July 21, 20232 yr I’d swear to god that some have never said anything good about the club, nor under Roman nor now, and some of you only serve as speakers to bad news. Don’t you get tired of bashing the club and never have anything positive to say about Chelsea?
July 21, 20232 yr I’d have thought nkunku preceded Vivell’ s formal appointment. You can see it as chaos but equally that a clear structure and hierarchy is now in place. Vivell clearly expected to be higher in the pecking order and not getting that is leaving. Fair enough.

July 21, 20232 yr People will interpret this as chaos, but IMO its more about refining the hierarchy of the club, can't have too many people doing the same thing.

July 22, 20232 yr Vivell was touted to be quite high up in the pecking order and was meant to be looking after the global element of it - but found himself reporting into Winstanley and Stewart. Doubt that would have gone down well
July 22, 20232 yr Our bonkers owners have been doing a good job of selling off the flops (a good few of which they’d just signed) and only a few more to go (Cucurella, Stirling and Lukaku please). But now we have a relatively small and very inexperienced squad. Is there any hope they can make some good signings to add quality and experience to the squad? I see they’re still all at sea in the offices, so my hopes of them successfully improving the squad are pretty low.

I put this in the vivelli thread, but want to use it to reply to you as your 100% bamg on, there's a weird set of fans desperate to show how much they hate everything about Chelsea like it makes them the bestest fans ever, so odd and tedious. I think perspective is needed on all these issues, the purchase of the club and initial structure was done in a ridiculously short time scale, something that would usually be several months of planning was threw into place in a few weeks to cover people leaving etc. That didn't go well, and I'm actually impressed on how quickly they have seen the problems and acted to get them sorted. Obviously this goes against certain "fans" agenda that they're a bunch of yank idiots who have no idea what theyre doing blah blah blah yakkity smakkity

July 25, 20232 yr One rumour doing the rounds is that the owners, rather than directors, are pushing for Gallagher and Chalobah to be sold and replaced with players for cheaper fees and wages. This might tie in to what Pochettino said about him supporting the club's decision. Jan talks about it here: Edited July 25, 20232 yr by axman2526

Granted we can get nice fees for them that will count as pure profit for FFP purposes ... so that is a more likely angle to me than a wages argument.

Sounds like clickbait tosh to me.

He signed a new deal not long ago and surely, unless we replace him with a youth player like Humphreys, it would cost us more in fee and wages to replace him. With Conor he has 2 years left on his deal, likely worth double what Trev is, and who knows how much he wants to sign a new deal per week.

July 25, 20232 yr It's amusing that all this speculation stem from an Athletic report that states Chalobah is a sellable asset simply because he would bring in a pure profit transfer fee that we are still apparently starving for. Also, worth noting that Liam Twomey from the Athletic is very unreliable given he is not a transfer correspondent like Ornstein is. https://theathletic.com/4716154/2023/07/24/conor-gallagher-chelsea-tottenham-west-ham/?source=user-shared-article

They may have connections to the club, but this screams as old recycled news. Maybe back in June Chalobah was a sellable asset before Fofana's injury and certainly before we sold Mount, Havertz, and Kovacic.

Today's gem was this one : It relates to Brian Fiabema, who was on our released list to the PL back on 16th June, and effective 1st July. So this muppet journalist at CaughtOffside is really on the ball in his "scoop" in the last hour LOL
