Now if i was put on the spot, my money would be on Boehly, Wyss and Candy.   Nick Candy alone is definitely not happening, he can afford to run the club himself. He needs serious money behind him via investors.   

 

I did also hear that the Raine group do still have some control over the sale... whether thats BS i dont know

 

The government are ready to grant a special licence to The Raine Group to complete the sale of #Chelsea, although they would retain oversight of the process and are likely to demand that all the money raised be given away to charities linked to Ukraine.

 

 

So the Raine group still oversee the sale, but govt simply step in soon as funds transfer and intercept the money, so to speak making sure its donated.  If that is the case, Nick Candy is not so much of a sure thing, I think he has to join Todd/Wyss if he wants in

Matt Law has the kind of accuracy with Chelsea rumours that only comes from being briefed by someone at the club. I suspect if he's going all in with him (and the investors he's fronting), it's because they're either the bidder the club is trying to butter up or they're at the most advanced stage.

Apparently Nike has decided to stay and back the club.

Also rumors that the Wyss Todd bid is far out ahead in the running so far.

So I picked a great 48 hours to be away and not checking messages, media or anything at all !

Blimey .. what have I come back to LOL.

Surely these sanctions on the football club actually have a positive effect on Abramovich's cash flow ... ? He's got to be better off without having to continually pump in money to keep us afloat ?

the latter, i said it on another forum, or may have been here i forget now.... it was really coincidental that Wyss was the first public billionaire to say "yes, Roman is selling, he wants out and im wanting to buy," amongst other things -  and then 24-48 hrs later, its confirmed.  I said at that point their bid is further along than we realise.  Look how quick his investors, Boehly plus the unnamed one, were grouped together.

Anybody know how a change of owner would work under the circumstances? For example lets say Wyss/Boehly consortium have put together a reasonable bid. The government would presumably handle the transaction and either freeze or donate the money received. In that case does Roman's team still have to agree to the sale? Because they would do so knowing that none of the proceeds would go to him or his company presumably.

On the ownership battle that is more general reading on various published pieces that seem to point to then as front runners. Also Todd tried before to get us and seems determined to do so now.
