until summer. 

Trying to convince CHO to sign a new 5 year contract with Bayern sniffing around and suddenly another £60m winger turns up further blocking his path into the first team?

It would create a tricky situation, that's for sure.  I think ideally, we move on from either Willian or Pedro, so Pulisic could rotate between RW and attacking midfield, wherever he is most needed.  Honestly, I think if we just scrap this Barkley experiment, it makes things much easier.  We could keep RLC happy if it's just him and Pulisic fighting for the one spot, especially if Pulisic slots in at RW, RLC would be starting all of those games.

he's insurance at this point. they have a 7 point lead in Bundesliga... They need Pulisic for cover and the stretch run... and Pulisic might want to be there for the title charge as well. 

going to be an interesting summer... about the only thing I'm sure about on the wing is that Pulisic will be in a Chelsea shirt... the rest is kind of up in the air.

I'm yet to be convinced. We seem to be have bought him for his potential at the moment. £60m for potential is a massive risk to take.

Very good the first 20mins but has been a bit iffy the longer the game has gone. Clearly needs game time but a tricky one if he is not scoring/assisting.
