Class statement.

Never accepted anything but the best, his ambition and follow-through have been unrivaled.

Let's face it, we were lucky he chose us, and the feats the club achieved under his tenure stand as testament to his investment and commitment.

I hope the next owners réalise what he's built and keep the same energy going forward.

Wonder if this means negotiations with a buyer are fairly advanced already. Because surely it's not a great negotiation tactic to make it official that the club will 100% be sold otherwise?

I'm no expert on the nuances of high finance, but it might be a master stroke having the sale proceeds go to a charity. Probably a massive tax write off for the prospective buyers ... and hence very attractive, and especially so given the nature of the cause ?

It will also stop the government freezing his asset less they want to take a f**k ton of money away from innocent victims of war…

Sad statement for sure but the only prudent course of action he could take tbh

Good news he’s written off the loans to keep the club afloat. Never dreamed in the 70s that we’d win everything but we have THANKS to this great man!!

It feels like an ending but it could be just the beginning of something just as damn good.
Cheers Roman you are the best owner any FC could have or dream of.

What a sad end for Roman's time with us. All we can do is say thanks for the incredible 20 years that have unfolded under his leadership.

It goes without saying that the hypocrisy of what is or isn't acceptable in terms of ownership of a football club has reached 11/10. It's a shame that he seems to have been forced to sell.

Let us look forward with hope that our next owner has the same commitment and passion as the last.

What I don't understand from that statement is he mentioned the net proceeds will go to a charity for Ukrainian war victims, Which in essence means he's on the Ukrainian side as he hasn't turned a blind eye to the actual war. So are we now freezing assets of Russians who don't stand with Putin also? Hilarious considering the Saudi's have so much real estate in Central London and just a few weeks back launched airstrikes into Yemen, All a bit weird.

People are trying to spin it now and say he's helping Russian victims in Ukraine. Basically, he can't win, because to a lot of people, football rivalry trumps everything, even a war.

Quite sad that his leaving us will always be remembered in the same sentence as this horrible war on Ukraine. It shows his class and ultimately the no win situation he is in. I'm mindful of the fact that innocent people are dying so perspective must be given, however it's still a sad enough day.

To all those pricks, Neville and Carragher that Labour politician who dug us out for the sake of a headline, shame on ya, absolute bellends.

We couldn't have ever hoped for a better owner from a pure football perspective, Invested huge amounts, had a clear passion for the club, attending as much as he could and when you saw his reactions during games, it was obvious the club was more than a business venture.

Him calling what's going on in Ukraine a war goes against the Putin line and although the statement doesn't rule out support for Russian victims, I can't see a charitable foundation in the UK being allowed to actively support Russia. Does at least show some evidence that he has been wanting to distance himself from Putin ever since he arrived here. Being too critical against Putin is unfortunately a good way to get pumped full of radioactive material, even billionaires have been targeted by him.

I thank you all for your kind words. I am in fact the very best club owner in history of mankind and you were very lucky and undeserving to have me.

Last but not least, even after the sale goes through I will still continue posting on this very forum with my great insights, so it's not all bad news.

And still shearer and co have a pop at him decking w**kers

All of these pundits can just shut up, hypocritical self important arses.

They're all eagerly awaiting travelling to Qatar for the world cup. Not a word on Qatar sending troops and ordinance into Yemen. Not a word in support of all the LGBT supporters who have to deal with a competition in a country that still has the death penalty for them.

The Fact That Gary, Shearer And Micah Still Have A Go At Roman For Not Coming Out And Condemning The War Is Pathetic, Read Through The Whole Statement Then You'll See He's Condemning It Without Saying It By Talking About The Funds Being Giving To Charities To Do With People Who Have Lost Loved One's On The Ukrainian Side During This War
