July 28, 20232 yr https://www.chelseafc.com/en/news/article/change-to-ticket-restrictions-for-young-fans Not sure this is the best policy to attract new ‘core’ support. I like many attended games along with mates from the age of 11, by 14 I was attending games 200 miles away…all without getting into any bovver. Young fans are the lifeblood of the game, they add to the atmosphere that makes the Premier League and English game what it is.

Yeah not a huge fan of that. 14 year olds are definitely old enough to attend a game without an adult.
July 29, 20232 yr Why have kids come on the cheap when you can get tourists paying full price and spending loads of money?

Is this not a premier league thing, I'm sure I remember Arsenal making under 14s go with an adult and there being some kickback a whole ago.

CAN MY CHILD ATTEND A MATCH ON THEIR OWN, OR WITH A GROUP OF FRIENDS? A child must be 14 years old or over to be able to attend a match unaccompanied. An under 14 child cannot attend on their own. They must have a responsible person aged 16 or over with them. Multiple junior tickets can be sold, if all of the group are 14 years and over. Parental permission will need to be given for each junior ticket. https://www.manutd.com/en/help/faqs/safeguarding#:~:text=Can my child attend a,16 or over with them. This to be fair seems to be the most appropriate age taking into account safeguarding. I accept times have changed since I first attended games but excluding 14-16-year-olds from attending alone seems to me excessive. The game and club on the whole should be doing their utmost to attract new younger fans especially if we are serious about filling a 60k plus stadium in the future.
August 3, 20232 yr A tick for the old regime. Sold Livramento to Saints for 4m with a hefty sell-on clause. Newcastle apparently paying Saints 35m for him. The sell-on clause is said to operate on a sliding scale - the higher the Saints' profit, the higher Chelsea's percentage. Nice work.

The thing is that youngsters would find it almost impossible I would imagine to decide go to a game and be able to all sit together as a group? The old times when you could get together on a Saturday and decide to go to a game are almost impossible today with memberships and season tickets . I haven't seen a group of youngsters together at the Bridge for years , although there's a fair few at away games. We had the oldest fans in the EPL a few years ago , the club will have to halt senior half price season tickets if it carries on ! 😁😁😁

It’s led to many grounds becoming quiet on the home terracing, perhaps the introduction of safe standing will change atmosphere? Many I know though now enjoy the lower divisions for a better experience. The ‘true’ experience is now only evident in the lower leagues

I went to the Exeter/Plymouth in April in the standing area behind the goal and thought the atmosphere was a bit of a let down, although that being said a lunchtime kick off combined with Plymouth making Exeter attack that end in the first half may have contributed.

August 4, 20232 yr The Todd has bought so many players I’m really looking forward to the Game4Ukraine thing on Saturday just because it involves players I’ve actually heard of.
August 4, 20232 yr The Cucurella, Sterling, Koulibaly deals and the Potter appointment were rushed and the owners were bound to mistakes in their early days in a completely new and complicated business environment. But you have to hand it to them the way they've handled the aftermath of that terrible transfer window and horrible season by appointing a top manager and rebuilding the squad basically playing real life Football Manager. Most fans would have thought it's impossible to shift so many players in such a short space of time, but they did it and for great amounts of money, too. It's mental how Thiago Silva (38) and Sterling (28) are now the two senior players in the squad. Chilly is 26. Disasi, Nkunku and Cucurella are 25. The rest of the squad is made of players born 2000 or later than that. You could argue anyone can build a young squad full of duds, but deals like Malo Gusto, Jackson, Andrey Santos, Casadei, Mudryk, show you there was a lot of research behind those deals and there are people at the club that have an eye for real talent. We're a couple of players away from a complete rebuild. A top midfielder to partner Enzo, in the mould of Caicedo or Tchouameni and a right winger to compete with Madueke. My preference is Olise. And maybe a decent back-up for Jackson.

A proper CDM, a RW with goals/assists and a backup ST is all that is needed and then we can see who the weak links are and get rid whilst adding quality to the squad. It looks like the scouts that we got are finally paying off because we have proper gems in the team now. No more players that have high wages and dont want to be here. We still need to get rid of lukaku/ziyech/CHO etc but I think that will be sorted in the next couple of weeks hopefully

August 6, 20232 yr Anyone worried by our spending? Forget that I don't know who half these players are or never heard them a year ago. I just cannot understand how we are able to sign so many players compared to other clubs. Hope we don't get sanctioned for ffp in the next 5 10 years
